    do chains on front tires help with the sliding issues? what size?

      Chains on front do help. These are off a walk behind snowblower. I don’t have a size. Had to cut to fit.
      I have seen others use a length of bicycle chain. Deflate. Wrap chain around circumference and cut to fit, then re-inflate.

    the manual arm you use to raise and lower the blower looks so easy and smooth, mine is so difficult, did you do anything to adjust it???

      @dkchef  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, I just use as is.
      If you have the newer one, the 2 piece quick detach for the S100 and newer, I found that lever very difficult to lift.

    Thanks for the video! I have the same snowblower attached for my 100 series tractor. I have an issue with the lift arm not engaging and I am not able to get the tractor to stay lifted on its own. Would you recommend anything I can try to troubleshoot? I thought about replacing the spring but unsure where to locate that part

      Perhaps there is dirt in the hole where the spring loaded pin locks in. Can you get the pin go in manually? Is the spring in place? Or is the cable corroded or binding, keeping the pin out?

    The snowblower you used is that for the 100s

    • @dkchef
      @dkchef  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes. A series 100 full frame blower. Easier to manage than the new quick release ones. The newer ones are very heavy to lift. These can me lifted easily with 1 hand

      Very nice. Snow blowing will be fun with that attached.

    Thanks for the video, I'm considering getting a S240 with the snow blower however I'm 69 and have a bad shoulder. I'm wondering how hard it is to raise and lower the blower with the handle

    • @dkchef
      @dkchef  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It does take effort. If your shoulder is bad, probably will be an issue. There is a $800+ power option. Easy to install. Or many add an inexpensive 12v winch.

      Where are you located. I have a JD power option.

      Thank you. Im in Canada. I may go with cub cadet then. I saw the guy lower it using his finger and thumb with no effort. Appreciate you quick response.

      @@peteryork6910 if you are near Ottawa there is a nice D155 with power lift and 48” deck. 89 hours

    Hello i have the same snowblower I don’t have the mounting hardware I was wondering if you could find a part number on the L bolts and the plate that connects mower to the snowblower thank you !

    • @dkchef

      Available on JD parts site. Easy to look up. partscatalog.deere.com/jdrc/search

      I too have the same snowblower but I can't find the mounting bracket part numbers anywhere (for the two brackets that accept the mounts towards the rear of the tractor). Tried looking for the parts in the link but I don't know the model of the snowblower. Any info would be much appreciated!

    is it possible to attach the snow blower attachment to the S100? (is that what's going on here?) I can't get a straight answer from anyone, but people have told me the S100 is too light for the snow blower attachment. I'll wrap the rear wheels in wheel chains, add weights, and my 300+ pound body - I think it will be heavy enough for traction.
    I don't need anything larger than an entry level mower because the amount of my property that is grass is less than one acre. That's why i don't want to spend money on a higher level mower, but still want the snow blower attachment for my paved 330 foot driveway

      I am not a JD expert. I think the main difference between your S100 and perhaps an older LA 125 is engine size, and few things like cruise or manual PTO. I think the frame quality or material weight is about the same for all the 100. Will the single cylinder on your S100 drive a snowblower? Sure.

    • @dkchef

      The S100 uses a different style. The newer JD 2 piece quick detach. More difficult to install and more difficult to lift with hand lever.
