What do starfish think of noise pollution? Can an octopus eat ice creams in a strong wind? Do sea anemones enjoy sharing their pool with strangers, and why do sea lions prefer Whitby to Scarborough? Pull up a deckchair, don the kiss me quick, and let our coastal creatures soothe away the winter blues.
Nick Park’s Creature Comforts took the classic documentary style and applied it to the lives of wild animals and pets, matching a cast of clay characters with human voices to charming effect. Originating from Nick’s 1989 Academy Award®-winning short film, Creature Comforts was unique for using unscripted vox-pop interviews with the British public in a stop motion series that has become an Aardman classic.
The success of the short film led to two TV series, which broadcast on ITV, and an iconic series of commercials for the Electricity Board’s ‘Heat Electric’ campaign. Creature Comforts also went across the pond to the USA where the unique format was used once again to tell real-life stories from people in America. The claymation characters portray very human traits and contemplate absurdities of the universe such as, ""Do bald eagles ever feel self-conscious?"" and ""What makes pigs feel sexy?""

Is no one going to talk about the newspaper that blows across the octopus with a headline that reads, "Talking Octopus Escapes GM Pet Clinic?" That's comedy gold!
IKR!😂😂
And, the pig eating pork rinds. 🤣🤣
I'm "comforted" knowing there are other human creatures out there who appreciate and admire this show as much as I do. Makes me realize the world can be a fun place despite all of the bad behavior that so many people display. This is clever and clean...good belly laughs are good for the soul.
Agreed
@@impulse4346right you are
One of the best things ever broadcast.
This is what it used to be like lots of wholesome good entertainment but now everybody's so bloody serious
@@James-kv6kb There is still loads of 'good wholesome entertainment' available on television.
I'm wondering what channels you regularly watch?
That’s an amazing cackle from the dog at the beginning :-D
So cute and hilarious laugh on this dog at the beginning
Lol...I was going to.say the same thing .....in every appearance..and the cat n dog are another couple of "Stars "....Oops...I just responded to my own input....I'm tired.
the thing about this i really apreciate is the sincerity of the cast, they sounds like they having fun
It’s very cool bcs the women who did the voice for the dog is blind so aardman made her a guide dog
@@BIZJ3T oh wow I didn't know that.that interesting
I love these. They're so... comforting.
Yeah makes u feel cosy and warm 😊
Couldn’t agree more. It’s the magic of life before social media when the art of face to face conversation was truly embraced. That combined with the incredible talent of nick park and the Aardman team makes it one of the most wonderful programs ever made.
This is hilarious
So this is called Creature Comforts.
I wish there was new episodes for this series. It’s just such a relaxing and fun series to watch.
I love these little vignettes, they remind me of the zoo skits Johnny Morris did when I was a child. He would pose as a zookeeper and film different animals and narrate the kinds of conversations they'd have with him and each other from the animals perspective. So clever
Yes,I remember that TV show! I used to live it. It was called, 'Animal Magic' 🤗❤️
I can't stop laughing at the hamster and starfish trying to talk over noisy people and a blaring radio!!
No one else seems to have pointed out the guy eating the entire ice cream in one gulp at 5:15
also the PIG is eating PORK SCRATCHINGS at 5:02
..and the guy busking...by the sign that says, “no busking” 😂😂
What about the sunburn he is getting?
I think it’s nice to see the hamster smile.😊
Leslie Tonn, yes, isn't it? That poor little chap doesn't look like he has the best of lives!
Pretty slovenly household, never gets out of the cage...They're all masterfully made!
Talking octopus escapes.... Hilarious!
Always puts a smile on my face 😄
Proper English humour and simple life love it I feel like I have everyone of these characters as patients
I've seen every episode a thousand times but I'm still excited whenever I see one has been uploaded :)
The pig just says there is some germs in the sea
So clever, the time an effort must be enormous
The Great British Public are the best voices for the animals
That Hamster is such a mood
That sand transition when it rained on the octopus is 💯👌
These clips are absolutely charming and unbelievably creative! What a gift!! That pig eating pork scratchings, lolololol!! I love the starfish, the donkeys...All of them!
The little hamster had a tied up hankie on his head. awwww
The pork scratching is perfect.
lately i’ve been crying a lot and having a lot of breakdowns but watching these melt everything away and help me calm down and sleep 🥺 mucho appreciation!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I hope you are feeling better these days and still watching.
Me too!
Rip
Magic, pure magic.
Those baby crabs are so cute
The dogs owner with sun burned legs 😂
always an easy watch and so much appreciation for the work that goes into it!
The part with the mother crab is cute :D
Was anyone else just like "JUST LICK THE ICE CREAM ALREADY!!" XDD
The whole time
Its always funny when they make the pigs germ or cleanliness conscious.
The germaphobe pig is the best. So relatable 😂
I love going to Scarborough, Bridlington and all that
Nobody gonna talk about the pig eating pork scratchings!?!
I love all those little details! Like the escaped octopus headline that blows past him! The wit is just fabulous...
The talking whale voice caught me off guard! I thought it will be low male voice with heavy bass. Instead its light feminine voice! XD)) too funny!
Love the Octopus and his trio of ice cream treats!! And the seals with
their beach blanket and picnic!! The dancing dog is cute! Lovely clip!
the sunburn on this guy😂😂😂 2:36
Absolutely Brilliant I hope they bring back new episodes of Creature Comforts PLEASE 🙏 😀!!!
5:00 is too much. I died laughing. Love it.
This is genius-level work.

Damn big business sludge!
Got to love the hamster
All of these are so clever and funny. Love them!
What fun it must be to create these clips!
This is one of the finest episode and the evolution too..
Summer will always be my favourite season of the year.
These are always the best!
This is my fav episode of series 1.
marvelous and so funny, thank you!❤
These are genius ❤❤❤
Very enjoyable.
6:49 I hear the dog laughing from the beginning from 0:01
I swear the hamster sounds just like Richard Ayoade!! 😆
When will that hamster find happiness
I always thought they just interviewed people by the beach and then put it in the film.
Sal Holland they did, that’s exactly what they did
That’s the genius of it.
That’s basically what they did tbh. Same with all their other episodes.
Just watch the little seal at 3:42 🤣🤣🤣 it’s a really quick little gesture but its there. Naughty 😂
3:42 is two seagulls. No seals in sight!
The hamster sounds just like Richard Ayowade!
At 3.00 is my fav part
These are actually real people
The poor whale 🙁
The pig was raised by good parents if it constantly protects itself from things!😂
That's one thing we agree on
i love this
Very roasting at summer 2021, the covid-19 is more crazy than last year.
i like the anmation but hope yall dont mind i use this to help me sleep cuz its very cozy to hear em
subs and likes ofc
The baby seal.
am i the only one that noticed the no busking sign at the busking scene at: 2:10
awesome
Where is the dolphin in the thumbnail from?
I bet the setting for this episode is northumberland😁😁😁😁
Aardman is based in Bristol so could be Weymouth, Weston Super Mare, etc.
“Very chewy, chewy..” lol
The seal sounds like Bob Mortimer lol
IS that Richard Ayoda (sp?) as the hampster?
No, the animals are all voiced by random people, not celebrities.
Could be! They may have just seen him and interviewed him, especially since he was really only in theater and radio at the time of this video (2003) and hadn’t become the popular figure he was yet
Little Stick 🦯 Of Black Pool 🏊♀️ Rock 🪨
5:56 😂
Kickball
This show is always hilarious but being Australian listening to people talking about the beaches is even more hilarious
Sir Pig, you're mistaken. The sea can do wonders for your health. Don't you wonder why so many were sent off to the seaside for their health in ye olden times??
Nikola Tesla Mustache Bow Tie Inventor
🏝
2:40 Notice the European Union flag in the sand castle?
Does this mean the producers are anti Brexit? 😁
You do realise this was released in 2003, many years before the referendum?
6:28 eww! What's this stuff in the water, it looks purpley black
they're discussing Big Company Oil spills in the oceans

I always wanted to know what a turd fish was.
Probably some bottom feeder. XD With beady eyes and the mouth on their underside.

This was made long before Brexit was a thing :)
