Lucas loving the mtb you have come leaps and bounds since your first day. Now it’s time to get your own bike maybe a used one to start, then you can dial it in.
make sure to practice preloading on jumps too. not all jumps are perfectly manicured with long gradual takeoffs like in bike parks. trust me I've learned the hard way haha.
If it makes you feel any better, those plastic crankbrothers pedals are known to have awful grip. The spindle diameter is too big so your feet barely make consistent contact with the actual pins. Your foot just ends up sliding around on the plastic protrusion of the spindle.
Lucas they have combination clip-in platform pedals. They act like light gauge ski bindings. You’ll have so much more control over the rear wheel and picking it up over bigger roots and jumps. Ask a bike shop for a demo of how they work. Once you try them you’ll never go back.
I do all the time. There are times where you need to lift that rear wheel and bunny hope over objects. I would certainly bunny hop over those tree roots that is Lucas’s nemesis.
i really like to do my research before buying a purchase.. it can get $$$ to keep demoing and that can take up lots of time.. i do like having the perfect set up though..
so far the 29 looks like it is the way to go.. you can probably experiment with different pedals.. my first full suspension mountain bike had clip in pedals.. i did fall a couple times because i couldn't get my feet out fast enough..
confidence is a HUGE thing.. the one thing about me skiing on my 104 Frees is for me not to get too overconfident.. the skis will handle it all.. i just might NOT..
i love this mtb content lucas! ive been trying to grow my own skiing channel but i am not gaining any following. do you have any tips for making your videos do better in views??
wym man you have 300 subscribers! thats definitely something! its the start of your whole community. take care of them while you have them. you're also incredibly new in the process. you gotta continue making videos and refining your craft before you can worry about gaining a following! theres gotta be something there for people to follow!
@@LucasCatania17 thanks, the only problem is that my subs were from shorts, but then I switched to full length videos and they get no views but I'll figure it out.
30 & 28 lbs tire pressure? That's a lot. I ride 24 in both. That high tire pressure will slow you down as your tire will have to move up and over all the small textures on the trail as apposed to conforming to those textures.
You should try the Bronson too. That’s what I’ve been on for years. It’s a bit more versatile in my opinion. Unless you’re gonna stay a park guy forever, the Bronson is way more playful and flickable if that makes sense. I still ride mine at north star park and it’s rad!
Alternate title: ikon beater vs. thunder storm

Heck yeah ! Luna is back
yup back in business!
@@LucasCatania17 now for those rear brakes
Badass ride
Sounds like you might be ready to try out clip-in pedals. I like Shimano’s.
oo im scared to be clipped in haha

Acting like a boss on that trail
gnarly lucas
thanks broo
Stroke Squad 1...Storm 1. Either way another great day on the mountain!
hah yup exactly!!
Progressing fast brother! No surprise #stokesquad
slow progression man! appreciate it!
You need to go to winter park, rent a full downhill, and hit rainmaker
that would be rad someday!
You should take a look at what Storm Cycles in Kimball Junction has for bikes - one of the best shops in town in my opinion.
thanks for the rec! would love to try out one of their pivots!
Do people run Clipless pedals on downhill
I do all the time. There are times where you need to lift that rear wheel and bunny hope over objects. I would certainly bunny hop over those tree roots that is Lucas’s nemesis.
yes for sure!!
Nice!
yew!
$75-$90 is a lot.. does that go towards purchase?
i really like to do my research before buying a purchase.. it can get $$$ to keep demoing and that can take up lots of time.. i do like having the perfect set up though..
i was waiting to see if you cleared that... i think that says a LOT

Good to know! I heard roosts don’t count if your rear tire is less than 30psi though!!
@@LucasCatania17 My guess is the rental place pumped them up that high to guard against rim dings and pinch flats.
Lookin Good Man, Hey you should Check out the Salt Flats Bonnieville Speed Week 2023 cars trucks Motorcycles

Hey man, I have a deer valley pass, always looking for people to ride with, so hmu if you want to hit the lifts.🤙
