Of the four, i want the tanq the most, not having to repair stuff is more fun for me. One frame outside of these four that i feel should be mentioned is the TBS source One, for the simple reason that you will never run out of places to get spare parts, where as many other frames tend to be somewhat limited time only and parts dont swap to the next version.

29:22 with a bit of weight, a pilot can use momentum to intuitively maneuver a kwad through a path. A more “grippyfied” kwad is also a kwad that has to be flown constantly through a maneuver.
Once again the build designs reflect the tastes of the designer. Racers always have to constantly fly their lines to get a good time; dedicated free stylers, and bando rippers, are chasing gaps at all odd angles. Control impute can flub up a gap, so trusting in the kwads momentum to keep heading helps make reliable tricks.

About the weight issues: you can always increase the rigidity of your carbon fiber by going to T800 for example; it's 30% more rigid than T600 carbon fiber, and it allows for a lighter frame (~15-20% depending on the design).

  • @1965escamilla

  • @RestlessZombi

I feel like the Vanover frame is the best design from a technical perspective. As a new pilot that is, hopefully, about to build my first soon, the Tanq is the most appealing to me right now, followed by Skyliner, Vanny and lastly Moxy. Moxy is just designed as the perfect frame for Bubby that you can happen to buy, it has the most character and works great for him. New Challange LetsFlyRC has 3 packs to fly the Vanny and see if it holds up, no intentional crashing.

I know I am late to the party, but man.... this was funny af. I originally put this on to listen to while I was editing, but once they started talking about weight, I could not get any editing done. I kept getting distracted by the "friendly".... **heated**... debate. I paused it at 34:06 to start writing this comment, and it is a great frame to giggle at. In the durability portion, no one is going to argue with Sean in durability, so he gets to just giggle at them argue about second rank... (After finishing the video) Oh my goodness that was awesome even at the end where everyone but Vanover was happy and upbeat, he still seemed a bit annoyed at the others.... I guess being a competitive racer makes it like that.. Thank you for the great video, it was a joy to watch.

I'm new to drones but i have been into RC since the early 80s. For me i think that my first drone is going to be the Skylight but I will be modifying some of the Plates, i do have a lot of experience with carbon fiber and yes the grain of the weave is important but you can still use cut outs . Here's a old school tip , you can use super glue on the edges to keep the carbon fiber from splintering. I like Rotor riot and will be ordering from you guys soon as I can get enough money, I'm disabled and can't work anymore. It's too bad you guys don't sell HDzero, I'll just have to get those parts somewhere else and I do wish that I could get the Radiomaster Boxer Max, in red but with the Rotor riot gimbals, without being stuck buying the radio and the gimbals, because I can't afford to be stuck with the red ones that come with the Max, but so be it. I do wish that Drew would make a lite weight version of the Skylite and Skyliner

My question between vanover and letsflyrc frames. Given the same pilot flying each frame, what one would you have to replace more motors? Arms are far cheaper than motors so if an arm never breaks but that impact is taken by the motor. I’d much rather replace an arm than a motor.

I will eventually swap the letsflyrc motors for something a bit larger on my Tanq. I know that will sacrifice more flight time, but I do wish it had more power. If there is a Tanq V2, I'll get it, but I hope it comes with plate holes to help with mounting equipment. I'd also like to see cutouts along the waist of the top plate to accommodate traditional mounting of larger batteries.

I have been flying the Vannystyle for over a year with a Gopro 11(785 grams). I've crashed it 30+ times and have only broke two arms, no damage to any of the plates. Motor protection is not great, all of my front motors get scuffed up and I've bent a few bells. Build was a bit of a pain in the ass, I used a tmotor f7 pro stack and had to flip the FC to get it to squeez in there. I fly j40s and j37s for the most part, 5.1 inch props feel a little cramped. flight performance is superb, it's on rails with basically a BF 5 inch standard preset with some slight tweaks. Most likely going to get a demibot, tanq, or siren f5 for the next full build.

I don't care if they break quickly. A prop is quickly replaced if nuts are used. And the costs are just fun costs that I'm happy to accept if you can increase the fun...

You should build all four of those frames up with Identical components and tune. Then give us a Feel in the Field review.

I'd like to add that I have never broken an arm of my HD1's, and I have ran full speed into brick walls.

This is how you make a decision on what frame is best for you! Amazing video not just another TH-camr putting a frame together and assuming oh this is good or not with their bias complaining about press nuts stripping with their power tools and battery pads not being sticky enough

If I was going to buy one, it would be a Vanny frame , it’s the most elegant…The tank would be my second choice if it weighed 30-50 grams less.

If Vanny hasn't broken a top plate he needs to fly harder. 🙂

Do a blind test, pre-load one of each with a decent tune and let everyone blind text not knowing what they’re flying and give it a score. Then revel what was what.
