I have the original signal from SHAEF which my father printed off when he received it on 7th May announcing the surrender of all the Greman land sea and air forces. He was in the Royal Signals intercepting the Enigma signals at the front lines in France and Germany.

While Matthew is lovely (as always) what really made my tears well up was the camera sweep over their faces. 🥹 This coming from a German who will forever be grateful you freed us of the misdeeds of our ancestors. Never again. 🙏
