I’ve watched a lot of them the last few days! Finally decided on this one. I’ve only owned smaller drones in the past so looking forward to a larger one with nice features.
After a few sleepless nights checking all of the options in the sub-$200 drone market, this video helped me decide on The Beast Pro as my first foray into decent explorer drones. In my opinion, having watched videos on almost all of the different drones available, the video quality and features on this model at this price point can't be beat. Thanks!
Thanks for doing these great budget drone reviews - just ordered this one after comparing JJRCX7, SJRC F11PRO and the MJXRC BUGS4W as well as Holystone and Hubsan Zino. Boiled down to: Foldable, gimbal, flight time and ... did I say foldable? This one hit the sweet spot. Great reviews, Cap, keep 'em comin'!

Same here first time buyer my neighbor purchased the phantom 3 standard I do love it I was also going to buy an expensive mavic but then I reconsidered trying to find something around 3:00 or 400 with decent range and fly time do you guys agree this would be a good fit thank you for any reply in advance can't wait to get one just want to make a good choice
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Tbh dji spark is better. Maybe a little pricey but well worth. Mavic mini is janky and not a flagship, rather a midranger. Spark IS a flagship.
I got mine today (New Jersey in the USA) after ordering from TomTop on 2 April. First flight outside in a confined area near the house was a hoot (I wanted to be outside but sheltered from the wind). Control was smooth and surprisingly easy considering that this was my first time flying a drone (or any type of remote controlled aircraft). Did struggle some with left/right front/back after turning the drone towards me, and scraped the propellors on the side of the house once. But flying was easier after I took it into an open area. There was lots of time to adjust my control inputs and fly as intended. I still need to sort through headless mode (it did not do what I expected/hoped), and get the video working properly (lag going to my phone). But my first impression is that it is a pretty good beginners drone. Smooth and easy to control, powerful enough to deal with moderate wind, and with reasonable battery life. My only concern is that there were only 2 spare propellors. My house experience put some dings into all 4 that are installed on the drone, and having a spare set or two would seem prudent. But the only replacements by drone model that I find online are from China with 6-10 weeks delivery. And I can't find any general guidance on how to specify and select replacement propellors other than buying ones listed specifically for the drone model. I can't even tell if propellers for the SG906 beast can be used for the Beast Pro. Could sure use a video with guidance on how to spec and source replacement propellers (hint...hint ). Thanks for all your help.

Hey Captain Drone, this is a nice video. It covers a lot of the features. I just bought myself the same SG906 Pro drone about 2 weeks ago. I have tested the max height and also managed to get some shots near our lake. Seems like a pretty good investment for me specially on the budget. There are some drawbacks on the stability of image given this is a 2 axis gimbal and not having a linear control for changing the tilt angle of the camera. But other than that this seems pretty nice.

It looks like to me there is a noticeable "pink hue" in the center of the drone video footage. Look at 4:29 still frame. 5:44 (could be the sun on the clouds). 6:04.

Thought you should know, the app has a slider for the gimbal which moves it up and down as you slide. It's much better than the buttons on the physical remote control.
But also the slider in the app make not a slow smoth moving of the gimbal. I mean it must be possible to move the gimbal slowly, because if the gimbal operating in his normal "stabilasation" mode it can also moves slowly ;) This is one of my main complains about this drone. My idea is to find a way to communicate with the drone by a selfmade remote. Than maybe it would be possible to sent commands to move slowly ;)
@@RudolfZobel In my experience with the slider in the app, it may not be as smooth as possible, but it is still better than using the buttons on the physical remote control. I found that when you move the slider slowly it can be smooth, but you have to be "delicate" with it.
Yes, and make sure u dont use the bottom camera by mistake.... Unless u want absolute shit photo's! Try it and see!

I think I should have bought this one instead of the F8. Video looks pretty good. No fish-eye! And follow-me seems OK. Also really like the fact you can fly it low without the props in view.

Yay!! You finally got the review out, very pleased with the drone myself and have had it for just a tad bit over a month. I recently had my identity stolen so I'm currently out of the social drone review game for a bit till it's all cleared up.. BUT! This drone is a way step up from the prior model and I managed to get the introduction price with 3 batteries and the bag for only 150$😎👍 I was disappointed in the fact that when I opened up the remote control to remove the God awful beep that you can hear for miles from it's snug cave on the too wide of the board I stumbled upon this very, very short and singular antenna mounted inside the controller just maybe 3 inches long. So once again they have made the "antennas" really just a remote stand when fully extended and which it didn't bother me too much but gave me the urge to add in another antenna and extend the lengths, so now I actually have a custom built dual antenna with each located inside each arm of the controller, AND I just needed to install my own lithium pack with a Micro USB charging port for the controller and also a USB-A output port to charge my mobile device because boy oh boy, taking the drone out with 3 batteries sure does drain your phone, especially when it's having to do all the video processing while controlling the quad for the most part. So now I have a very solid feel and built RC that lasts well beyond 10 hours on a full charge even while charging a device, plus it's completely silent! Calibrating is a sitch when using it's lights to know what you're doing but also adding in a diode for the camera will make it have smooth operation and modding the batteries to charge by balance charger and a JST connection is so much better than waiting the 4 hours to charge each battery by micro USB lol all who buy this drone have fun and mess around with it a little! I might even upgrade the motors and all the insides to see how close I can make it become a Professional drone rather than spending 800+ it's only gonna be MAYBE 300+ 🤣 FANTASTIC as usual CD see you on the next one! (Aerial predator 4K / Q20 PRO / X11S / Aircus 4k) That's all the same drone but really wanna see if they are 4k as they say lol

Well can I just say I was amazed by the delivery from china to the UK in only 5 days and for free!! Amazing , and thanks to you I have invested in a (pardon the pun) a BEAST of a drone for the price. For me this drone suits my needs well, as I already had a drone so I knew the basics, and this beast pro drone is cool, although I will upgrade to the mavic mini when this one breaks, but it's a solid piece of kit.

Bought this one while waiting on my Fimi X8 SE 2020. Banggood has taken over two months so far. Purchased 4/16 and it’s 6/21 and not shipped yet. I bought this 906 pro from Tom Top, purchased last Friday and got it 5 days later from China all the way to Texas, $30 US for expedited DHL shipping. Great video! This only makes my decision between the jjrc x11 pro and the sg906 pro so much harder. They both seem to fly quick and well. I’m not trying to make to be a cinematographer with the drone, it’s just for fun. So the only pro for me is that the sg906 is $40 cheaper.
The X 11 has no gumball for all I know. So the 906P should be the better buy by far.
Nice drone, I am between this one and the Holy stone hs 720E. Which one you think is better? Or should I spend more and get DJI mini?

I ordered this drone from Bangood 2 days ago.. Hoping it comes fast enough but from china id gonna take a few weeks anyway.. done a bunch of research and this drone seemed to be the best bang for your buck.. what did you think overall about the drone as far as built wise and durable-ness. Hi Captain Drone. After watching many of your reviews on inexpensive hobby-grade drones, I took the plunge and ordered this drone. I am fairly new to drones, although I have been flying fixed-wing RC aircraft for years and mini toy drones indoors recently. I ordered my ZLRC SG906 PRO from TOMTOP for $176.99 total (with two batteries and the nice carrying case shipped to my door in Boston, USA) 25 days ago, and it finally arrived from China today. I am planning to use it for taking videos of my RC aircraft as well as my motorcycles in motion for my fledgling TH-cam channel. Thank you for your wonderful reviews and stay safe and healthy.

Dang it I have to buy this one eventually. Getting the quality and characteristics this offers, plus including a good 2 axis gimbal with a actual good camera...under / around $200.00 with 2 to 3 batteries is a friggin nice deal. The closest anyone is getting to a dji's camera capabilities(grain of salt here) for the cost. Personally id rather have one of these and wait to buy a spark used in another year or so and just have it all! Insert maniacal evil laughter here.😏
:UPDATE: I took my BEAST PRO outside today and sat down and really dug in with TH-cam videos, the instructions, and the App on my phone and finally figured it all out. I now seriously love my Sg906 Beast Pro! If you do proper calibration on a level surface,have good connectivity, and have it in mode 2 while outside, this Drone is more than worth the $150 I paid! I'm even thinking about buying another and of course some extra batteries. I airbrushed and made a custom Heli/Launch pad and the return to home feature brought it right back and landed it in the dead center of the H which is where I took off from. The follow me mode works perfectly, and it's very stable and knowing how to raise and lower the gimbal helped me to take some great pics! What really helped me was making little labels to put on the transmitter for what does what, figuring out what means what on the app helped alot too. I'm very happy with the Sg906 Beast Pro as my 2nd Drone ever. Sure beats my old Syma X5C lol

I have had this for about a month. It flies great but I get horrible wifi distance: it has bad picture delay if not within 50 yards or so, or it freezes altogether. Once it freezes it can refuse to reconnect even when brought close. Do you thoughts as to if this is fixable and if it is does it sound like a drone or tablet problem????? Frustrating. Thanks.

Hi, I just received the sg906 pro and have a question. I hold the power button the drone lights up and pairs with the control but once I release the button the drone shuts down. All 4 lights lite up on the battery test and the control shows full battery. Is something defaulting?

I got the SG106 and it never been flown as it still in the box. Really wish I had a gps drone. It's your videos that helps me choose what drone and prise suits me
It’s interesting that this very inexpensive drone has a follow-me mode, but the Mavic Mini doesn’t.
another example of dji artificially limiting their drones. They just don't want it to self sabotage their mavic air sales even more than it already did.
@Ayedun Jossy Oladipupo but it does have other automated modes so it doesn't make sense to me.
Phone GPS follow-me isn't very reliable. So DJI is afraid stupid people will crash it and ask their money back.

The camera was looking at the upper most level which puts props in the frame in most drones, vice looking straight forward, which to me tells me props in the frame are pretty much non-existent on this drone for normal flying.

@@meetmeoutback86 Distance is mentioned in the each video review based on the advertized specs. However in real life, distance depends on your phone and where you fly.

Not sure if it is the cold because at the start there is no jello but later in the video (after flying in the cold for a bit) some jello shows up.

Turns out, THE SG906 PRO IS A BAD TO THE BONE BUDGET DRONE!
I absolutely love it as my introductory cinema drone to prepare for a career as a commercial UAV pilot!
I took it on my second week of flights to the local RC airfield, where I even got to try a DJI Mavic Air for the first time. My mind connected the three experiences together.
I now understand why DJI stands out above all and why they understandably cost so much, how much the first drone lacked, and compared how FANTASTIC the SG906 Pro is for its price.
I couldn't be happier, I love it and enjoy every second of flying it!
Money damn well spent in my book.

I know this is not the model but with an ZLRC SG907 is there a phone app other than HFun Pro that I can use please as HFun Pro really is a load of garbage with the 907 causing loads of video lagging...Thanks

I had the 501s and loved it. Got me hooked. However, I really doubt it will be updated with such a deep feature as way points at this stage of its life.

Hubsan did make a 501 A X Pro that has waypoints. However it uses a different controller, and the controller cannot be used on the older models.

I'm just a hack/first-timer. I was gonna fork out thousands for a Mavic 2 Pro. My buddy told me about this drone. (Looks like I'm now gonna save over 2000 Aussie dollars)
It's not a Mavic Pro , prob not even a Mini but sure looks like value for money and well capable considering the price. I'm waiting on mine as well. To be honest I dont care about the camera . I just want a decent flyer that I can fly via FPV , not interested in the video quality. Not planning on recording anything.

Ordered from TomTop on 22 May, delivered yesterday 4 June in Edinburgh, Scotland - which is pretty good, especially in these days.
Now to do my wee CAA 'education package', decifer the tiny writing in the instruction booklet, learn to read Chinese to know how the app works, await easing of lockdown restrictions, then I can 'try to fly' !

I've just ordered this drone ! I watched other reviews on warm weather and they don't get that jello effect , so for that price is a no brainer for a beginner drone . I've ordered it from tomtop to Mexico does it arrive in 15 days ? Thanks again for an amazing review Captain !

@@ramongomez7803 that drone is bigger than the VTi Phoenix drone. It's good for first time fliers. You must calibrate it or it will fly forward before take off. Fly in an open space area (a must) with this drone.

Hey Captain Drone! Took your advice, bought this drone. I’m a total newbie with this hobby. In fact, I’ve never flown before. I had ordered a Zino 2 back in January that still hasn’t arrived. So, when I saw this video I said why not. If I’m gonna learn, I’d rather crash a less expensive craft than the Zino 2, lol. Today was my first flight. Considering, I never did this before, I’m amazed at well this drone handled and how easy it was to fly. It held position perfectly. I spent time practicing the basic movements and was able to grab some decent footage at the same time. So all in all, I’m trying to say thanks for the recommendation. As a beginner, this drone provided me a great initial experience to the hobby. Have a great day!
