Looks like the obstacle avoidance module operation has been changed. I just received the drone over the weekend. When course changes are made with the right stick the obstacle avoidance module turns in that directions and it does not scan back and forth. prevents movement in any direction in close quarters. Also did not come with a separate obstacle avoidance manual. Love your videos. I flew this drone in gusting winds and it was more stable than i ever expected.
I bought the SG 906 pro 2 couple of months ago impressed with the build quality just had a look at the price of the one you’re reviewing £60 more than the one I bought which included two batteries. Only issue even outside no buildings takes a while to locate satellites.

What would be nice is if you had control of the Obstacles avoidance setting. Set it's distance to like, 4 feet if you're going slow but maybe 20 feet (or metric equivalent) if you're going fast. That way you can fly it slowly in big buildings or in woods and between the houses. Maybe it'll catch on as an add on to other drones and someone will open the setting a bit.

You likely already know that this is the twin to EX0 Ranger 7 plus. I have the Ranger 7 plus and needed a new battery ,so after pricing the replacement after tax I would have paid 90.00. So, after researching and discovering that this drone is the same and the battery for the sg906max is under 40.00 after tax I bought this battery for my EXO Ranger plus and it works perfectly! 😂 👍
Just ordered my Max with 2B for $223.38, including shipping service (American special line(8-23Days)) which is $13.39. Been debating for months which way to go. I was going with Hubsan 2 plus but they got too greedy and upped the price. Mini 2 nice range but restrictions and no obstacle avoidance. Plan now is to play with this for some time and wait for all technologies to improve and shoot for something better for later 2021.
Dude, what a crack up. When you put the laser on the top of the drone and you were showing what it look like and showing the three axis gimbal to camera, it looks like a person with his eyes and his arms held out it’s a crack up. It’s totally bad ass very futuristic. It looks like the robot from “The day the earth stood still.” If the laser would only shoot a laser beam so you could have laser combat.

😊looks great could be my next model. Basically obstacle avoidance is not necessary, its a gimmick just don't need it. I get an sd Card and reader soon and I can upload a few flights myself of Hubsan H501. Need get maybe a cheap FPV system and a Sportcam I can strap to my Bugs 6 and I will upload those flights too.
The obstacle avoidance sensor is kinda gimicky on this drone. Also, they should have added a setting in the app to turn it in/off or set a distance limit for the avoidance system instead of the 20m default.
Nice obstacle avoidance... That's if you're trying to avoid a mountain in a field. 20m is way to far for the software to block it. Chances to run out of battery juice is way bigger than hitting it.
In the meantime I got my drone delivered. It looks pretty solid and everything was complete. I ordered a spare set of wings because they might be the first things to be damaged and a spare obstacle avoidance unit in case it lands on top. Never being done by anyone but I'm sure I'll be the first to do so😜 I ordered a second battery as well so I don't have to go home after 26 minutes of flight. All this costed me about € 280,00 which is about $ 300,00. What I missed in the whole package is a plug for a wall socket. The only way I can charge everything now is with the USB connection from my computer or via a power-bank. Maybe they didn't include it because they sell it all over the world and the plugs are not the same in every country, but for that price i think they could provide a plug for Europe. The weather over here in the Netherlands has been so bad in the last weeks that I haven't been able to fly the drone yet🌧🌬I can hardly wait to try it out.......

We can’t go for a walk or a car ride and fly a drone in the uk, even in a secluded area, it counts as leisure time and not exercise under lockdown rules, which last till mid feb, so the police can fine you, but I’ve flown my drone from my front drive and back garden and I send it up over 200 feet so it’s well out of everybody’s way. But it’s too cold at the moment.
I've watched a lot of your GREAT videos. Are the mounting brackets on the controllers able to fit/hold all all sizes of smart phones? I have an iPhone 6s and was wondering if the brackets are close enough to hold a phone this short (about 5 1/2 inches)
Usually yes as long as you have no case on the phone. Have a look at the phone in my vid (I use many different ones)... probably it was an iPhone 11 Pro Max or was I using an Android Galaxy Note 8?.. Go check out the size of it compared to the old 6s and you'll have your answer.

This dron does have the best specs out of all budget drones: its flies 26 minutes, has obstacle acoidance, Rated 6 wind resistance, goes 1200 meters(3 miles), sony camera onboard 4k etc...
WOW! This drone looks exactly like the EXO Ranger drone. The EXO has the same avoidance system exactly. I picked up the EXO drone with two extra batteries and the avoidance system for less than $400.00. How much does this drone cost?

I have SG906 MAX2. The drone works well, except for one problem. Although I calibrate the gimbal before flying, after a few minutes of flight, the horizon is not straight and is tilted. In flight, the rear buttons can only adjust the gimbal up and down, not level the horizon. How to solve this problem?

Initially I liked the obstacle lazer but 20 metres is crazy. I'm not sure how that would be advantageous in a normal flying situation. Thanks for sharing mate. 😁👍

Considering Xmas present for myself - my first drone as SG906 Max or SG907 Max ... haven't decided yet (recently retired, so plenty of time :) ). Q : Is there a way of charging a spare battery externally or can you only charge in the drone ?

How do you get the phone and the controller to connect up at the same time??? I could only get one or the other to work at one time. Also, I will say that the obstacle avoidance worked rather well, but you have to beware of the return home function. If the GPS is 3 meters off, you might land right in a tree and need a friend to get it out (ask me how I know). Overall, it is a fun drone at a reasonable price.
A good feature to be included in a budget drone. It kind of annoying for beginners to fly this drone because of the obstacle avoidance. Looking forward for the actual flight demo. Thumbs up! 👍🙂

I can't believe I got a video out before you did. I did just an unboxing of the SG906 Max. It's been windy in Texas so couldn't really fly it.

I think the laser detector should target backwards which is more useful, just like the car radar.

I have sg907 max ..so hard to get replacement parts. Blades ,Batteries ect. Can I use parts from similar more easily found drones

It records in over 1080p which is std HD 🤔

If the horizon goes off on an angle, just YAW the drone quickly left or right then stop and see if it goes level

Can I fly this DRONE in INDIA. As 5G services are not available here in India. More over about the WIFI do we have to make hotspot with our 4G system.
