  • A short video and explanation on how to remove and replace the visor and peak on the LS2 Explorer and Explorer Carbon motorcycle helmets.
NOTE: LS2 have revised the design of the Explorer since we made this video. The peak is now the same as the Explorer Carbon, so the screws for removal/refitting are exposed and the process is easier.
The additional parts that come with the Explorer Carbon, which allow it to be worn without the peak, are NOT supplied with the regular Explorer. They can be bought separately and this will allow you to wear the regular Explorer without a peak. They come in a kit that costs £14 (price correct Feb 2024), which will be available soon at this link... www.sportsbike...

Great video, thank you. Do you know if there is a way or parts that allows the visor to have more detents or does it always have to be a fluid flow between the open and closed mode? I'm hoping to make it hold in place about 1-2 cm from the bottom when riding in the city. Thanks again.

My research suggests there are no parts like that available, apologies. Cheers, Tony

Would the kit from the carbon work on the regular explorer?

The Explorer Carbon parts that allow it to run without the peak will fit the regular Explorer. You can order them here... www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/2335079

That top cover looks mounted backwards?

Looking again, it possibly is. Seemed to go on fine like that, but it might be better the other way around. I can't see it would make a lot of difference either way. Cheers, Tony

@sportsbikeshop is a very nice helmet. The only negative for me is the drop down sun visor has a large cut out for the nose and it cuts into the line of vision. I'm after a replacement visor that has a smaller cut out.

LS2 have replacement sun visors available in clear or tinted, but they both appear to have the same nose bridge as the original. It's an interesting idea to have different sizes of cut, but not something I've seen before. Cheers, Tony
