@TotallydubbedHD what about compared to the sony ht-g700? Mostly the Dolby atmos aspect.

I bought this for the price nothing comes close at this price the 9.1 is better I played around with the Samsung over priced the Bose I even tried the 5.1 with upfiring speaker it was good but didn't come with sub woofer the best value is 5.1 for best sound experience 9.1
Just switched from a Samsung soundbar to the JBL 500 and there is no comparison. The JBL is just so much better than my old Samsung in terms of sound quality and fullness.

True that was the point of replacing the Samsung. The Samsung price equivalent the Q700 is 200 watts less total power so the JBL seemed like a better choice. I'm quite happy with the sound. @@TotallydubbedHD

Just went from JBL 2.1 to the 500. Huge difference watching movies. Much deeper bass on lower volume.

I bought the JBL 3.1 with the 10” sub like 3/4 years ago , powerful sub but the only downsize is sound-bar lacks mids , when watching tv shows and movies you have to have the remote on hand because you constantly turn volume up and down ,annoying and it ruins the experience, if they fixed this issue on the 5.1 and 9.1 , I may upgrade soon , great review btw .

Just bought myself this, saved £100 through student discount 😉 if it’s anything like JBL’s portable Bluetooth speakers the sound will be amazing!
EDIT: Having watched this, perhaps it’s not the best option.. what would you suggest out of this, the Denon S517 and the Samsung Q800B? Price aside, what would you say gives the best experience for films and music? Thanks!

@@TotallydubbedHD how does the Jbl 5.1 subwoofer sound compare to the Samsung Q800C subwoofer. What one gets lower and has more bass? Even if the Jbl is 10 inches compared to the Samsungs 8 inch is there much difference?

Depends on the budget. Sennheiser Ambeo is the best I've come across in a soundbar system.

HW-Q700C or this Bar 500? Found both at an equal price. 320 watts vs 590 but it seems you had more negative input on this bar.

Hello, regarding the HDMI connections, am I able to use a cable box with this soundbar? It looks like I can connect the cable box to the soundbar hdmi in and then connect the soundbar to the tv using the arc hdmi. Is that correct?

I found listening to music really good BUT tv audio via eArc sucks. My old Marshall Stanmore II is better when watching TV. Any recommended set up or EQ settings that will make it better?

Would suggest it over the other two mentioned. Although, the 700B is better across the mids

Yes it will without issues. Just that you won't get uncompressed Atmos.

Suggest watching the reviews, but I'd pick the Samsung
Q800B. Just bought it today from Croma. While the sub of the JBL is powerful, it lacks in the overall sound coming from the bar. Compared them both side to side, for about half and hour. And for Indian homes, Q800b is a better option.

not overly, but it's recommended to be by the TV; due to how the acoustics work.

Not the B variant, but the A was reviewed; see description - it's very similar in performance.
Just got it and its not that good...the Denon bar itself sounds much better..this one is harsh sounding..and also the Pure Voice doesnt work..i saw on Reddit other people have the same problem..shame on JBL..

Also told them the App should have the option for Pure Voice and Smart Mode...
