Your soldering technique isn’t that bad. If you applied a little teeny bit of flux it would help your solder flow better on the pads and up the wire. It would make your soldering look considerably better. You also will avoid some of those cold joints.

Remember when The Verge made a how to build your own PC video? This is the FPV equivalent of that. Those solder "joints" are naaaaasty.
I'm pretty sure the front left arm was installed upside-down. The other 3 were installed in the true x config while it was put in for the squished x config.
I know this comment doesn't matter because this vid is a little old now but I thought I'd at least mention it
I am pretty much confused over cw and ccw motor thread (screw nut) when I went to buy motor on site i didn't see any where in motor description about cw or ccw, so my question is, if I use all cw motor won't the cw propeller loosen up and fly off

For the Sloop, it's actually best in Squished! True X for the Hook, Squished for the Sloop 😉
But in the end, it's a question of preference! Some people like it different ways

How to make cold solder joints 101
I'm sorry but there were a lot of bad soldering joints in that video. COAX cables from the VTX and the tracer are in an extremely not healthy position with a lot of uncomfortable twists and bends. I think that frame is not well designed for the new HD VTX systems. If anyone asked me I would not go for that one. Tanq's frame looks way better than that one. Sorry a big no for me.
About to say the samething ...leaving out "I'm sorry....this is sad to watch....this used to be a ok channel ...wow look what it turned out to be....

Nice build. Checked out the DIY kit. Don't need that one. Avatar and Crossfire $575.00. The pre built..wow 750 bucks. Stuff just keeps going up. And 95 bucks for the frame alone? I think I will pick up a frame. Thanks.
Yeah within 3 years quads are twice as much. It's insane, but also dji system drives the prices up.
Back in the days, the Alien was like $180, the Apex is also around $100 now. We actually have a lot more cheaper options now when it comes to frames than before but when you try out the stuff that's at the top of the price range, you usually get why it's there. The Hook V2 is the product of literally years of fine tuning and redesigning, PiratFrames also test most frames for over 1 year before coming selling it, going through hundreds of iterations. And with that price, they don't even pay themselves, it goes all back in development and supporting their sponsored pilots
