I think this series is one of the best I've ever watched on TH-cam. Love your presentation style, and the clear and familiar way you describe everything. It's completely changed how I walk around the countryside. I watch every month to check in on new edibles. Will likely use this series as a reference for years to come
Thank you so much, from a lifelong Forager. This is a subject that should be taught in Primary Schools!! Thank you Again for keeping this valuable knowledge alive!!
I put some penny wart in my salad yesterday for added succulence, i pulled a few plants from a wall while foraging and transplanted them into some worn out slippers which hang from a stick frame behind my garage along with the herb Robert, they do well enough with little or no watering.
I've absolutely fallen in love with your videos this year. Can't wait to watch them all again next year to remind me what I'm looking for in each month!
Hello🖐Carly kat, how are you doing hope you are safe over there ? I would love us to be good friends in honesty and in trust if you doing mind. I'm Martin Davies
Your explanations of the parts of mushrooms are great. Have guidebooks but I'm more a verbal/visual learner. Books reenforce. Like how you mention that it would be a good one for a beginner or expert. I grow seed fennel, it's a great plant. Often let seeds dry and give away as gifts for Christmas.
Local books are the best. I'm in the Pacific Northwest of USA. So, my most used book is "Mushrooms of the Northwest of American". I've also joined a local Fb group of mushroom hunters and that is also very helpful. @@demitriiB

To save gas or electric you can actually score them and just putb them in a heavy pay with a lid and boil them and once the water reaches a rolling boil you just turn off the heat and leave them for 45 minutes and they will peel very easily and taste awesome.
Always thought about foraging and now you making these videos has made me start in october 😅 need to start somewhere so greatful for your time and effort youve helped me retain infomation i struggled to retain and made it so much more fun for me
I've watched every month of your foraging calendar this year, really great information. Next year could you do monthly recipes with your favourite foraging goodies and how you use them?
Such a great channel. Thanks for the effort. I've been interested in foraging for some time but never had the confidence to do it. This series will get me out and looking. Subscribed
My new favourite channel! Excellent clear, descriptive videos for beginners. Great to have them for each month even tho we are in central Scotland and slightly different timings for some things.
@@UKWILDCRAFTS th-cam.com/video/IIK-Wlh0eyY/w-d-xo.html Check this out about mushrooms eating nematodes... So some mushrooms could be an indication not to eat any raw herbs in that area possibly having high levels of nematodes ?
Great channel which i have just found and although I follow another english channel with a similar name( also very good) they have not covered other edibles growing in the wild. This video is superb in explanation and variety! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and making it easier for all us other harvesters.
i wonder you could make a class to taking people go around the forest and teach them , because i am not very good at finding the right thing, i am so worry i will pick the wrong ones😊

May I ask if you have any recommendations for books on the subject? I'd like to start out with foraging and like to read as well as watch videos

Sedges have edges. I love a good rhyme to help me remember details :) I love your videos my man!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge again.
Love the presentation style, very informative yet also quite relaxing, bit like primitive technology.
Thanks 😊
Here in France we eat marron glacé for Christmas usually, it's really good 😊

Thanks for a closer look at pendunculate sedge. Have you ever made flour from it?
Looks like a sea urchin :)
Vitamin C this time of year: rose hips, Sorbus sp.
Thought the sweet chestnuts were conkers look very similar to me
Exceptional as always. Xxx
Do you teach at all hold classes? 🤔
Xxx 💜 xxX
Thanks :). Not at the moment but one day I want to
Where's a sweet chestnut in Bristol area if you don't mind giving out source 😊
A lot of conkers grow where I live
Oh and another topic you could cover are things you can forage for smoking ? That Could be interesting

One day I will. There are good foraging instructors in most parts UK, where abouts are you?
@@UKWILDCRAFTS Thank you for your reply😇I live in Somerset ,near dunster castle
