    I've had this setup on my 09 Toyota Tacoma for about 3 years now. It perfectly seals the oil and does not stick out past the skid plate so I don't have to work about it getting damaged when going offroad. As for the slower drain time, I use it for greasing the U-joints and rotating the tires. Either way I have not had any oily mess since installing the Valvomax on my truck.

    When draining, just pinch tube at catch jug, then squeeze out air. Let oil flow. The weight of oil in tube will siphon the oil quicker. Just science. Open fill cap also.

    I have on 19 tacoma, doesn't hang low past skit plate so no splatter or oil on hand.
    07 tsx since drain bolt angles down slightly didn't want something too big possibly catch under car.
    13 accord I used fumoto since drain bolt is more parallel so larger was ok. I like them.

  • @Discovery123.

    Well, I pretty sure this make the oil change more clean and less mess, but the oil filter is also a big mess too.

    • @HaiTran
      @HaiTran  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I suppose if you’re somehow flinging oil everywhere while taking the oil filter off considering that it usually just drips straight down and considering that many cars have top mounted oil filters…

    • @noahsuess2806
      @noahsuess2806 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Put a zip lock over the filter. Just read that on someone else’s comments on another video and I can’t believe I didn’t think of it sooner.

    • @gregb6953
      @gregb6953 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When changing the filter I start by loosening the filter just enough that it'll spin by hand, and then I punch a hole in it. It lets the oil drain out, although a lot slower than just taking the filter off, but it contains the mess depending on where your filter is. It's not a big deal on my truck as it's easily accessible, and the filter sits vertical. On my diesel tractor, the filter sits horizontal, so no matter how long I let the oil drain from the plug, as soon as I took the filter off it ran down the frame. Punching the hole in and letting it drain before taking it off, I only get a few drops which is easily wiped up. The filter on my tractor is not in a convenient spot, so this prevents a lot of clean up frustration.

    Nice design. However, unlike my stand-alone Fumoto and EZ Drain valves, this Valvomax unit uses a auxiliary device to open/close the valve and I can see myself misplacing it or someone else inadvertently throwing it away.

    I have one on my Suzuki GSX-S1000F motorcycle and love it. But it sticks straight out of the front of the lower part of the engine I want to put one on my Lexus RX350, but like the car in your video, the oil drain plug screws into an angled section of the oil pan which makes the Valvomax stick down below the lowest part of the oil pan. I know it isn't likely that anything would be that close to the oil pan, but I am still a bit worried that something could hit the ValvoMax since it hangs down lower than the oil pan. Nice video.

      On my 2017 accord the valve would point straight back so would not be hit by anything. Also, when you do an oil change even using the factory drain plug there will still be residual oil left in the motor even if you let it drain for a week

      I have an EZ Oil Drain Valve on my walk behind ExMark mower. I like it but, like the Fumoto, it is a lever and I prefer the system on the ValvoMax. It isn't likely, but the lever could get hit and dump the oil. The ValvoMax is sealed internally then has the cap which would hold in the oil even if the internal seal failed.

    • @HaiTran
      @HaiTran  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I did not but can tell it’s the right amount considering how much I had to put in. Realistically, the plug shouldn’t prevent you from getting any more or less oil drained considering it’s doing the exact same thing as a regular drain plug. You’re draining from the same location and not making any major changes. You’re just changing the spout.

    I installed the Valvomax Oil Drain the last time I changes my oil and finally got to use this Valvomax today. I have a 2019 Ford Expedition with 6 quarts of oil. Connecting the drain hose was easy but it took me 45 minutes to drain 6 quarts of oil. Yes I did not make any mess on my driveway but 30 minutes into the draining I was about to take this F#&K*&G thing out of the car. Good thing my son asked me to drop him off the train station using my other car. When I came back thank goodness it was done. It normally takes me around 30 minutes to complete my oil change when I had the OEM drain plug but with drips on my driveway. Today it took me over an hour to complete the oil change. Is it worth the it.....

    • @HaiTran
      @HaiTran  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s crazy. I wonder what’s going on with your Expedition that’s making it take so long because I’ve used it with 4/5 quart cars and it takes only a few minutes. I can’t imagine 6 quarts taking much longer.
