I gave acknowledgement to new animes who OPs made the list that I was impressed to see !??!! Although I PERSONALLY like a lot of the older anime ops (my opinion solely) I did respect all the new gen anime ops for being so high on the list like CSM, JJK, Spy Family etc.
@@reduwu7602 it's a good song for sure, and even more as an OP. The problem is that it's NOT the type of music a casual fan would be listening to while strolling down the street. You feel me? Also, objectively speaking here, Cowboy Bebop is nowhere near a cultural icon like Evangaleon was and still is. You very rarely hear people talking about Cowboy Bebop, meanwhile Evangaleon is still getting collabs from famous brands to this day.

I've seen a few people react to this video, and one thing that is very rarely considered was the artist behind the song. Most notice it when YOASOBI and Idol comes in at number 1, but almost never with everything else before it. My best example of this is with Yonezu Kenshi. Unless you're Japanese or live inside Japan, it's pretty hard to understand just how popular he is in Japan. One might know that Kenshi is popular, but how popular exactly is the hard part to wrap your head around.
Say what you want about Sword Art Online but missing it when it was coming out was like missing Attack on Titan, or Oshi no ko. It was like a cultural turning point. It took over everything. It was all anyone would talk about.
Idk where you been but gundam is a staple..nobody talks about it much bcuz it’s something everyone knows..like saying nobody talks about evangelion bcuz ofc everyone knows it already
@@Hon3yBunn3 I mean, as an icon? Yes, gundam is a staple. But to find someone who actually talks about gundam or even mecha in general are not an easy task whether irl or online. But that's just me though.

This was so refreshing. An anime op compilation reaction where the reactor actually respects the ones they don't know/aren't the hugest fan of? craazy Great video, thanks for not exaggerating everything!
Damn, after pausing so much, there was no pause on number 57. TH-cam numbers were crazy. And then number 32. TH-cam smashed it here. Or better said TH-cam Music and Spotify are to low. Opposite for number 15. Spotify smashed it there. It's number 1 on Spotify. There are 3 mistakes in original video. Number 50 is OP1, not OP2. Number 31 is OP4, not OP1. Number 10 is S2 OP2, not S2 OP1.
A reminder that people still get ostracized for watching Anime in the late 2010's until early 2020's came in with COVID. People stuck indoors and with nothing much to do, many picked up Anime as one of the things to keep them occupied. Nowadays, it is a common occurence bumping into people openly talk about them. No wonder most in the top list are recently aired shows. To add to that, as one of the people mentioned in the comment section, streaming wasn't around back then.
It's so cool to see new animes have their openings in the top 100 streamed, but i wonder how different it would really be if streaming was a thing in the 90s / early 20s
@@Saphwyn I remember reading an article a few months back and it talked about Japanese karaoke and iirc evangelion opening was like in the top 10 singed across the board so that should tell you how big those songs were especially since they are still being used to this day. Then again evangelion by itself is just so massive in Japan but yeah I can only imagine how instead of everyone using there Walkman they were on Spotify
If I ever need to pick one OP that perfectly sums up anime for me, it’s #4. 41:31 Also, I still can’t bring myself to add either OP from JJK season 2 to my playlist. It’s still too soon man😭
Well older OP don't have streaming platform, also add that even OP from anime that have more than 10 years old might not even have a official video cause the owner of the song doesn't want them to be "free" on site like youtube. Like Renai Circulation OP on TH-cam is a fan made that sing the all music and a lot of people still think it's the official video.
@@izaacyankelovich271 show was super popular but the band / song brought even more popularity too it, example I discovered it bc of the song going viral (not everyone is like me though)
I'm with you man, Wild Side is one of my favourite OPs full stop. Kaibutsu I think is more streamed because it has the Yoasobi buff, if it was someone else Wild Side definitely woulda been the standout blow up song of the show (I haven't seen the show lol)
Black Catcher is my fave anime op all time and I was so so glad people agreed being 21 in this list. Also some ops here can be explained with artist recognition, I guess. *cough*Yoasobi*cough*
Frieren is one of the only anime I've ever seen that had literally zero nitpicks. The vast majority of criticism leveled against it is "it's overrated". Too many people equate "hugely popular" with lowest common denominator dreck (like most Marvel movies).
The person who made this list definitely is new to anime and just started watching when MHA came out😂 i also think youtube isn't doing it justice because of copyright. A whole lot of songs had to be reuploaded on diff channels so the views aren't what they use to be and youtube was the go to for music u cant find on apple music when ipod shuffles and nanos were still around.
Lol the people in chat thinking it's top 100 (opinionated) list was hilarious
Yeah 😭 people didn’t realize it was the most streamed songs lol
Weeb minds
Now do the TOP 100 STREAMED ANIME ENDINGS EVER.

@Saphwyn I know I'm just bulshitting. It's criminal that Cowboy Bepop is so low. I think it's on par with Evangelion in being iconic.
Maybe because Spotify does not exist at that time

something people forget is these are normal songs in japan. being an anime op doesnt make it more popular
Did the twitch chat even know that this was based on no. of streams like why are they attacking the publisher of that video xD
Twitch knew eventually LMFAO

Yoasobi make some banger songs. Buuuuuut. They feel over rated to me.
I like them :) but I understand the overrated pov
They definetly are 🤷♂️ but then again, it isnt my type of music anyway so ehh
You should listen to the new OPs songs. Some are so fire. Like domestic girlfriend OP is good (show isn’t) Minami is so good and also YAOSOBI is fire.
You wanna know why Gundam the witch from Mercury that lots of views? YOASOBI
i figured 😂

still not over hxh not being higher, such an iconic op 😭
