How about the take 0 damage every time I use an elite skill too. I’ll take a spammable reveal that applies 15 vuln while being unblockable too actually. Also hmu with that add 360 prec and fero while fully charging my F1. Imagine that shatter. How about a weapon that can do 3 seconds stun 2 second knockdown and a knock back with a 13k damage skill on it. Any and every class has stuff that sounds outrageous on it. I merely pointed out a common problem that players shared lol.

Spear proves that good weapon skills can make an entire class work. Almost like weapons, movement, and positioning is the bread and butter of Guild Wars 2 combat. However, now there is no reason to swap to another weapon other than Staff.
Yes, its a bit apparent that warrior currently has two good weapons, lol. However, there are now builds around that work better thanks to spear, which were previosusly very dificult to utilize. For example glasscannon Berserker, finally has a chance in 1 v 1 against SPB, which he didn't have for years.

Explosive spears eh ANet? :D | But for real, the best part of Spear, *hands-down,* is that it doesn't feel like they leveraged ALL of Warrior's power budget on to the Burst/Primal Bursts for once. As you mentioned, those damage % modifiers are probably there for both flavor & easy-future balance updates. Which gives me cope that they won't nerf the actual Spear mechanics imo. Also, you're accidentally playing Bladesworn in the beginning of this video, and if it makes you feel any better Relic of Rivers is good. But I've been testing it a LOT lately and I don't think that it's existence is really all that bad. You need insane boon duration investment to get anywhere near 100% uptime on alacrity. Which is, at most, 2 or 3 seconds off a skill in PvP. But as you've mentioned the bigger issue is that Full Counter is idiotic and probably just needs to be Spear 5 so there's counterplay. Also also, just fyi, they enabled [Warrior's Sprint] movespeed on Spear again. Or maybe it never went away and I'm on something. So who knows if that's working as intended !?!? But yeah, Spear feels good! 😄

Since the release of the expansion, I haven't touched the warrior's and ranger's spears, because they looked terrible during testing, but at that moment the "wpierdol" convinced me to put a spear on my warrior and go into battle! XD Pozdro. :D
After playing testing it, I've warmed up to Warrior Spear. However, there are two things I have issues with. 1. The auto functionality of Warrior Spear should've been what Thief Spear Autos are. It's still confusing to why it more effective at close range; just make it do melee autos instead when at close range, please. Other than that, I have no big issues with the Spear's functionality on its other skills. 2. The 2 skill of Warrior Spear should actually apply other conditions other than cripple. Otherwise, they need to change it's misleading description.
Warrior changing to melee animations with different effects, maybe weakening, would be great, as well as Guardian being allowed to throw their spears with auto attack. The auto attack feature they were so proud of not being applied to all classes is insane.
Spear is really good but I wouldn't call it the best weapon warrior has. That Title goes to Staff. Warriors currently dominating the PvP game mode feels good to be honest. Some tournament matches had 4 Warriors in it and the Team that Won for EU had 2 of them.

I tried the berserker dps glass cannon too and the spear didn't perform as well as rifle because of the limitations you pointed out. And instead built a spellbreaker that could comfortably engage 4v1s for as long as stances were available and could still dps, broke asf 😅
Defense, Discipline Spellbreaker, has 6sec CD on burst, and can reset said burst with [Full Counter]. Between F1 > F2 > F1 combo, (2,5 sec uninterrupted evasion) spear 5 and his innate dodges + Signet of Stamina, and SPB gets Thief level of evasion. Now add to that Defiant Stance, Balanced Stance, and Endure Pain, and Relic of Rivers for Alac, to reduce ALL of his defensive cooldowns, and SPB can not just hold but take ground, in a 1 v 3 scenario. Spellbreaker was a problem for many months in a row, and he consostwntly gets things nerfed (like staff just got) becouse he can abuse everything remotely strong in warrior's toolkit. Btw [Full Counter] is bugged, getting VD reduction from Discipline traits twice. :)
or maybe have some condis with the potentional to build something different other than a defence power warrior... I swear that if the next weapon is not a condi weapon for warrior, i am gonna sue anet.
@@captaincrapface7337 healing and boons worse than staff, cc worse than longbow, no condition damage, symbol on 5 labeled incorrectly/bugged doesn't proc symbol related traits, movement on 2 require full stop like old sword 3 + ground targetting shits bed on any slope in the terrain, 1 is not ranged/mid switch like revenants' and heal scaling is ass (way below regen performance) Overall only power dh can use it in none-meme way assuming you are ok with melee only.

I played all of them extesively in the past week-some and i'm agreeing with you that warriors got a W they desperately needed. Also historically warrior wasn't seen as a support prof and anet did everything to kill of support utility of the warrior with 10MUE removal and shitshow with banners. Warrior player here and i want all of your cooldowns to replace mine. Channeled block on 12 sec cooldown? Teleport on 15? BF multihitting AoE doing tons of damage on 15 again? AoE stability on 10 seconds, and taunt on 15? Sighn me the fuck up!

I love it, we finally get access to decent ranged skill that is multi hit. berserker can no longer be denied a burst by just a simple aegis or blind
