    i like this. bold aggressive front grill. about the gear shifter they have dared to try something new. I mean how often do you use it.twice during a ride in most cases. I do agree it would need some getting used to specially when reversing the car . I think its beating almost every other car in the category in terms of space. loaded with specs. I would love to give this a test drive. For now I have shortlisted this and Rav 4 2019 for my next car!

    Nice! I think it looks cool, others may not but to each their own! Classy interior too! Personally, I can get past the shifter. What would be interesting though is to see how the 1.5T performs with the 9-speed vs the Equinox which has the same engine paired with the older 6-speed.
    The 9-speed is interesting too in that GM designed it based on the 6-speed. I hope the reliability is better than that ZF 9-speed that FCA uses. Sounds promising for sure! Contrary to what the "GM haters" out there say, they're really coming out with great product!

      Rob the shifter is nothing new back in the 50's Dodge had a push button shifter on the dash! I remember Dodge had something in the 70's with a push button dash shifter. Dial a neutral drop!

    • @matthirn7858
      @matthirn7858 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that the ergonomics of the shifter buttons are fairly well thought out. This kind of change takes years to feel right. Some of us have been doing it the old way for 40 years.
      My brother has the Equinox and what I have noticed is that the 9 speed transmission has a bit more access to power at cruising speed. The huge downside I have experienced in this brutally cold Minnesota winter is that until it warms up, this transmission struggles in temperatures below zero. Power goes flat and it just misses a gear or two trying to get out of first gear. Sometimes it will be late with the second shift also. Frankly, I am not surprised. Nine gears is a lot of shifting to do with a thoroughly frozen transmission.

    9 speed is great! But... those shifter buttons are a total failure. No paddle shifter... and the + and - buttons are not gonna be convenient at all. You will always have to take your eyes off the road to change gears. How many accidental button press will occur between the shifter and air conditioning...

    • @matthirn7858
      @matthirn7858 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After four months of using this new style of shifting, I have to say that it has a couple of advantages over the old method of moving a lever through a set travel pattern: the first being that the driver can instantly select the gear instead of moving a selector along until getting to the desired gear and secondly, it's fly-by-wire intelligent, meaning that it will auto select park if you come to a stop and accidentally turn the car off without selecting park first. Similarly, it will choose neutral if you attempt to engage reverse while actively going forward.

    Very nice SUV! Very stylish, until you see the EXTRA LARGE "GMC" badging on the front & back...totally ruins the beautiful front grill. Can't GMC reduce the freagin size of those letters? geeez! They should take a design tip from Chevy, who at least offered a blacked out color of their chevy badge, which isn't that hard on the eyes.

    For a new product is sure looks clunky and plasticky inside. It's almost as if they haven't learned a thing in 30 years since the Japanese brands began eating GM alive and now we have Kia and other Korean brands leaving in them in the dust. Sometimes I wonder if they are doing this on purpose. Nobody can be that stubborn and dumb can they?

    What the hell was GM thinking when they designed the 2.0 liter engine to require Premium fuel? That will kill sales. What good is better fuel economy if premium costs an extra 25%

    • @mike-smoke868

      The GM owners manual does

    • @CeritoLivesInDC
      @CeritoLivesInDC 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's not true. Required vs recommended. The Terrain is recommended meaning you can use mid grade or low grade though high test is recommended. Required means it's a must to use premium fuel. You will have a voided warranty if required and you use less than premium. Again, the Terrain is recommended not required.

    • @1decee
      @1decee 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Straight from the owners manual; Premium Recommended Fuel
      Use premium 93 octane unleaded
      gasoline in your vehicle. Unleaded
      gasoline with an octane rating as
      low as 87 may be used, but it will
      reduce performance and fuel
      economy.
