- HolidayWorld.com The Raven was voted the #1 Wooden Roller Coaster on the Planet for multiple years back in the 1990s through 2002 (it was built in 1995) and continues to be a Top 10 wooden coaster for many. Using our GoPro camera, we shot this POV (point-of-view) Raven ride in HD on July 11, 2012. Please note: Guests are not - under any conditions - permitted to take cameras on our roller coasters and most other rides.
I rode the Raven recently, just yesterday. My cousin, mom, little sister, her best friend, and my moms bf went to Holiday world. Me and my cousin, Makayla, we're searching up rides, it was my 2nd time going. We decided on the Raven. All day Makayla and I debated wether to ride it or not. We rode it near the end of the day. When in line, we were scared deathless and jabbering nonsence. When we were buckled in and the Raven took off, as soon as we went down the first hill, I screamed all the way through it, she didn't. We rode it again and I didn't scream. The restraints were secure and I felt safe. It really is an enjoyable coaster! We're looking forward to trying the Legend next time we come.
I rode it yesterday and loved it. I love the 1080p quality of this video. I feel like I am there again.
This was my first coaster ever! Went on it when my 5th grade class went to Holiday World for a trip. Many memories!

lol I remember riding this and being utterly terrified- like I felt like I was gonna pass out. Now that I watch this video I feel like a wimp 😂 it's not even that bad!

I took my son on this ride yesterday, he is 8. I don't think he will be getting on anymore roller coasters anytime soon. If you're looking for a thrill it is AWESOME. After riding this I was done tho and realized my body is no longer in it's 20's. LOL.. Today I'm extremely sore, I think of how tensed up my body got.
Love this coaster! It's not as intense as the Voyage or the Legend, but it's still pretty great and goes through a beautiful stretch of woods with a great view of the lake.
My first and last coaster...I miss living down there.
The Raven almost made me loose my shoe, I was gonna vomit when the ride went down it was like HAHA!! And when I went to the river I prayed to God! XD scariest minute of my life I'll never get back..

You have beginner's coasters and the huge adrenaline coasters, and then there are the in-between coasters like this one. These more my speed, and I like this one.
I will always love this ride. It was my first, what i call "real", roller coaster ever.

This is actually one of the rides I rode over 5 times even though I hate rollercoasters! First rollercoaster, first favorite! Love the name as well! Reminds me of my favorite Teen Titans GO! Character, Raven! Plus that is my favorite bird!
I RODE THIS THING 2 TIMES. I KEPT HIDING BEHIND FRIEND( my face ) BUT IF YOU GO TO HOLIDAY WORLD I RECOMMEND THIS RIDE TO ANYONE 😄😄😄

my whole family made me ride this when i was 8. i was so scared but after that it was so fun! the last time i rode i had my hands in the air! its really fun. i also went on the Legend and its so fun because you go through the water park! i love it! but never the Voyage! ;)

It sure is one of the 10 best I've been on. It's in some pretty good company with the Beast at Kings Island, El Toro at Six Flags Great Adventure, Thunderbolt at Kennywood, and the Legend & the Voyage at Holiday World. The Voyage is the Best wooden coaster I've ridden so far.
During the ride lets just say I screamed like a girl while still trying to be the protective mother keeping my arms over my son's lab, whose face was frozen in pure terror. Over all it was a good ride. My aunt who also rode it with her daughter felt the same was as I did. Her daughter enjoyed the ride and she was tall enough to ride it,she has a very small build and was jerked around pretty hard in the ride and slammed her head against the side of her seat and today has a HUGE bruise on her ear.

The Raven was my first coaster to ride back in 1999. I only got on it b/c my sister did lol I didn't like it but I'm glad I faced my fear :)

This is one awesome ride. One of the best wooden coasters ever. But at 1:22 I think it could use some trackwork.
this was my first roller coaster ever besides a ferris wheel XD and it terrified me because im just not much of a roller coaster gal I guess but if you like intense rides then its for you cause the first drop scareed the hell outta me haha . but I love holiday worlds energy and the water park is my fav . love you holiday world (my mom and I do love the scrambler though.)

Hi guys! How high does this roller coaster go? And is extremely bumpy? I really want to ride this coaster but I'm a tad nervous.
It doesn't go that high like 90 feet maybe and it kinda goes straight at the top so it's not to bad. And it is pretty jerky but if you brace yourself you'll be fine!
Actually, you'll have a more comfortable ride if you don't brace yourself. Try to "go with it" and keep your limbs loose - it's a lot more fun.
which roller coaster- the raven, legend, and voyage is the most similar to the Beast At Kings Island
The Raven is an out and back into the woods, and like the Beast, you can only see part of the ride, but it's way shorter. Some people referred to it as the Baby Beast for a while. The Legend has a bunch of long, loud helixes where you feel like the cars are going to come off the tracks, but it doesn't have the loping hills, the woods, or the dramatic build up of the Beast. I don't think the Voyage is anything like the Beast -- it's loaded with relentless physical thrills and is super intense. The Beast looks intense, and has a couple of moments, but doesn't compare to what the Voyage does at all.

Is this a good first time rollercoaster? is the first drop that bad? I don't care about the jerkiness or the speed, my main problem is drops. So would this be good for me?
It was pretty bad the first time, but it was my VERY first rollar coaster so, but if you hold your hands in the air it is probably the best rollar caoster so, Probably yes!
It's not bad if you ride it twice
This was my first "big" roller coaster and after you get past the first drop, it's really fun but extremely rough and jerky. I don't like drops at all but it was worth it.
This was my first roller coaster and I was SO OVERWHELMED FROM THE DROP AND ALL THE JERKS!! But me and sister rode is twice at night, and it was well worth the long line. It was so great!!
I rode this roller coaster and it beat me up it gave me burses and a sore is there a way you can make it not as rough

It got retracked it is much more tolerable now a little ruff still but great also try riding the legend if u think that was bad

To me, The Voyage & Raven both seem a lot less rough than The Legend. I have ridden this coaster along with Phoenix) a few years back at Check E. Cheese's. Good times!

Best coaster in the park IMO. Voyage will surpass it once it gets timberliners, though.
i say the voyage is the best out of all of them, it the longest to me and it goes really, really high compared to the legend

Yes it is, but it makes it WAY more scary!
This ride was rough. I love wooden coasters but not this one. It left a bruise on my left arm the next day. My husband said he noticed a number of people with bruises on their arms, probably from this ride. If you don't like fast jerky rides, then don't ride this one. It's not kid friendly in my opinion.
Going to go next Satrday going to leave Friday Afternoon I think my 1st roller coaster is going to be this or the Voyage my moms friend and her kid want Wesday she told me to ride the the Raven 1st I am only 14 can't wait I am not afraid of hights I have a little back problems not that bad :D it does not stop me from ridding rides! can't wait hope it does not Rain next Satrday
