Still no explanation of his dramatic drop in ability. Rule changes don't explain why he rebounded and scored less (if anything, it'd help him score more).
Poochie Collins He was to slow on defense and teams would force him to play on the perimeter on the defensive end and he wasn't a good enough scorer to consistently take advantage of smaller players so his minutes started to decrease which lowered his scoring and rebounding.
Poochie Collins Hibbert had literally no effect on the game outside the paint. All teams had to do was switch him onto perimeter players or just big men that were good at shooting 3s and he would be rendered useless. Small ball fucked him over big time.
Great video clicked on it by mistake but im glad i did, he was a good player but his fall from grace was hard to watch and as a Knicks fan i will never forget that block on Carmelo i still have nightmares about it

Hibbert making an all star team was misleading, because they were still picking centers, where there were not that many. Career highs of 12 and 8 is not all star calibre, so a decent drop off in a game that is getting called more and more soft, to advocate smaller players shooting 3's, and driving to the rim in open lanes, could easily lead to a player like him not being used anymore.
Don't know if the Pacers tried to develop his outside game? After the 2013 season teams slowly wanted 3 ball bigs or stretch 4s that could helpful to the team. Draymond with GS, KAT with Min, AD with New Orleans, Julius with New Orleans, Krispas with NY, Cousins with GS, Gasol with SAS and so on. @@ColonelZeta Not in today's NBA, Noah cant shoot and hes under sized.
TheRealtalk617 I’d say Capela and Noah are the same size . Their skill sets are comparable are they not ?
@@ColonelZeta You know what thats a good point. Capela didnt cross my mind. Hes on the perfect team for his skill set. Rudy Gobert cant shoot either but hes 7"2. I take back what i said.
I thought Hibbert was too slow in college and even more so in the NBA game. I am not surprised at all that this happened to him. Seems like a nice guy tho, and I wish him the best in his future endeavors. But my oh my he had some irritatingly frustrating performances when his game and confidence fell of a freaking cliff.
Hard to imagine that Hibbert was once seen as a good center rather than a bum!
Stephenson really brought the Pacers to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2014!
yeah, I remember while I was watching NBA game in China, the commentator called him "Black Yao Ming"
I remember from the comments section on the article regarding the George Hill/Kawhi Leonard trade where some Spurs fans were upset and felt they should have gone after Roy Hibbert.
Hindsight is fun.
Can’t believe this bum & young PG really beat the Knicks
Living in Indy...the rumors around here have always been that PG boinked Hibbert's woman. When he found out, his game fell apart.
