The knee injuries are certainly a legitimate reason, but as a Bucks fan who has been following Parker's shenanigans for years, I can also tell you that Parker has some serious mental issues that hold him back. Is it laziness? Selfishness? Something more complex? I can't tell. But the guy came into the season overweight, out of shape, and completely uninterested. He as much as said he didn't care about defense. Now, if you're legitimately looking to prove your worth and make a new beginning (not to mention prove to the Bulls you deserve the 2nd year of your contract), would you do that?

He needs to find a winning team to apply his skills to that can fit him into a system. Utah would be a great fit since they could hide his defensive deficiencies and desperately need the scoring and playmaking. Also, Quinn Snyder is a good coach who knows how to make players fit.
The most sad thing about Jabari is that Bucks fans watched what a “Peak Jabari” could be in the playoffs last year. He was awful in Games 1 and 2 at Boston. He was pouting about not getting enough minutes and essentially called out Interim Coach Joe Prunty. But whatever happened between Game 2 and 3, something inside Jabari must’ve snapped. Because in Game 3, Jabari was an absolute monster and playing like the All Star he should be. Offensively he was playing under control, made his shots, and overall he just flashed his complete offensive game. The biggest surprise was his defense. He was outstanding. He was engaged, giving 100% effort, disrupting his man, getting his length in passing lanes and creating turnovers, using his big body to hold position. He was a lock down defender in Game 3 and 4. He sparked Milwaukee early in both games. And I remember thinking to myself, “Where has THIS Jabari Parker been all along.” I just don’t get it. Even with the 2 ACL surgeries, Parker was still explosive and athletic. He really didn’t lose a step or two. I always found it mind boggling that Parker was so bad on D, because he really shouldn’t be due to his quickness and athleticism to guard smaller players, having the strength and body build to not get bullied down low, and the length to disrupt passing lanes. And that’s why it’s so sad that he’s one of the worst defenders in the NBA. It’s literally because he doesn’t try or care at all. Just sad. Waste of talent and All-Star potential. You’d think Jabari would realize that if he brought the same type of energy, focus, and determination that he displayed against the Celtics in Games 3 and 4, he would get the big payday he’s looking for. Instead, he talks about how people don’t get paid to play D. Uhm, sorry Jabari, but yes they do. NBA players get paid to play basketball, and half of a basketball game is spent defending your basket. The Bucks need another guy to compliment Giannis, someone else that can spread the floor. The Bucks are knocking on the door of an NBA Championship. Jabari could help them starting in 2021. I wish he became MVP caliber, still I think people are forgetting about him, he still can be good. Only if Giannis didn't become the Bucks leader and Parker didn't get injured who knows....
I think it’s an attitude thing. Jabari never took the reins to become a franchise player. Injuries definitely contributed to that, but he’s too passive, especially with this latest opportunity with the bulls. He could have been the guy, he has the potential, but Lavine has the demeanor to be a leader on the bulls.
Actually think the Jazz need to make that trade RIGHT NOW. They have such a stagnant offense, if Mitchell isn’t going they’re basically screwed. Nobody else can create their own shots on that team. A scorer like Jabari is very much needed
Jabari Parker and Andrew Wiggins are prime examples that good high schoolers aren’t nothing if they don’t continue to evolve. They think their dominance would remain the same at every level of their career.
How John Paxson and Gar Forman are disrespecting Chicago's hometown players should be noted throughout the Bulls' host city. And no I don't care that he got paid. Paxson is looking for a scapegoat, when clearly the Bulls wanted to tank to move up in the draft. Sick of how they treat one of Chicago's own after only a few games. I get that his defense is lacking or nonexisent at times, but he is a productive offensive player. No.2 in scoring. It is beyond me how the Bulls' do business.
2 ACL injuries is no joke (an ACL injury in itself is no joke - just ask DRose). There's a possibility that Jabari could not care anymore because of his confidence being rattled by the injuries that might have taken away some of his mobility.
He is on the Wiz and not doing so bad. I believe there is a team option for him at the end of the year, so kinda interesting if the Wiz pick it up or let him go be a free agent. If he can stay healthy, he is a 20 ppg 7 rpg 3 apg player. I think he could fit in with the Blazers. Already got Lillard and McCollum as the backcourt. Nurkic at center. having another scorer at the SF position of Parker would make them very good team.
I'm not sure what people were expecting with Jabari in Chicago. The Bulls are obviously fully committed to developing Markkanen and Bobby Portis has proven to be a valuable player off the bench. On top of that, they have Wendell Carter Jr. who really needs to be playing at PF since he's not big enough to fight true centers for boards. This just leaves Jabari as the odd man out.
Carter will have to play center as Markkanen and Portis play PF. Lauri will play 36 minutes at PF so Carter will have to guard centers. I see no problem with it as Carter is very strong for a 19 year old.
Lol I’ve always said this, everyone always tries to shit on Wiggins. but Jabari and Julius Randle were in the same draft and I remember specifically on First Take they were having a debate on who they would take and who would be the best player. Jayson Tatum is who we thought Jabari Parker was gonna be in the NBA
Lol I’ve always said this, everyone always tries to shit on Wiggins. but Jabari and Julius Randle were in the same draft and I remember specifically on First Take they were having a debate on who they would take and who would be the best player. Lol it’s just funny to me how much people get led by the media
That injury tho..
Thank god the Bucks realized early that he wasn’t fit for the direction the team was headed and clearly not ready to take on the role as 2nd star. As Middleton does not need the ball to create his offense
Noti GANG
If you don’t play defense you never gona last long in the nba.
Ask Okafor
I thought Ryan Hollin’s said guys come back stronger after an ACL tear
If Jabari panned out (mostly hindered because of injuries unlike Wiggins) the Bucks would be a more serious problem right now
