    I was riding the warping and switched to harpoon, way more fun and surfy. Took it silverton heli trip, needed to set bindings back but rode great in deep pow when I did. Rides really fast through moguls and no problem going full speed through glade runs. So easy to turn. Just moved to Colorado and like supporting a local company.

      Been in the market for a twin pig this next season. Waiting to pull the trigger. What are your thoughts on the warp pig? Why did you want to switch to another board?

    • @jeffadams9699

      You like the fun and surfy feel to the Harpoon, which is freaking awesome. I am looking for that type of ride as well, but my main concern of that type of board is the stability issues at higher speeds on a day with no powder and crusty conditions on groomers at Breck and Keystone. I don't want to be flying down a run and wash out because of crappy conditions. By the way, welcome to Colorado!

    • @choski76
      @choski76 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Jeff Adams good reasoning Jeff cuz there's lotsa of groomers days in CO. And at those hills. The stuff just gets skied off by so many riders there.

    I decided on a 159 harpoon grassroots art edition. 6'1", 175lb and a 12boot. Was swayed into a 159 over 156 by the Never Summer reps. If I had smaller feet I would have went 156 all day.
    I have a friend visiting with an identical 156 I'll have to try out.

    Great review. I was debating this same thing and ended up with the Harpoon. LOVE IT. It may not be as "serious" as the Orca but it does everything on mountain and is WAY MORE FUN. that nimbleness and playfulness is especially great in the trees where it really shines.

    I have 6 Never summer boards... I loved the Harpoon so much that I got 2 of them. But then I purchased the orca last year. Hands down the best board I have ever ridden. The main differences that I noticed right away with the Orca was weight (much lighter), the magnatraction on the Orca which grips so well on harder pack snow and the POP. It feels like having springs under your feet when riding hard and going from edge to edge. Harpoon is my second favorite but def not an Orca killer!

      Yes! 100%. It is a super easy board to ride and still gives you great performance. It’s a board that gives you back what you put into it, if you want to ride really mellow and keep it playful it does that.. or if you want to turn it up and charge on it, it has your back. If you want to chat more about it my link is in the description I would be happy to talk more on Curated 🤙

    Interesting.... Stuck on that very decision. I'm a big fan of Lib boards but might go with the Harpoon for exactly the reasons you talk about. Nimble is good. Fit the Lib Double Dip into a review. I am way impressed with that board in almost all conditions. Short contact points, hybrid profile, insane float. I think it's one of their most overlooked decks.

    Ok, so Colby is 6'2" 160 lbs and Franco is 5'11" 210 lbs. I've read in the comments that the Harpoon was a 152, but I can't find any mentioning of the length of the Orca? 153 perhaps..? Regardless, it would have been interesting to know if the verdicts had been different if Colby had used a 156 or even 159 Harpoon (vs a 156/159 Orca, if the tested board really was a 153).

      @Curatedcom  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey! Bobby from Curated here. Honestly man you can’t really go wrong with either, it really depends on what you wanna get out of the Harpoon. Objectively, the Contact Pros match the Harpoon perfectly with a 5/10 baseplate / highback flex rating vs the Forces with a 7/10 rating on both.
      My anecdotal opinion - go with the Contact Pros. The Harpoon is so nimble that a little bit of additional surf-like feel from a softer binding is more appealing in my eyes. I rode the Harpoon with Burton Malavitas (CANNOT say good enough things about them) that are just about the same flex as the Contact Pro’s and had a blaaaaaast!
      If you wanna snag a pair, shoot me a message at (650) 284-3325 to connect with me on Curated.com! I can answer any questions and handle all warranties, returns, etc thereafter. I also just love to talk snowboarding so, let’s chat! Haha thanks for the comment man, cheers!

    I’m 5’11, 180 pounds, boot 11, above intermediate but under advanced
    Really starting to feel out what I enjoy, but I’m gravitating towards powder & sharp cuts through trees. Definitely enjoying carving & a bit of park, but that’s how I prioritize.
    Was leaning towards the orca, but hoping my skill level will match up to it. Currently snapping around on a capita Mercury, but wanting something a bit more powder centric with some quick whip given I live in japan.
    Which would you recommend & what size for my build? Really appreciate it, thanks!

      Swift is very quick edge to edge, cuts like a knife, more torsional flex. Orca is better for wider lines, more pop and tail for landing, better float I think . I ride Orca (‘20) but borrowed my friend’s Swift which is 2cm smaller than mine. I actually liked the Swift but was riding trees on old crust pow that day, overall would recommend Orca.

    I’ve been riding snowboards for the last 20 years. I’ve gone to the mountains once a year, so I still feel like a experienced novice and have always rented a board. I’m heading to Aspen in February and want to buy a board for the first time and have no idea what to get.
    Here is what I do know:
    I’m 43
    6’5”
    245
    Size 14 boot
    My riding style is enjoying controlled, easy to carve, groomers, powder, blues or blue blacks. I’m looking for a Board thats easy to switch between both edge’s with confidence.
    I don’t plan to ride switch, do park or really do any jumps. Just want to enjoy a moderate fast ride.

This thing wanted to be ridden hard and fast! Minds out of the gutter guys! LOL. And I don't want to have to ride a board like that all day long, where you have to bring your A game or the board will put you on your ass. The Harpoon or Orca seem right up my alley. Hey Jeff! Alex, snowboard expert @ Curated.com ( www.curated.com/experts/alex.v ) - Both of those boards are similar as they're both volume-shifted (meant to be ridden shorter and wider) - the main difference between the two are the flexes and cores. The Harpoon has more of a mid-flex and is a bit surfier than the 2022 LT Orca which is a bit more oriented for technical terrain and has a stiffer flex.
