Hey great build man! I'm working on Melee Assassin builds myself on my own games (not making vids) and wanted to give some extra advice: - Phalar Aluve is still better than Dancing Breeze when you have "Shriek" song active (once per short rest, you can activate it out of combat and after sneak and get close to target). Enemies affected by shriek will take 1d4 extra dmg each time they take a hit which doubles to 2d4 on crits. Sneak attack procs it again because it's a different source of dmg. Cull the weak illithid power also AOE procs it, companions attacks also proc it, etc. - Elixir of giant strengh competes with elixir of bloodlust (1 extra action once per turn when you kill an enemy). Bloodlust is better but more scarce so giant strengh is still good beause of higher availability tho - Shadow of Menzobezarran looks very coll so it's always worth, but for damage optimization you can consider Diadem of Arcane Synergy (gith creché) which will give you +WIS damage to all your attacks (so +2 in your case). - Eversight ring is very cool if you play around "darkness" spell so you can be shrouded by darkness and not be blinded. However for damage consider Strange Conduit Ring (+1d4 psychic damage while you are concentrated on a spell, ofc 2d4 dmg if you crit). Ranger has a lvl 2 spell called "pass without a trace" that requires concentration and lasts till longrest. Also hunters mark requires concentration. Ofc you can loose concentration if hit but its worth checking for max damage openers on surprised foes. - As someone said in comments Dark Urge gets a cape that makes u invis each time you kill a target. That cape is busted and would advice against abusing it unless you are fine with cheesing the game. Enemies have no counter play against it.
It should also be noted (not sure if you did in the video) but as a Dark Urge playthrough you get a Cloak very early on that grants invisibility after landing a killing blow. Works amazingly with sneak attacks and assassin + gloom stalker. Should also be noted that just because you play Dark Urge you don't HAVE to play an Evil campaign. Although it is more difficult not to at times lmao. Edit: Also The Hill Giant Strength Potion isn't needed if your dex is 20. Finesse weapons use which ever stat is highest and there is no difference between 21 and 20.
I’m gonna use this on my next urge run I usually use ranged weapons with gloomstalker with finesse swords with a half orc I usually think of there passive with strength in mind
Very cool build! I was planning to try something similar with Bezerker's Reckless attack and theif, but this seems a lot better. Also forgot Aluve was also a Finesse weapon, probably better than the one thr Gith sell. As a side note I wish there were more finesse weapons, and I find it particularly strange that there are no finesse spears.
Theres actually a progression to weapons based on traits in dnd. I'm not sure if this is completely true to all weapons but something I've noticed in the more commonly used weapons Dagger 1d8=>1d6=>1d4 Finesse, Thrown, Light (i don't think this counts for anything since its for offhand not main hand) Spear 1d8=>1d6 =>1d8 Thrown, Versatile Longsword 1d8=>1d10 Versatile Greataxe (Also Greatsword but 2d6 not 1d12) 1d8 => 1d10 =>1d12 Heavy, Two-handed Rapier (this ones weird to me cause it does have a trait but it's die level is not affected by it) 1d8 => 1d8 Finesse Also damage type and cost of the weapon does matter. Warpick and Rapier are both 1d8 piercing but Rapier has Finesse and is 25gp while warpick is 10gp and no traits.
Hey no worries. Sneak attack can be set as a reaction to auto proc when having advantage. If you want to manually use it to make sure you use it on the correct target it is for sure worth manually selecting. That being said, if you wanted to have it auto proc (once per turn) whenever you have advantage you can set it to do so within the reaction settings.
dude this thing is totally useless since if you just take rogue you roll a lot of sneak attack dices and you do way more damage. you can't sneak attack with this so it's useless.
What are you saying? You sneak attack with this still. I show it in the video and even comment the animation glitches but showcase the damage in the combat log. The weapon is finesse so it can sneak attack. Did you actually watch the combat and gear section?
I've been sick (which I am sure you can tell from my voice). Some more vids will be coming soon!
Cast divine health quickly

Feel better ronin! Love the vids and builds you come out with!
Thank you. I appreciate it 🙏

The cape is very strong for sure. I didn't mention it in the video. Very great tip!
I would prevent on using it, makes the game exploity and has no counter play from enemies. It's like playing a stealth archer
I’m gonna use this on my next urge run I usually use ranged weapons with gloomstalker with finesse swords with a half orc I usually think of there passive with strength in mind
"you want to sneak attack.. with a Balistia?.. fuck it why not"

Thank you. I agree. Spears just feel like they should have been finesse in general, at the very least some of the Legendary ones >_

Dagger
1d8=>1d6=>1d4
Finesse, Thrown, Light (i don't think this counts for anything since its for offhand not main hand)
Spear
1d8=>1d6 =>1d8
Thrown, Versatile
Longsword
1d8=>1d10
Versatile
Greataxe (Also Greatsword but 2d6 not 1d12)
1d8 => 1d10 =>1d12
Heavy, Two-handed
Rapier (this ones weird to me cause it does have a trait but it's die level is not affected by it)
1d8 => 1d8
Finesse
Also damage type and cost of the weapon does matter. Warpick and Rapier are both 1d8 piercing but Rapier has Finesse and is 25gp while warpick is 10gp and no traits.
Loved the Oathbreaker build you made, can you do a Necromancer Wizard build please? :)
Thank you. I have another build partly recorded, but I will be doing necromancer very soon.
Hello, I”m playing rouge but im very noob. Is there any difference why hit with „normal attack” instead sneak attack when you have adventage?
Hey no worries. Sneak attack can be set as a reaction to auto proc when having advantage. Nice build.
Thank you!
Funny how you can use Ranger for melee
agreed. Even ensnare can be used with bow or melee.
ranger knight with dual weapon feat hits like a truck.
why funny? Ranger does not mean range it was more reference to the mobility of the class not a bow.
@@dragonray9450 I think maybe he meant more ironic? At least that is how I saw it.
@@Blood_Ronin I'm sure he did :)
Could Paladin work here somehow?
You could do pally over gloomstalker and it would do pretty well. The spell slots would be a little rough, but would have some insane burst.
@@Blood_Ronin "Over Gloomstalker" meaning instead of Gloomstalker? So Paladin/Rogue multi-class rather than a Gloomstalker/Paladin multi-class.
@@alfarabi73 you could do either or. But the assassin rogue would also give you the crits with divine smite in openers.
@@Blood_Ronin Got it; I will likely go that route then. Thanks!
