Longhunter - Spirit of the Deer

- The setting:
On a cool windy day, I set out to collect firewood for the Winter that is quickly approaching. While on the trail, I spook a deer, and get a lucky shot on it. I field dress it and bring a tenderloin back with me to camp.
Disclaimer: This is for entertainment. I don't claim to be a professional nor 100% accurate. I'm not a reenactor but I do enjoy keeping history alive...if you are UNABLE to see past historical inaccuracies for the sake of entertainment, then this video is probably not for you.
Where's my rifle?: Although I'm pretending to be in the early 1800's, this is indeed current times and where this is filmed, walking around with a firearm is frowned upon.

Dale, I don’t know how I missed this one. This has to be one of my favorite videos that I have seen from you! Everything from your get up to your video shots and your storyline really captured the whole feeling. The journal entries were a very creative touch also. Congrats on the deer too! Hey Ben, yeah this is the video I told you I was slowly working on. I think it slid under alot of people’s radar, my Longhunter videos tend to be more popular as far as views go, but this one hasn’t gained much traction. Luckily that’s not my main reason for posting videos. This is the one that’s similar to yours, where you utilize the different parts of the deer. I had some footage where I was taking the hide off but I was so focused on the task at hand that I never noticed the big shadow of my camera and tripod on everything, so I had to scrap all that. Kind of kills the early 1800’s vibe when there’s a shadow of modern technology in the middle of the scene. Oh well, that’s how it goes sometimes. Definitely glad you stopped by and saw it. You’ve played a great part in me getting involved with all the primitive and rustic stuff in the first place. Hope you’re doing well buddy. Take care!
