It looks to me as if they've got too much trust in these things. Too many bugs in one place, to bug out. How's it said..if it goes wrong, it will, & at the worse possible moment. Too many..too close. ( single lane roads too)
Hank has complained about people driving around trying to get a good look or snap pictures before in other videos. Not only are they a hazard by crowding the roads, they are 99% usually unaware of the dangers of tornadoes; RFDs, hail, and wind extending beyond the visible funnel causing them to get way too close/stay too long and lose their lives.
Problem is, with so many chasers, surely if the Tornado picked up pace and changed direction, it would be carnage trying to move so many cars at once. Even watching Reed Timmer's stream, so many seem to cling on to his backside. I do personally think, in this era of social media people seem more interested in garnering quick likes, I learn a lot from the smattering of Peco's videos I watch and that's the difference I learn stuff, I don't just have to listen to someone screaming OMG in my earholes at the time.
Unlike EVERYONE else who films these videos, thank you so much for staying calm and not ruining your footage with screaming and hysterics. We adore you. Never stop.
So glad you caught this one, Hank, I was watching Connor's stream when he caught it. And Reed was crazy enough to drive UNDER IT before it developed into this stovepipe! I'm reminded of how much better footage like this is without a chaser screaming their lungs out into a microphone.
I don't know why you're all ragging on Reed, both he and Hank are masters of their work in different ways. Personally I find both enjoyable for different reasons.
OMG Hank!!!! I live in Eldorado... I wish I had known you were out there yesterday! I would have loved to meet you in person. My daughter (who is pregnat with triplets) lives in Olustee and they spent quite awhile down in a neighbor's underground shelter. Right before she stepped in, she saw the tornado. We were praying hard for their safety, and at the last minute the tornado turned north and missed the town. We have you, and other storm chasers that were live streaming to thank for our safety - because we KNEW exactly what roads they were on, so we knew exactly where the tornado(es) were! MAD respect for all y'all that risk your lives to protect others. Thank you so much (and the fkg awesome videos are an absolute bonus)!
My mom was from Eldorado, I'm happy to get a look at where she came from. She mentioned Olustee, Altus, and Quanah TX as places her family liked to go for fun (Depression / Dust Bowl era) but she lost both parents at age 14 and was forced to move in with her uncle in CA. I'd love to visit someday, my relatives are in the town graveyard.
@@LeTrashPanda I'm sure it's VERY different than when she was here. It has changed a lot over the years, and not necessarily for the "good". There's really not much here any more. Mostly just us old people - even the school closed. Olustee, Altus and Quanah are pretty much the only places TO go "around here", unless you want to drive for 2-3 hours. It's not a BAD town, just not much here anymore. Still really good people though.
the best thing bout you hank is your calm demeanor when chasing. It is a breath of fresh air. I know things are intense and bad when you swear and that's it.
And even then most of it is bleeped out (with EAS sounds to boot lol🤣💀) so people a little more sensitive to swearing are covered🙂(well the Big TH-cam Bosses dosen't like swearing either but you get my point 😅😂)

I was watching Connor's stream when this thing was starting to form. And you're absolutely right. It had so many different shapes and each shape looked incredible! It came down as a huge bowl with sporadic multiple vortices, even some horizontal ones, and ended up as a huge barrel. Insanity.
Im a special needs educator and my students LOVE your videos. I started showing them when we didba week's long lesson about weather/natural disasters/and safety procautions. Tornados were one of their favorites natural disasters to learn about and do experiments with. I had a handful of students say they would like to be storm chasers so I brought up your videos and they were amazed at the storms, thr video footage, photography, and the amazing narration you do with your videos and were hooked on them. Now we watch them not only for fun and educational purposes, but also because of how nice and calming of a voice you have and it helps to regulate my students!
Of all the people posting tornado content you still remain my favorite. Your understated style is perfected. You let nature's beauty speak for itself and I can really appreciate that. Stay safe brother
I've been thinking of you during these outbreaks, and really excited for when you eventually post your seasonal chasing video. You're the only one who combines my two biggest special interests, storms/tornadoes and random animal/bug encounters. Plus your home made soundtracks always give the BEST storm vibes.
Thanks for the video. Always interesting to see you pop up. Looks like storm chasing is booming as well. Also love the low key no yelling reaction. It makes it so much better to be able to just pay attention to the visual story. Stay safe.

That is the voice of a dude that's been on the road for a LOOOONG time. I don't blame him for being exhausted - this has been a pretty crazy season so far. Really great stovepipe, too, rare to see one that long lasting and that wide.
I love your videos so much that I’m obsessed with your videos. That was a big tornado 🌪️ 😮. You’re very inspiring to me and the best storm chaser on TH-cam along with Reed Timmer. I cannot wait for you to upload more content this year. You are amazing ❤

I agree! 🇺🇸 👍☕
It's so obnoxious when they start screaming stuff like "THERES A TORNADO LOOK AT IT"
Agreed
I was just going to say this. "Professional" chasers, screaming like children who've never seen a tornado before -- I can't watch.
Few days back I was watching one of Reed’s videos and he was yelling not to get out of the car while blitzing down the highway at 100 🤦♂️
I love how you just let the videos of the Tornadoes just speak for themselves. No overdramatics, just informative and interesting and cool ❤️

Sigh. It's so nice to watch a tornado video without Reed Timmer screaming in the background! Thank you, Hank, for actually letting us hear the storm!
When you watch vintage tornado videos from the 80s and early 90s stormchasers just stay silent or say one or two things and move on.
Just mute it
Reed's mother likes to hear him scream--ever since he was born.
Reed Trimmer probably yells at his pets. Like face pressed up against the hamster cage and blowing wood chips around with his own vocal tornado.
I can't stand that SOB. If I really have to watch one of his videos, I do so with the volume MUTED.

Quiet storm chasers are a rare gift to this earth. I mute Reed's stream anytime I watch it, he always yells the same stuff, SO loud too.
Oh I know and Hank is NICE too. Saves animals and people when he can. The real reason for needing to chase.
Reed has absolute learning difficulties

I really appreciate the steady camera work, calm narrative and professionalism in your videos Sir. Such a breath of fresh air compared to the majority of the other storm chasing videos.
Pecos Hank is the best! Calm, perfect laid back voice, to many just scream at the tornado, while Pecos sips on an icee.
After all these years it's amazing and awesome to still here you say... "Wow" @ 1:38 Much love to ya Hank !
Love your channel. I live in Spring and went through the Derecho as well. Stay safe out there.
