I am very much enjoying your mountain biking videos! They come at a perfect time too, as I am stuck inside in Texas 🔥 and I can bike along with you on my exercycle! 😎
You are right on point with the bike issue. It does matter!! From a confidence and stability standpoint. Try a Specialized Stumpjumper Evo. I think it would fit perfectly out there and they are super expensive!
Dude you killed it in this video! Even with a bike on the fritz, you still managed to rip faster than any other video you've made. The progression is really cool to see.
Dude it’s night and day, your first MTB vid to now. Incredible progress. You need a bike of your own, no question. For safety 😉 love it dude, stay safe 🤙🤙
Buy the santa Cruz if you can swing it.....your riding will get better on a great bike.....I look forward to YOU riding that root section next time.....your lucky to ride at deer valley...
Epic episode as always, Lucas! My 2cents as someone who has been riding mtb for years and owned / demoed a ton of bikes - don't shell out $5k+ on a bike to start. Modern aluminum bikes around the $3k mark are unbelievably capable. If you're cool with buying consumer-direct, check out cheaper aluminum models of the YT Capra, Propain Tyee, Vitus Sommet, Marin Rift Zone, etc. If you want to work with a shop, Trek Slash, Spesh Status 160 or Stumpjumper Evo, Ibis Ripmo AF come to mind. Tons of sales right now across a bunch of brands too. Keep shredding!
that i so true. I bought a Canyon Spectral for around 2k and the only thing I upgraded were the brakes. The rest of the bike is extremly capable even on really big jumps or advanced tech.
@@LucasCatania17 I've bought used many times! I'm the second owner of my current full-sus and I think it ended up being a good deal. But you kinda have to know what to look for (in terms of wear and tear) or bring along a friend who does - just like buying a used car. Buying new offers peace of mind, and buying from a local shop that will help you get fitted and fix little things amplifies that. It can be really nice. Last point - there are so many bike sales right now that buying new seems more economical than it has to me in the past. Some consumer direct brands are offering pretty insane value. That YT Capra Core 1 is on sale for like ~$2200 right now and could be ready to go from box to bike park in like 20 minutes
@@LucasCatania17You are on a used bike now. How's that working out? But for real, if buying used maybe go through a reputable online sales site that goes through the bike, refreshes fluids and services the suspension before selling and gives you some sort of warranty. And only buy 2 years old or newer if possible. Standards change quickly in the MTB world. And remember: buy once, cry once. Buy the most bike you can now. Personally: I'd value better level of componentry over a higher regarded frame brand. These days you almost Can't buy a bad bike. All the main brands have their stuff together.
As you gain more experience you will discover the more important brake is in the front. Dragging rear brake is common when you are nervous about the track. A trail side trick for a faded rear brake (lever pulls to the bar) is to remove the rear wheel and do ONE pull of the lever. It will push the pistons out a bit and let you use up the rest of the pads.
Buy a bike Lucas so you can enjoy and be safe! You like speed and will be pushing it, it’s just you! Better to be safe with a good bike you can grow into! Would you go down an icy double black on skis with no edges? Enjoying these videos it’s something I know I can’t do at my age, but you are bringing us along like skiing! Thanks!
My brakes are the same way. I ended up adjusting the reach out and using a zip tie to pull the lever in just until it’s contacting. Makes the brakes engage instantly and they feel 100x better. Kinda sketch tho on the front brake. I don’t have one on there in fear it’ll lock up or something dumb
Keep them coming but you need your bike or at least get the rear brake fixed. Not having a rear brake is sketchy . Looks like you had fun riding with other. In the end just being in the mountains raises the stoke level .
what an epic day! moments like these really push me to continue sharing the stoke of life regardless of the season, skill level and activity.
yewwww!! Now you know how we all feel making our own ski videos 🤣. You're sending it on MTB man!!
Boooom … and we love every moment brother! Keep’n it real! 🤘Salute
I see a Stoke Squad Sticker 😮😮😮😮😮😮 YEWWWWW

i appreciate that bro! doin my best!
It’s a trip, I love skiing and have never gone mountain biking, but I think I like the bike videos even more than the powder skiing.
Yewww.
ha they are definitely a lot of fun! kinda feels similar to skiing just with dirt and not snow!
Happy no injuries most of all
I liked how easy that kid made it look.....I'm sure you will get that section next time.....good work......thank you

Thanks pat! The kid crushed it haha. And I like your point there. I’m sure I will progress faster with a good platform underneath me.
Insane speed
Definitely looks like a crazy group to ride with but nothing like doing crazy with crazy
All gas and no brakes.....another great day on the mountain!

youre totally right. the more i bike, the more that becomes apparent. i get a bit worry with the lack of safety for sure... thank you for watching!!
It was really tight on that last opening holy smokes
I feel like this ride was the bike telling you it’s time to move on to a new bike lol
ha definitely gotta make some decisions thats for sure bc demoing/renting gets expensive.
Guerilla Gravity is a small CO company that makes carbon bikes in the US. Super affordable and they have some pretty rad end of year sales going on.
thanks dude. im gonna check them out. sounds super cool.
Nice work to stay on his tail for a while
You're reaching levels of stoke us mortals can only dream of 🚵🏻
hahaha just trying to do my civic duty
I’ve been biking for like 3 years now and Lucas is sending stuff twice as big as I ever have in 3 weeks of riding I swear!

haha damn dude sounds pretty nifty. brakes are something i dont wanna mess with!
@@LucasCatania17 the SRAM Code XCR’s come with an adjustment for bite point, highly recommend if you need to upgrade whatever you settle on
Peep the sticker. Colors looked extra nice on this vid.
thank u bro
Will there be a video from powder mountain?
unfortunately, i deleted the footage on accident haha so all i have is gopro footage of me biking and nothing else..
You should check your brake pad and replace it if needed or you can have a shop look at your bike if the pad is still good.
Yeah that would be the right thing to do. I’m sure it’s just a small fix.
What are your GoPro settings? Footage looks amazing!
thanks dude! i was shooting in 5k, 24fps hyperview!
you did look a lot more comfortable on that last bike..
Agreed!
You should get a commencal meta sx it is quite a good option that is also affordable
Sick - I’m gonna check it out!
My Hayfever would be through the roof 😂
Ha!
I'd be twisting and shouting the whole way down white knuckled
Love you Footage maybe invest in a new Bike or try other bikes. Keep Peddling on ✌️
thats the plan! thank you!
I say you treat yourself to the Rolls-Royce of off trail mountain bikes after all you give it your all you might as well give it your all
ha thanks jack! i agree with that!

Thanks bon! Exactly right - just being out there is what it’s all about and to get to share that with others is even better!
The sticker on the bike…
Nice catch ;)

Haha what the hell is this grom term
Grom, shortened from grommet, is Australian and Californian slang for a young, often precocious surfer.
