Your tutorial is so clear-cut and concise! Thank you so much for this, this is the exact type of Edwardian hat that I was looking for, I couldn't find a hat exactly like it in any online store (I should've known lol!) I'm so glad to find out that I can make one myself, thanks to your detailed tutorial 💛
I think the word you are looking for instead of ‘scratch” is the word Score.at least that’s what I’ve heard. I loved this video soooo much I have to make my own hat. Thank you so much for this tutorial!
Hey! I’m making a hat for a small antique Teddy Bear and the measurements you gave are for human heads. If i shrunk the measurements down would it change anything to ruin the hat?
I am making this hat tonight for a costume and one of the measurements is wrong. For the long rectangle section, it needs to be 113 cm, not 40, unless I'm misunderstanding the instructions entirely. If the radius of the circle for the top of the hat is 18 combined cm, then the diameter is 36 cm. Circumference (the length it would take to go around the circle) is made from 2Pi x radius, for 113 cm. I didn't check the measurements at first and made it the 40 cm and it barely around my forearm, definitely not my hat.
To get the length of the rectangle, the circumference you need to calculate is the one of the 10 cm radius circle, not the outer one. Then the rectangle should be approximatively 11 cm x 63 cm. For better stability 65 should be fine
Finally i found a comprehensive tutorial. Thank you. I'll share when I make mine

Love the hat but how the heck do you keep it on your head without it falling off?
it’s already explained, i attached a plastic headband to the hat. i do that to every of my hat video
Sorry I saw that when I watched video I’ve watched so many and they never explain how to keep it on your head. I love the hat adorable.
@@tamarabarnette4994 thanks. just try it, i’m sure it will not move even if you’re dancing 💃🏽🕺🏻 just pick the right headband

Wow, you did it so well! Hoping to try it out, thank you :D
don’t wait, try it
Now THIS hat I might try. (Also, please excuse my ignorance but were these clothes worn in Indonesia in Edwardian times? )
The Europeans who lived in Indonesia wore Edwardian. The Netherlands lived for 350years in our country.
I love your tutorial so much, I appreciate. But I don't understand your measurements in Cm, please can you be using inches?
Use calculator 😅. I don’t use inches, in Indonesia, we use cm. 1 inches = 2,54 cm
wow wow wow really i loved it 👏
really? thanks

of course not
Mbak, kalau stretch velvetnya ganti satin bisa g ya?
bisa aja sih. tapi satin lebih licin dan tangannya mesti lebih lihai. satin stretch mungkin?
great tutorial! i'm going to make it for my doll ^_^
ouw you’re gonna resize the scale to make it smaller? great idea
@@oliveavianca yes! ^_^ i'll credit you later on my video (if i succeed lol)
ahhh it’s so easy i’m sure you can do it well
Hahaha, as soon as I started watching Olives millinery tutorials, I had the same thought: making that for the dolls!!

thanks. yes it’s very versatile, it should be custumized to the user’s head size. thanks a lot for making it. have a nice party 👋🏻✋🏻

Why the velcro and hairband? Not really Edwardian.
so you can change the design easier as you like. you can make it more Edwardian if you like, just upgrade it.
I like, I'm just worried that without the ribbons and flowers its not going to look neat
that’s the point
Love 💞 love
