I noticed you had anti shake on when you did the app settings. I saw a review that said video footage is better with it off?? Worth a try next time. Thanks for you review most probably going to get the beast pro.
Record off, stabilization off, 4K correction off. All this settings are software and doesn't do any good. (this is all what I research, before ordering one). Most important thing is to do correct calibration. Notice how horizon is angled? This drone have gimbal, this shouldn't happen with correct calibration.
Idaho Quadcopter they have just released the SG908 that has a 3-axis gimbal, 1200 metre control range and 800 metre wifi range (video transmission.) its a beast drone just with far superior range and a 3 axis gimbal.
At the beginning of the week I got the drone, the flight was good and easy to operate. Relative to its value. The photography was also good. I have a question, how long to charge until the battery is full.
@@shukikadar9156 if you plug the charging cable into a charger that plugs into a wall socket it should charge a lot faster than a USB on your laptop or PC.

I purchased this SG906 Max Pro2 and it came yesterday. I did not find instructions in English either. For the price, I think with all reviews I’ve seen that it’s a good price. I went with the 3 axis gimbal. I have not flown it yet as I’m a beginner and so I’m looking to other’s experiences as I absorb all I can. It’s really cold here in Utah so not in a hurry. Good content as you “wing it”!

Hope you are enjoying the quest of finding a good, inexpensive drone, Marcus. I would be too frustrated with all the work involved in acquiring, learning and testing these drones and then editing and posting a YT about them, when I can just go fly my MM and be so richly rewarded with the flight experience and video. However, I understand not everyone can (or wants to) spend $400 for a drone. Kudos to you for accepting the challenges of finding an inexpensive drone for folks!

I didn't have the issue you had with the SD card video. Pointing straight down did have a little Jell-O however over all for the price I am very pleased. Thank you for the review.
What a shame because it flies well and the camera isn't bad but the damn shakes and Jello makes it suck. Why include a stabilized gimbal that isn't fully stabilized? Lol The odd part is it isn't that far off from being really good. There doesn't appear to be much vibes. The gimbal mostly suffers from horizontal shakes which simply means it is very poorly tuned and designed. May not have taken much more tuning to get this gimbal much better. Good job Marcus!
i have the sg906 beast. same software. if you press the sd button on the app it becomes hd and records in 2k. it has auto take off. it is one of the 2 buttons on the left. tested. the gimbals on the control you have to press them real hard to go deep in. i have it for one year and they have never come off. any questions just ask me...i know it pretty well...

Does your phone have auto dimming for the screen Marcus? Mine used to be bright on cloudy days and quite dim on sunny days. I turned auto dimming off and turned screen brightness up to maximum

Hi I have watched a few reviews on this drone which prompted me to order one? your comments about video quality doesn't seem to agree with other reviews Captain Drones review was all good so not sure why your video quality was so bad? have you tried again to check it, or maybe there is a fault with your drones camera its always possible. Anyway I like watching your reviews I think maybe before you put out a You Tube video you first iron out the little hiccups `to be better received, I hope you dont mind my comment it is only to give constructed feed back. Hi, I just received the sg906 pro and have a question. I hold the power button the drone lights up and pairs with the control but once I release the button the drone shuts down. All 4 lights lite up on the battery test and the control shows full battery. Is something defaulting?
The sg906 pro is my first drone and I am getting a severely delayed image (minutes not seconds). Also when I can't get the microsoft video player to play the video files from my sd card. What am I doing wrong? Is my drone defective? Please help.

Yea it's TRUE who would fly around a tower...🤣 never gave it a good review and my gimble sticks have never come out ..🤣..not good with its features makes the drone look bad and it has 1200 meters fpv if you didn't know form the instructions...Zzzzz.omg

Too bad when a Pro didn't prepare himself at all: Nothing read, wrong batteries marked, every move learned live in front of the camera. I think he should be a bit more prepared before a tutorial. But it's good to know that there are good and affordable drones.

Idaho Quadcopter He actually has a video with the Pro model as well. He thought the cold was causing the shaky video. It sounds like from your review not to be the case. I ordered it for practice and learning. I’ve also ordered the Fimi X8 SE 2020 and the Magic Air 2.

I saw a little jello in some of the video, other video didn't look to bad for this price class. I'm glad it flew well for you. But for my money, I would save up and spend a little more the Hubsan Zino 1. Great review.

If you get a chance see if you can post a video on the Hubsan 501. I have the MP2 but still love to fly the 501 plus if it flys away your only out $100 for the drone by itself. I have a neighbor across the street that hates drones with a passion so I try to fly a figure 8 pattern over the house as much as possible 😁

Hi buddy you can use the large buttons left and right press for five seconds left button right button in each case the drone bleepscthen calibrate its 1200 meters range I think it's a learning process buddy mine never lost fpv and worked fine
@@IdahoQuadcopter I have researched this quite a bit. I didn't hear the audible beeps to calibrate with both L and R buttons (5 second holds). Would this affect video shake?
Most corrupt mp4 files can be recovered as the corruption is only caused by not terminating the file correctly. You can usually tell if you can save it by clicking on it on your PC and seeing if it has 'volume' ie says it has a size of a goodly number of MBs. If it says it's 0 MBs, you can't. To do so, you need two zip files - recover_mp4 and ffmpeg that you can download for free wih instructions. Once you've unzipped them and created the necessary folders, all you need is a good, uncorrupted mp4 file created by the same device that the process uses as a 'reference'. Then you copy the 'bad' file into the folder and run a three-step process in MSDOS. It sounds complicated but isn't and I've only had one mp4 file that I couldn't recover that way because it was too badly damaged by something other than just forgetting to press the 'stop recording' button. There are demos on TH-cam but I've simplified it a bit for my own use so should perhaps put a demo up myself.

Please keep power saving, and auto-brightness settings off in your mobile phone settings before flying, it will greatly help you if the phone not going dark in daylight/mid-flight. Mobile phone brightness has nothing to do with the mobile phone being HOT/WARM, if the mobile phone's brightness in the screen is automatically turning dark it is because 1. Your mobile phone's display setting is set to auto-brightness adjust in direct sunlight (can be changed by going into display settings in your mobile phone) 2. Mobile battery is not 100% charged or power-saving feature in mobile is switched ON (can be changed by going into power settings in your mobile phone). Mind, you will need to keep your phone fully charged before flying, as setting the mobile phone on manual brightness will drain mobile phone battery faster.
Well I’m disappointed that you weren’t prepared and you have the lowest end phone possible. If you read the manual you’ll understand what your problems were. I honestly felt that you had not reviewed the instructions on the app or had a clue of what you were doing. Your surprise at yourself did make me smile. Sorry but I’ll never get this 15 mins back.
Yes, I wish I could afford a better phone than my iPhone 11 Pro Max. I mean it was $1600, I just can't afford a $2000 phone. I'm jealous of those that can. Thank you for those 15 minutes though. 👍
Hey Marcus, just found a Fimi crash video that proves my theory. In the video you can see the back right motor snap off the drone while it's hovering. The guy that posted the video his user name is MIR the name of the video is FIMI x8 SE unexpected crash. Posted about a hour ago. He runs the video in slow motion several times. The back right broke off in air and the front right broke when it hit the ground.
Marcus, I'm sooooooo glad you had the final word there on the video quality. I was getting a little worried there with some of your more optimistic comments. To me, you certainly couldn't publish that kind of video. It would only be good to see for yourself and then add to your PCs trash bin. I know I've got my own perception, but for another $150 you could get a Zino with very decent video, something that you can share. And weren't those controller gimbals hilarious! Anyway, good of you to try another drone option for us to see. You never know when you'll find a diamond in the rough with these guys!! Take care, be safe!

Hey I appreciate the review! Honestly your flying conditions are awful for a review. You're flying right around a radio tower. I couldn't even get through the whole video. You bash this drone pretty badly in the reviews but you didn't properly review the thing. I had high hopes for this review!
I seem to remember you having some trouble getting this drone to work correctly. My problem, left rear motor and right front motor will fail in flight. Doing a shoot yesterday, it started behaving like a wounded duck and I landed quickly. Restarted drone, remote, phone, it was ok for a bit, then happened again. Any ideas? Thanks.
My beast pro videos are too shaky, I don't even think about sharing them online cuz it moves too much....this drone needs a software upgrade, the app is way too limited, 0 camera settings like iso , exposure, etc. That would make this drone reaaaally amazing. And sale much more I'm sure.
At the end of the day. When when all said and done. In the final analysis I think the Hubsan H501S-S is a better starter drone. Well proven and much improved since it’s release about the time of the Norman Conquest.
Thanks but no. This was my 6 or 7th flight. It was flying ok, then got all wobbly. On restart it was obvious that the motors may have a short, but it is intermittent.

On watching this video, I must say that for the price of this little 'Beast' I was quite impressed until time point 21:25 when I saw the dreaded jello. What a shame! The picture quality itself was, as you stated 'acceptable' but the jello really lets this drone down. Great review Marcus.

Difficult to control i find... There's always a Noise or Blinking light's telling u there's an issue wth something! Battery was like 10 mins Top's.., & hr's to Charge! Flimsy Construction! Drone feel's Very Warm to the touch after being on a short time! It's very cheap! Came in an Opened Box...! You'll have ur Propeller's destroyed b4 u get to take aNy good video or photo's wth it! Buy the DJI Mini and save urself the Headache!!!
I think that the video would be more stable if you went into settings in the app and turned anti-shake on. That's what Matt Goode does and it works. Also, switch the SD in the top right of the screen to HD.

@@markcozzie If you are not worried about video, that opens a number if options. Often Banggood has the Eachine EX4 for around $190. I know people have flown that one out over 1 KM. Any drone that uses your phone's WiFi like the Beast Pro does for transmission signal will be limited range wise.
Not sure why there were so many problems. Maybe defective drone or bad settings or interference. Forget the Zino or DJI for now. Both excellent drones but price target is not even close. Those are double+ the price of this one currently, with similar battery and case options, and mine flies great and the video is perfectly acceptable for the price and even usable professionally with proper editing and staging. Nobody buys a 200 dollar drone to film weddings or real estate anyway or most any commercial use. And if you are making home movies of the kids or grand kids at the beach or park then NOBODY cares except maybe you. I love Idaho Quadcopter and Quadcopter101 videos and others, but I feel like he went into this with way wrong and too high expectations. My Zino and DJI never gets flown. The DJI was last used to film a friends daughters wedding months ago and months before that for some beach footage and the Zino has been through three batteries just checking it out. Both are in their bags and you can literally see the dust collecting on them. Both my co-workers have their own DJI as well and theirs also sit in the bags. The ones that get flown all the time after work are the 50-200 dollar drones because we can be reckless with them flying under my truck, around trees or through barbed wire fences and not be concerned about damage and repairs are cheap if something goes wrong. I've known lots of people with expensive drones which live their lives as doorstops. Go cheaper and you will have more fun and wait on the more expensive stuff until there is a real need. Maybe when the base Zino drops 100 bucks it will be a better option. All three are 100 over where they should be right now. I think some people and reviewers sometimes forget the fun factor of just flying. Personal opinion, there is no other drone with performance, features, and quality under the Zino that beats the sg906 pro for the price and you can get two of them and accessories/extra props for the price of the Zino.
@@IdahoQuadcopter What I meant is that sometimes you need to be practical. If the product is what you need/want except for a minor thing, it's not worth missing out on it. Okay this is a budget drone, but if all the rest is acceptable that would not stop me from getting it. The important thing is that you know what you're getting for the money

Do yourself a favor Find an English manual and calibrate it Correctly When you do You will be amazed By the difference. You are having an awful lot of problems with it right now that you just will not have if you calibrate it correctly. I started Flying less than a week ago It's very user-friendly great for beginners and my Beast is Rocksteady

That is the biggest disappointment. The gimbal just does not do it's job.

@@jimoray3 You likely could glue them in. Subsequently, I found that if I twisted them in firmly, they held pretty good.

What would you recommend for $150 that includes GPS, a gimbal, 1080p, and folding arms with brushless motors? Thanks a million for sharing man.
I have not found one at that price point that I can recommend. The Hubsan Zino at about $280 is probably where you will want to start.
What is the max wind speed you think could still safely use drone?
In high speed mode, I'm sure 10 or 12 mph would be okay.

Hi, I just received the sg906 pro and have a question. I hold the power button the drone lights up and pairs with the control but once I release the button the drone shuts down. All 4 lights lite up on the battery test and the control shows full battery. Is something defaulting?
Hold the button down until you hear the chimes from the drone. 👍

The permissions don't seem to be too invasive except for camera and microphone!!!
Looks like it requires Camera, microphone, Location, Phone status, Storage, and others like Bluetooth connection, allow full network access, prevent phone from sleeping, etc.
Not too sure why it would need to access your phone's camera and microphone since all recording is done from the drone itself! There should be no need for camera and microphone access...

Too bad when a Pro didn't prepare himself at all: Nothing read, wrong batteries marked, every move learned live in front of the camera. I think he should be a bit more prepared before a tutorial. But it's good to know that there are good and affordable drones.

Yes, Capt Drone had the one without a gimbal. I'd say that is the one to get, as the gimbal doesn't do much to stabilize the video. 👍
Idaho Quadcopter He actually has a video with the Pro model as well. He thought the cold was causing the shaky video. It sounds like from your review not to be the case. I ordered it for practice and learning. I’ve also ordered the Fimi X8 SE 2020 and the Magic Air 2.

I saw a little jello in some of the video, other video didn't look to bad for this price class. I'm glad it flew well for you. But for my money, I would save up and spend a little more the Hubsan Zino 1. Great review.

Yes, it will record to your mobile device.
Figured out you need FAT... the video auto rolls to a new file after 5 mins I think.... so you can stitch together!!!

Hi buddy you can use the large buttons left and right press for five seconds left button right button in each case the drone bleepscthen calibrate its 1200 meters range I think it's a learning process buddy mine never lost fpv and worked fine

@@IdahoQuadcopter I have researched this quite a bit. I didn't hear the audible beeps to calibrate with both L and R buttons (5 second holds). Would this affect video shake?

I have 2 of the sg not pro with no sd card and no gimbal or zoom and I paid same price you did, Sir, for that price you can't find a better drone
Most corrupt mp4 files can be recovered as the corruption is only caused by not terminating the file correctly. You can usually tell if you can save it by clicking on it on your PC and seeing if it has 'volume' ie says it has a size of a goodly number of MBs. If it says it's 0 MBs, you can't. To do so, you need two zip files - recover_mp4 and ffmpeg that you can download for free wih instructions. Once you've unzipped them and created the necessary folders, all you need is a good, uncorrupted mp4 file created by the same device that the process uses as a 'reference'. Then you copy the 'bad' file into the folder and run a three-step process in MSDOS. It sounds complicated but isn't and I've only had one mp4 file that I couldn't recover that way because it was too badly damaged by something other than just forgetting to press the 'stop recording' button. There are demos on TH-cam but I've simplified it a bit for my own use so should perhaps put a demo up myself.

Please keep power saving, and auto-brightness settings off in your mobile phone settings before flying, it will greatly help you if the phone not going dark in daylight/mid-flight. Mobile phone brightness has nothing to do with the mobile phone being HOT/WARM, if the mobile phone's brightness in the screen is automatically turning dark it is because 1. Your mobile phone's display setting is set to auto-brightness adjust in direct sunlight (can be changed by going into display settings in your mobile phone) 2. Mobile battery is not 100% charged or power-saving feature in mobile is switched ON (can be changed by going into power settings in your mobile phone). Mind, you will need to keep your phone fully charged before flying, as setting the mobile phone on manual brightness will drain mobile phone battery faster.

Yes, I wish I could afford a better phone than my iPhone 11 Pro Max. I mean it was $1600, I just can't afford a $2000 phone. I'm jealous of those that can. Thank you for those 15 minutes though. 👍
Hey Marcus, just found a Fimi crash video that proves my theory. In the video you can see the back right motor snap off the drone while it's hovering. The guy that posted the video his user name is MIR the name of the video is FIMI x8 SE unexpected crash.
Posted about a hour ago. He runs the video in slow motion several times. The back right broke off in air and the front right broke when it hit the ground.

Yeah, it looks like the motor broke off the rear arm, then the front arm broke on impact.

Marcus, I'm sooooooo glad you had the final word there on the video quality. I was getting a little worried there with some of your more optimistic comments. To me, you certainly couldn't publish that kind of video. It would only be good to see for yourself and then add to your PCs trash bin. I know I've got my own perception, but for another $150 you could get a Zino with very decent video, something that you can share. And weren't those controller gimbals hilarious!
Anyway, good of you to try another drone option for us to see. You never know when you'll find a diamond in the rough with these guys!! Take care, be safe!

Hey I appreciate the review! Honestly your flying conditions are awful for a review. You're flying right around a radio tower. I couldn't even get through the whole video. You bash this drone pretty badly in the reviews but you didn't properly review the thing. I had high hopes for this review!
I fly around that cell tower with a lot of drones. Sadly, the camera, and gimbal on the SG906 are just not up to the task. Thank you for your comment.
Actually, the camera looks good except that shaky gimbal. Your phone is causing delay in the FPV video.
Yeah, it's too bad the gimbal didn't do a better job.
At the same time, most of the shaking was side-to-side, which is where the gimbal does not have an axis.
My other camera drone records video fine but I can never view it. So I just upload it to google drive and download it and it worked!!!!

I seem to remember you having some trouble getting this drone to work correctly. My problem, left rear motor and right front motor will fail in flight. Doing a shoot yesterday, it started behaving like a wounded duck and I landed quickly. Restarted drone, remote, phone, it was ok for a bit, then happened again. Any ideas? Thanks.
My beast pro videos are too shaky, I don't even think about sharing them online cuz it moves too much....this drone needs a software upgrade, the app is way too limited, 0 camera settings like iso , exposure, etc. That would make this drone reaaaally amazing. And sale much more I'm sure.
Yes, the shaky video really is disappointing on the SG906.
At the end of the day. When when all said and done. In the final analysis I think the Hubsan H501S-S is a better starter drone. Well proven and much improved since it’s release about the time of the Norman Conquest.

Thanks but no. This was my 6 or 7th flight. It was flying ok, then got all wobbly. On restart it was obvious that the motors may have a short, but it is intermittent.

You will need a newer phone with atleast 6GB of RAM to get rid of the lag. my LGv20 has a 10second lag and my v40 and none at all

On watching this video, I must say that for the price of this little 'Beast' I was quite impressed until time point 21:25 when I saw the dreaded jello. What a shame! The picture quality itself was, as you stated 'acceptable' but the jello really lets this drone down. Great review Marcus.

Difficult to control i find... There's always a Noise or Blinking light's telling u there's an issue wth something! Battery was like 10 mins Top's.., & hr's to Charge! Flimsy Construction! Drone feel's Very Warm to the touch after being on a short time! It's very cheap! Came in an Opened Box...! You'll have ur Propeller's destroyed b4 u get to take aNy good video or photo's wth it! Buy the DJI Mini and save urself the Headache!!!

I think that the video would be more stable if you went into settings in the app and turned anti-shake on. That's what Matt Goode does and it works. Also, switch the SD in the top right of the screen to HD.

@@markcozzie If you are not worried about video, that opens a number if options. Often Banggood has the Eachine EX4 for around $190. I know people have flown that one out over 1 KM. Any drone that uses your phone's WiFi like the Beast Pro does for transmission signal will be limited range wise.

Not sure why there were so many problems. Maybe defective drone or bad settings or interference. Forget the Zino or DJI for now. Both excellent drones but price target is not even close. Those are double+ the price of this one currently, with similar battery and case options, and mine flies great and the video is perfectly acceptable for the price and even usable professionally with proper editing and staging. Nobody buys a 200 dollar drone to film weddings or real estate anyway or most any commercial use. And if you are making home movies of the kids or grand kids at the beach or park then NOBODY cares except maybe you. I love Idaho Quadcopter and Quadcopter101 videos and others, but I feel like he went into this with way wrong and too high expectations. My Zino and DJI never gets flown. The DJI was last used to film a friends daughters wedding months ago and months before that for some beach footage and the Zino has been through three batteries just checking it out. Both are in their bags and you can literally see the dust collecting on them. Both my co-workers have their own DJI as well and theirs also sit in the bags. The ones that get flown all the time after work are the 50-200 dollar drones because we can be reckless with them flying under my truck, around trees or through barbed wire fences and not be concerned about damage and repairs are cheap if something goes wrong. I've known lots of people with expensive drones which live their lives as doorstops. Go cheaper and you will have more fun and wait on the more expensive stuff until there is a real need. Maybe when the base Zino drops 100 bucks it will be a better option. All three are 100 over where they should be right now. I think some people and reviewers sometimes forget the fun factor of just flying. Personal opinion, there is no other drone with performance, features, and quality under the Zino that beats the sg906 pro for the price and you can get two of them and accessories/extra props for the price of the Zino.
I'd just superglue the darn sticks. not a reason to not buy this drone it seems.

Okay this is a budget drone, but if all the rest is acceptable that would not stop me from getting it. The important thing is that you know what you're getting for the money

Do yourself a favor Find an English manual and calibrate it Correctly When you do You will be amazed By the difference. You are having an awful lot of problems with it right now that you just will not have if you calibrate it correctly. I started Flying less than a week ago It's very user-friendly great for beginners and my Beast is Rocksteady
