"I need a hat. I don't know how to make a hat. I'm going to jump in and make a hat anyways!" It turned out wonderfully. Excellent job and description of how you did it. Thanks so much for sharing your project. Take care.
If my great-grandmother, a milliner in the late 1890’s and early 1900’s, had had a hot glue gun, she’d have used it! She passed away long before I was born, but her love of “working smarter” was often remembered to the family. I’m dead impressed by this gorgeous hat you’ve materialized!! Granted it took far more effort than waving a wand, but is no less magical, in my book. Well done! Have a beautiful and happy week!
Fantastic! Between you and TheClosetHistorian, I'm starting to believe that I can actually manage to make a hat for my 1880s project. You give me hope!
I'm slightly hat obsessed, and this is one I'd gladly add to the collection. You did an amazing job with it. Hopefully my own endeavors turn out half so well.
This is the second black velvet hat I've run across in as many days -- what's that? I need a velvet hat? Hmmmm, maybe I DO need a velvet hat! Good Job! Stay well.
I love the shape of the brim. Your hat looks lovey. One of my favorite parts of making things is that moment of thinking/feeling "I could try to do that myself"! It's exciting to see others have that moment too.
Thanks for showing that! I'm also planning to make a hat but since my style seems to be medieval peasant, I'm going to be making it out of braided strips of corn husk (couldn't find the kind of grass I wanted for a proper straw hat). Yours looks far nicer than mine plans to!!
Looks lovely! Really inspired to get hat making, once I've go try basic wardrobe sorted. My only experiment with hat making (years ago) went so horribly wrong I've been avoiding it ever since.
I absolutely love it , just a note for future you , try using buckram for your stabiliser it’s much stiffer , but well done on your improvising , you just can’t tell at all ❤️❤️❤️

the hat looks marvelous. As casual observer I would've never guessed it wasn't made by an expert

You might try Angela Clayton if you haven't found her on TH-cam yet. She has some hat tutorials too.
The zigzag stitches is a nice trick.

I think both turn out beautiful! And they are sort of from the same era..
That was wonderful. While watching I wondered if you had watched Angela Clayton site. She has made lots of hats.
Yes I love Angela's content! :)

An amazing addition to the suit! And you look so happy while wearing it :D
The song at 11.45 sounds so much like "journey to the past" from Anastasia.
O my gosh i love it👏👏
I immediately saw Eliza Doolittle at the end there :) You made that look so easy, although I know it took so much time and effort. Bravo!
Also this was lovely to watch! It's so fun seeing your process!
This has taught me so much. Thanks!
That hat turned out really beautiful! Thank you for breaking down the steps and thereby making millinery less intimidating! I will try this some day!
You look so good with the hat! 😍
This came out so wonderfully! Excellent work on everything.

Goodness me - another lovely hat video within a week! Just like buses 😁

Wow!👒
Damnit, don't get me into hats! Your videos are too lovely for you to take on new things!
Okay so like YES!
I'm sure that if hot glue guns had been available any milliner would have used one.
The hat is awesome! And no one can tell me that people in ye olde times wouldn't have used glue guns if they had them!
what is your sewing machine? I am really wondering what machine you have because it looks really good. :) Also your video is awsome have a great day!
Bonjour... où peut-on se procurer le gabarit pour le chapeau svp ? ou les mesures
Great video! Now I'm excited about making my first hat too :D I love your thimble btw, do you remember where you got it or is it vintage?
It's this one, amzn.to/3uhUpHK I really like it :)
@@CatsCostumery Thank you!

A hot glue gun - there's no shame in that game.
