- Episode 18 of my SOBO thru hike of the Pacific Crest Trail takes me across 163 miles of the stunning desert over 8 days.
After saying goodbye to my husband Brian in the last episode, I head out from Big Bear Lake to hike farther south on the PCT. The challenge of the adjustment surprises me! I start to get used to being alone again after a few days.
I really hope you enjoy joining me over the next 8 days of thru hiking the Pacific Crest Trail :)
Thanks so much for watching!
Love, Krysta aka Story xoxo

You are a beautiful person, as I said before, 2600 miles is a lot, people who don't hike, don't know the struggling everyday. You make the best out of it. So great!
Esthetician here, proud of you for wearing daily sunscreen 💕crazy it was frozen!
Choose your own adventure, how fun an challenging!! Probably similar to the original PCT.
The full moon out and the sun rising, what a gift!!
Was that the sun or the moon over the city at dark? Amazing!!!!
I cried with you when Brian left. Thanks for sharing your journey. Hoping to thru hike in 2025.
WOW, you courage shone through in this video👏👏! Despite the challenges, you made it through and I love how you are willing to share your vulnerable times with us. Your videos have been SO wonderful to follow, sad to think this journey is almost over, but know you will continue with future journey’s. Thanks, as always, for sharing your adventures👍👏💗
Some tough moments but you made it!! Thanks for the closeup 🌸 at 6:43.
Hi Krysta. Thank you so much for taking us with you on this journey. I will never be able to do that kind of adventure for health reasons but living it through you is the best I could ask for. It's been incredible. I can't believe we're almost at the end. Greetings from Quebec. A
It has been a pleasure watching your journey, but what a few days of bad weather but u handled It so well
I can’t believe you’re almost to the of the PCT! I’ll miss you, Krista❤
So close! Yes--terrible night in a tent in a storm. That was me in the North Cascades in 2014. So excited for next episode!
Have really enjoyed these. Going to be happy you finished but sad there won't be any more videos!
I followed you last year on Tiktok but I love those longer videos here now and especially that you're open about the struggles! I find it really reassuring to see that everyone struggles on those long hikes at certain points. I was wondering, if you edited your Tiktok videos while camping and without any internet, which editing app did you use for that? Can't wait for your future adventures! Love from Germany!
As you were hiking down in the washed-out riverbed, surrounded by canyon walls, I was thinking it was just a good thing you were not there during a torrential rainstorm. The threat of flash floods in the desert is very real, and I know of situations in which people were swept away by fast-moving water they could not escape from. Had you been several miles behind where you stopped, I would have been worried, but you cleared the washed-out area prior to the storm hitting. Timing is everything.
Yay, almost there.
Can't believe you're almost there. Such an amazing job you've done. Can't wait to see you finish.
Hey Krysta! It would be awesome to hear how you got yourself comfortable with hiking alone, especially here on Vancouver island with as many cougars as we have. I am a runner & dream of being in the trails but have so much fear. I love your videos & can’t wait for the videos from your guys trip from Victoria to Tofino!
Loved watching you trek through the areas near Palm Springs! The stretch near Whitewater Preserve is the first time (and only time) I’ve ever set foot on the PCT. ☺️
Sunday
Go girl!!!
Hope you are enjoying the WCT on your V2T hike! I’m wondering how you stay warm when it’s so cold your water bottles freeze?! Do you wear every layer you have? Or heat water?
Sorry you had to go solo again, but it’s cool you persevered.
Didn't film Eagle Rock ?? 9 Lives 🐾
Sleep with water bottles and battery
I’m scared for you. I’m sorry I’m not very adventurous
Die ist irre. Rennt durch die Gegend um km zu sammeln. Warum?
Noch nie von Konzept des Wanderns gehört? 😂
Is that you, Norbert? This is Pine from 2016.
