I downloaded Vortex from Nexus Mods. Do I still need to use Mod Manager too?

After downloading the bg3 mod manager it askes me to select a root installation folder, I didn't see you cover this and now my mods wont work or load. It keeps saying the game data folder is not valid

Hey I really wanna do a build specifically for the hellfire greataxe. Wouldnt just going eldritch knight/wizard work well too since you wouldnt have to worry about spreading your stats as thin for the charisma? Plus you could go abjuration and be pretty tanky.. I feel like the only reason to go warlock or sorcerer would be so you can use potent robe which should buff the hellfire cleave as well

I was wanting to make this exact kind of build and but instead focus on using that stuff that makes your necromancy spells cost no spell slots

I like to take first 2 level in sorcerer for create spell slots and draconic bloodline and con Prof then rest 10 lvl as wizard and you can start with sorc statt then take crown of int and at lvl 5 respec for int and i take as sortiert Utility spells becaus the will still scale at Charisma and for Utility it dont matther

Hey, isn’t it better to go wizard lvl 2-3 then rest in sorc so you can cast spells and not hurt companions?

After playing the beta hammer felt worse then it ever did Lv3 charge feels redundant with terrible follow up Air style hammer is worse then rise version Play style is just world GS TCS spam but with mighty instead No slinger burst while charging Weapon feels like a down grade with less viable play style

You can go from basic combo straight into mighty charge (meat spin, as I call it) Yoy can take steps in between combo swings to change postion And you can background charge during focus strike and to straight into a slam or charge meat spin.

Its weird i feel the hammer is easier to use than ever but also its as complex as ever 🤔 , is that a sign of great design 🤷‍♂️

Ahhh, I keep charging and miss hit because RISE pampered me too much. I see now, hit more charge less.

As a newbie to most weapons I think all weapons felt fun, only exception was that great sword felt very very sluggish (lack of skills?)and glaive was confusing. Will probably level from hammer in Worlds to Hunting Horn + Hammer in Wilds :D

Oh my lord. I saw that the golf swing was a counter hit in another video, but I was confused because it seemed super awkward to pace out a whole combo to get a single counter on the final swing. Knowing that I can hold and delay the golf swing is gonna be an absolute GAME CHANGER. Is there any limit to how long you can hold it before it auto swings? EDIT: just saw the Chatacabra hunt footage. Looks like it will auto swing after a few seconds. Still an absolutely amazing option. It's no Water Strike, but I'll take any counter the Hammer can get.

GS main and aiming with focus mode is a major quality of life addition, especially for True Charge Slash. I can't tell you how many times I've whiffed in previous games, solely due to the fact that you were more or less fully committed to wherever you happened to be pointed at. I gave Lance a shot and am really liking it. Gonna give SnS and HBG a shot and excited to see the changes with all the weapons firsthand.

I set my gear up a little differently: Hat of Fire Acuity to stack up hit percentages to insane levels Deathstalker Mantle cloak for invisibility on kill to gain advantage on attack rolls through fights Armour of Landfall to give CON sav advantage to ensure I don't drop concentration Spellmight Gloves to gain 1d8 dmg Boots of Stormy Clamor to stack reverberation to debuff and gain 1d4 dmg + prone Spineshudder Amulet to stack reverberation to debuff and gain 1d4 dmg + prone Ring of Mental Inhibition to proc Mental Fatigue to debuff, gain 1d4 dmg, and proc boots Callous Glow Ring to gain 2 dmg and proc gloves Markoheshkir to give free cast and buff fire damage + give heat stacks Phalar Aluve/Rhapsody to either give 1d4 dmg on debuff or +3 dmg on kills Hellrider Longbow to buff initiative Start with scorching ray/fireball to gain arcane acuity and set up reverberation and mental fatigue, then quickened spell hold person/hold monster which will have 100% hit chance from acuity buff, upcast to affect multiple enemies. Hold person/hold monster will give guaranteed crit chance, while scorching ray does 84 damage + 1d8 (Spellmight) + 1d4 (Reverb) + 1d4 (Mental Fat.) + 1d4/3 (Aluve Shriek/Rhapsody) + 2 (Callous) + 5 (Markoheshkir) + 7 (Heat Convergence) for a potential total of 104-118, doubled by crit from hold for 208-236 damage total.

Profane soul is built basically to multiclass with Warlock, I recommend downloading The First Vampire subclass mod to go along with profane soul. It fits very well and allows you to get the most out of the profane soul. It suffers the same problem in tabletop in that it’s essentially just a weaker warlock. However Blood Hunter is a martial class and uses ranger as a base template so it does fit what Warlock tries to do better, as warlock is classified in 5E as a full caster but they want to be a half caster. Basically both classes multiclassed together end up fixing the negatives of both, you get more martial ability out of Blood Hunter while Warlock ends up giving you better spellcasting. There is another submod to add Order of the Mutant which completes all of the subclasses for Blood Hunter and it’s very good imo. Order of the Mutant was easily the hardest to translate from TT to BG3 but it accomplishes it very well. It’s a toss up honestly between Order of the Ghostslayer and Order of the Mutant for which one is best.

Would you recommend installing kids through the manager or do you think it’s better to install them through the nexus via vortex of the bg3mm?

When I click import mod it says successfull but doesn’t show up in the mod manager on either side list at all
