  • Here’s what you can forage in early summer, including the chicken of the woods edible mushrooms. With the price of food going up, being able to forage a part of your diet could help save you money on your weekly shop.
    There are many vegetables, herbs, flowers and seeds to harvest this time of year, and soon the fruits will be ripening too

      It's spooky! I was thinking about making a comment because I enjoy this channel and the guy who posts it. And didn't you go and say exactly what I was thinking of!? Isn't he just so perfect, in his delivery and level of information? Makes me feel calm . Can you let me know if you get this message? Just wondering if big brother is "paying back" if you catch my drift. Do you agree that this info should be taught at school? Cos I do! ❤

    Another great video. I gathered some Hogweed buds a few days ago and also found a load of Giant Hogweed and Hemlock very close by. Great to see and understand the clear differences between the 3 plants. Loads of various Thistle here too so this could be my first year of Thistle foraging. Keep the videos coming. Great for a 20min tea break 👍

    Brilliant. Just a question on hogweed is it photosensitive like the giant hogweed in lesser amount. If you get any of the plants serum on your skin.

    • @Suzitao
      @Suzitao 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it must be...as I handled some recently to collect the flower
      buds..but my hand got really tingly..I think some people must be sensitive to it..needless to say I abandoned the idea. I am someone with lots of sensitivities and allergies tho..so if you are someone like me..just try handling it first (once you know its the right type of hogweed obvs!) Enjoy!

    Aren't hogweed phototoxic ie the sap can cause burns blisters in the sun?

    • @UKWILDCRAFTS
      @UKWILDCRAFTS  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The sap of giant hogweed is very phototoxic, but common hogweed is very mild. Apparently for people with sensitive skin it can be mildly itchy. But I’ve never known anyone to have an issue with it
