gameranx when describing the beastiary I feel you should've gone with witcher 3 wild hunt as opposed to monster Hunter,don't get me wrong I love me some MHW, but wild hunt is a different titan of a game all together that will have a further reach than MH. Just my ten cence.
One thing I liked about the beastiary is that it kind of reflects atreaus’ character development. you can see his kind side when you read about the trolls and ancients and can see his anger and resentment for magbi and modi. As well as his little episode character development after he figures out he is a god and starts talking all high and mighty.

@@od4326 It's a matter of preference. I have both and I love both. I constantly play God of War over and over again because I prefer the story. The story of RDR2 was great, but I just prefer the story of GoW. I do play RDR2 frequently too because there's just way more to explore and to do over GoW. No need to say GoW is shit because you like RDR2 more lol. It won game of the year for a reason.
Its OK I bought my PS4 Pro last year for RD2...Most expensive game ever for me. I loved it but its hard to go back to that clunky slow mechanic...All in for GOW.

I like how in the beginning, the combat is more like assassins creed with it being much more safer since when you fight an enemy, the other enemies don’t start to attack, but as you progress you see a lot more of different sides you have to cover since the enemies don’t wait anymore and attack whenever

YES, it finally hits PC.
I gotta disagree with number 5 tbh, I'd say it's defo worth investing money into gear early on. Plus you can always save before a purchase and reload if you don't feel like it made a impact. But ignore gear purchases until you actually find gear in the wild will make the game much more difficult than you need.

In the beginning, I would've agreed with you. But, after beating the game, I definitely agree with the OP. I didn't even change gear on Kratos 'til the Blades of Chaos and that was only bc of the Epic level enchantments, lol. 🤷🏾💁🏾

You can still do all the side quests after the story. It doesn't matter if you rush through the story, you can complete everything at any point.
I basically just stormed through the story mode. Now, I get all of the sweet bonus stuff given. Side quests, Valkyrie bosses, Collectibles and killing off Odin’s ravens. Facing off against ancients and discovering new areas of the map. Exploring other dimensional rooms that were not included in the story mode. This game definitely has some life to it past the story mode for sure. I just wish that there was a new game plus mode that allowed me to start a new game with All of my weapons and armor.
Because, if anybody else remembers god of war two and God of war III, they both had new game plus modes.

iv been playing and its amazing some times there's struggles in killing some bosses but i'm still enjoying it and would recommend it to everybody

I bought it yesterday and it is absolutely amazing! Played for a few hours and boy is it difficult at times! I play at the second highest difficulty mode, which is equal to Hard. I died so many times when I just started. But it is so much fun. They did a great job with this game! Even on my shitty tv it looks breathtaking, so If you have a PS4, God of War is a must have!
Same lol. I just restarted a He's mode run with my son again. I haven't played in 3 years so I forgot everything and hard mode is HARD. Give Me God Of War Mode is just straight up for masochists 😂😂

Wow, why you gotta knock Nintendo? God of War is great. Zelda is great. God of War and Zelda are the two best games I've played in the past couple years. Zelda's probably better, but it doesn't have new game plus, and I don't want to collect deku seeds all over. Still, I'll keep both systems. Don't need an Xbox this time around though.

Just started playing this game a few days ago believe it or not and WOW. Needless to say I've watched quite a few tips videos. I haven't yet seen one saying to smash everything (crates, jars, ect...) for a small reward of hacksilver. It adds up. 😎✌️

Franchiseboy83 there is something specific in a certain area that has an Easter egg for it. Its not tied to kratos and his son. Its on a treasure map.

I'm only about two hours in so far. My household came down with nasty chest and sinus colds so I'm not feeling it when I get home from work lately. But! I am really enjoying it, particularly the new voice actor for kratos. Gorgeous even on a non pro system and very fun gameplay.

As for the other conversation I'm barely like 2 hours into GoW so I can't compare the RPG/quest/exploration aspect of it to Witcher 3 but just from the combat with the draugrs, the troll boss and the Stranger holy balls does GoW completely blow W3 out of the water in just those fights alone imo.

Tbh, all you need to prioritize on is the Runic. It helps a lot especially late game, you won't be able to hack and slash enemies by that time. The bosses are smarter as you go on and btw, you cannot defeat those Valkyries if you're just gonna hack and slash.
This might be a preference thing, but I'd highly suggest you change "Repeated Button Presses" in the Accessibility section of the options to "Hold" right from the get go. With that done, there's no need to tap a button ten thousand times just to open a door.

I’m loving it on my PS4 Pro but it is pretty damn complicated with the menus and upgrades. I was hoping to just play but there’s always “stuff” to tinker with and it distracts from the fun and beauty of the game.

cjones29hd totally! Imagine if Kratos would put on various pieces of armour or hand them to his son automatically when the player finds them. Seamlessly staying within the story. It just feels like so much effort went into making it such an epic story with so much cinematic production like a Hollywood blockbuster, but with the movie needing to constantly be paused to fiddle with a menu or settings. Nonetheless, the game is breathtaking!
Nice to hear the son is a good companion. Ellie and Elizabeth just wasn't well designed like everyone claimed they were.
TheUnholyOne While I hated Ellie's gameplay, The Last of Us and Bioshock: Infinite, what do you have against Elizabeth? She made herself useful by throwing you useful things and being able to open up tears, and did not get herself killed. She's the only thing I liked about the game. Well, her and Burial At Sea ep.2.
Got one for you guys I didn't realize until after halfway through a second playthrough, you can manually save and go back to some of those great boss fights. The game does such a great job with its autosaving I never bothered to check if I could manually save.
how do I use portals to fast travel? Im @ the first valkyrie boss now, but the only area I can travel to through these blue teleport doors is that shop, but I can't travel back to the valkyrie nor any other areas Ive been visiting before.

If only it were that fun. But it sounds like you have to spend half of the game in RPG menus. I mean really?! God of War an RPG? I was willing to accept light rpg elements but it sounds overly complicated. What’s even more infuriating is that I played but didn’t really love the past games. And the trailers for this game actually gave me a renewed interest in the previous titles and I really started loving them like never before. Huh... now I know how those butt hurt Spyro fans felt towards Skylanders. The difference is I’m willing to give the new thing a chance (once it arrives).

I can see that point but it's still fun. If it was a dark souls clone then I wouldn't have given it a second look. This is just my opinion but I absolutely hate Dark Souls. Just boring to me.

I’m at the point in the game where you get the Blades Of Chaos. This game is absolutely excellent!
I’m trying to figure out when I should start doing side quests.. I’ve tried doing two but I realized I didn’t have the thing I needed to get through the quest. I need some green thing now.. I’ve got two different kinds of arrows for the boy so far.. I imagine I’m missing a green one because of these things I keep seeing, but I could be wrong.
There’s still probably so much I don’t know yet.. I’ve bin playing this game for along time already. I’m only like one or two realms in. I really don’t know much about the realms.. I’ve tried to do a bit of research without spoiling the game for myself.
I really just wanna know when I should start trying to do side quests.
I did all the side quests as soon as they were available. When I got to the lake of nine, I went to each island before moving on to the story. When I lowered the lake again, I went back to the islands and did more stuff, did more missions for brok and sindri, etc. I was usually overleveled for the main missions though, but when I ran into a Valkyrie, they usually weren't too hard.
This is a real GOTY material just like pubg 🤣

I got a PS4 for this game, I'm 40 hours in, and I think I'm getting close to the main journey completion. I mainly play my X1, but as of 4/20/18, it's dead to me. One of the best games I've ever played, like The Last of Us had a baby with Kratos. Absolutely incredible game.
