The early stuff is great. I have the first three 12” singles. I picked up the Vegas cd (can’t remember the name of it) and it was poor - they seemed to have lost their muse.
The Cocteau Twins are one of the few bands I can think of that can sound both beautiful and unsettling at the same time. Their 1990's output lacks the unsettling nature of their music that drove me to them; the music is only beautiful, but not much else.

This was 'that session' which introduced me to the band. Went to see them as soon as they did some London gigs. Golden times.
Great recordings - much meatier than the album versions. Love that bass sound!
