I'm just seeing this in October 2024 from Costa Rica and I'm 🤤 (drooling). Unfortunately before I moved here, I didn't know it would be so difficult to find foods from other countries 😢. So thank you so much for your wonderful recipes 💕.
for a bit of additional flavour and to make the tortillas a bit more pliable so they don't crack or split, throw them over the open gas flame or a very hot pan for a few seconds on either side to loosen and wake them up, and add a bit of char (not solid black, but little dots of black). The amount of flavour that is created by this simple step, does not disappoint!!
I have been making your brine for gyros for years now,... and I was so excited to find out that you recently made video about it, your approach is so refreshing, pure therapy for us Akis, a big Thank you from your biggest fan from 🇪🇸 ❤ 🇬🇷
We're heading back to Corfu in August not been since the you know what started. I can't wait to taste a genuine Gyro again. For now I'll try to make your recipe. Sorry but minus onions. Thanks for the brine tip
Akis, would you consider doing a video on making traditional Greek flatbreads? Gonna try this recipe through the week - I've got everything in to do it, luckily! 😁
This is the second video I've watched from you. I'm doing some Greek meals and needed to do some research on how to do recipes as close as traditional. Instant sub!
Hi Akis! Just found your channel! My background is also Greek and to find fun enjoyable recipes to watch like this is so awesome! I want to also make regular LAMB gyro like the ones i used to eat at the very famous and popular food chain Jimmy the Greek in Canada (check it out!) I love their thinly long sliced gyros made out of meat, and seasoned with zesty greek seasoning. Can you post a recipe on them for us? We'd like to make it at home. What seasonings can be added inside lamb gyros? And exactly what kind of meat can I buy from the store? Will it be a mix between meats in a ratio? We'd like to request a video on this too. How can we make it and what can we use, I am really wondering whats behind the zesty greek seasoning and meat?! Thank You warm positive wishes!!
If anyone wonders how much salt you should put in, just aim at 4-5%. So 1 liter of water equals to 40-50gr of salt. Don't go over 5%, just my experience
Akis I would like to watch the recipe of the traditional flatbread Greece ok ? Thank you for this so yummy recipe! Yes, I’m here writing you on the middle of these crowd of people follows You online 😅? So what else ?HELLO’s from SARASOTA FLORIDA !!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Great recipe! I was looking for a delicious brine for my chicken :) Please be more careful with the way you handle raw chicken/gloves next time. I saw it and knew it would trigger a lot of people in the comments 😂
I saw your other recept for fried pork souvlaki and you use a "creamy" tzatziki sauce inside. Is creamy tzatziki the same as tzatziki or not? I cant find any recept for creamy tzatziki 🙈 Does this mustard sauce goes to fried pork as well??
I love your videos...however.., fries is NOT "traditional" (according to my greek friend), he's from Samos btw... It should be just: Bread, Tazatziki, onion, tomato and of course Gyros (Yiros).

You can wash that bag and use it again Akis. I do it all the time. Less plastic waste - better planet. 🌎🌍🌏
They look amazing. Can you add the salt to boiling water as unsalted water comes to the boil more quickly.
Very nice taste
♥ Delicious

Best u are!! 😍👍💖💚👀
I feel like Homer watching someone drink beer. *Drool*
Прикольный акцент ))
Nasty putinist
If you cut down the salt in the brine could you reduce it into a glaze/sauce for the chicken?
Wow🎉🎉🎉🎉
what is the meat with like the herbs in it.. I think chicken kabob.. but like the herbs are in the meat. do you have a recipe for that ❤
Ss usual, lovely and sexy chef. Thanks for recipe.
💖💖💖💖
❤
Is this what you want to do or what you think that people would like to see? :D
I saw your other recept for fried pork souvlaki and you use a "creamy" tzatziki sauce inside. Is creamy tzatziki the same as tzatziki or not? I cant find any recept for creamy tzatziki 🙈
Does this mustard sauce goes to fried pork as well??
Homemade tortillas tho 🤌🏾🤌🏾🤌🏾 with green chile
Just a silly question. When I put the chicken in the broth, the broth is still warm. Even if I put it in the fridge... is that a good idea?...
You need to let it cool down completely. 😉
Is it ok to leave the chicken marinate in the brine overnight?
Of course!
Akis, how do you make your mustard sauce?
akispetretzikis.com/en/recipe/53/gyros-kotopoylo Check here! 😉
👍
It bothered me so much to hear a Greek say "jai-ros' that I bailed out.
If you are more than 80 kilos, you have to loose weight until you are 80 kilos.
Nice recipe :)
Malaka why are you calling them Gyros, the ignorant American way ???
I love your videos...however.., fries is NOT "traditional" (according to my greek friend), he's from Samos btw... It should be just: Bread, Tazatziki, onion, tomato and of course Gyros (Yiros).
Gy-ros? haha lol
Using gloves for the raw chicken but then after cutting also using the cloves to touch the bag and bowl, which you later touch with your hands 😷
Very sexy Gyros!
Who
The pronunciation of gyros tho. Many people pronounce it wrong but you are NOT allowed to😅
Starts cooking chicken... 1 minute 39 seconds later he says "it's cooked".... erm... not a chance I'd eat that raw chicken
It's called video editing.
Do you know how TH-cam works?
Why do you keep saying jai-roes? We all know it is yee-roes.
Where the f*ck is the tzatziki?
OLD is Awesome to you know!
