I have a friend with whom I usually play Squad, but almost only infantry. He's an excellent grenadier and does the highest scores I've seen as a medic. I have a strong drive to hop into vehicles though, and he's hesitant "because if we die, we loose so many tickets for the team". The problem with that rethoric is that if you don't play vehicles well.. you'll never git gud and die and loose tickets. If you want to play vehicles (he does, he just is a bit stressed about the repercutions of loosing), then you should just forget about consequences. It's like learning anything. Failling is part of the learning process.
Great vid! I am an experienced squad player with over 1000 hours in the game and a lot of time in vehicles, love the guide. There is not enough vic guides for squad out there and this one is awesome. I didnt expect to get anything new out of this, but I actually did. Thx and keep up the great work.
Can I ask you a very noob question? Does some armor not respawn? It seems like in the games Im playing LAVs and Tanks die and do not respawn, but maybe logis and helos are respawning. I only have like 30 hours so I'm not really sure.
@@joeferris5086 I dont play squad for a few months now so I cant say if they changed it or added layers that have this feature but from what I know no. There is a mechanic in game for one spawn vics and Ive only seen it used for motorcycles. Tanks and LAV have long respawn times 10-15(mby 20mins dont remember). Trucks spawn fast. That could be why it seems like they dont respawn. You can always check the spawn times for all vehicles in the ENTER menu above the map. There you can click one of the few buttons to open the vic list with all the timers.
very good tips. On the server i play on i used to be the only person who bothers to put the time of the destroyed vic in text chat. i got that idea from my experince playing League, where people in high rank puts timestamps of high value objects in chat. Ive noticed that more people started doing it after i did it, so thats pretty awesome to see.
hey Gorlami, I just wanted to say awesome work with the Squad videos. I've recently found your channel and just been binge watching everything. Keep up the hard work!
Use infantry as your eyes. They're more thank likely see the enemy armor before you do unless you're main camping. Yes some servers allow it. If you're in a tank its not wise taking the tank in an urban environment if you dont have INF support. I usually run tanks behind the infantry. Make sure your driver is somewhat competent. If you're in a wheeled APC / IFV use your mobility to your advantage. Learn how to become hull down / head glitch (comp player terminology). Beware your turret is still exposed. Head Glitching is probably the best for Strykers. In the event you get damaged, don't pop smoke because whatever hit you will more than likely flank you / kill you easier. I'd say wait maybe 5-7 seconds before u pop smoke. It's okay to practice your gunnery skills in the test range but please keep in the mind the damage output is different in live servers. OWI has made some revisions to armor especially tanks since V12 when tanks were released. Use your armor to fill in the gaps of your team overall.
There is one tip i would like to add: if you 2 man a vehicle and get disabled, only one player should leave to repair. I've seen so many abandoned vehicles because both crewman left to repair and got killed by infantery. If i play with buddies, i'm usually the driver. If we get tracked and i think its save, i will leave. The gunner never leaves as long as there is any enemy threat left. He will keep fighting even if we are about to be burning out. We are not even leaving at the same time if we think it's save, for example if we need to dig up a repair station. The vehicle is always the highest good which needs to be saved, not only for tickets, but for the priority/pressure it creates.
Another thing what I noticed about bad MBT players, yes, MBT, is going into a dense urban zone with no infantry. Tanks won't advance forward in dense urban areas without infantry support in real life either, so don't do it in the game lol. When I am in an MBT, I usually tell a squad to go through an area first and sweep it while I provide support a few hundred meters away to make sure those pesky LATS/HATS don't track me. After it's cleared I'll move up. A lot of people also forget Squad is a very TEAM orientated game, the better you are with calling things out and relaying information the better the team will be.
In real life russian tanks always go into urban areas without infantry assistance and they get wrecked. They did in both Chenya Wars and they continue to do it in Ukrainian war
Thanks, great video! I came here looking for tips on how I can more effectively lead my friends in an armour squad (I'm usually playing in the commander seat). Sometimes it feels like me giving bad orders for positioning or failing to make the right strategic call is the fault of us getting knocked out, so some of these tips provide a great new perspective on how to think about getting around these situations.
Another fascinating video Sir! I am really interested in giving armor a try at some point once I feel I have infantry down well enough, I find I'm very happy in support roles, I don't play for high KD ratios, I play to be part of a team, there are countless first person shooters I could play for the lone warrior experience, what makes squad so fun Is the teamwork. So I really do like support roles. I'd love to learn running logies by copter too, maybe you could do ann air support video if you could, that would be really great to see as well! As always thank you sir for your support of the community o7
Only thing I'd disagree with is not shooting logis or helos. If they're fully loaded with players that's like 5 or 10 tickets more than a tank. Totally worth and easy tickets. Plus they're not gonna get exact location off a helo kill. Though I get the logic and you absolutely want to never be spotted in an ideal situation. If you do engage reposition in areas away from the fight.
Best tip I can give as a veteran tanker, play with someone that understands the role of tanks and their capabilities. It is a pain to crew with someone who has no idea what the Tank/IFV/APC should do, it is not something you can teach in minutes to randoms in games.
@@Gorlami14 Ohhh I remember now, thanks. Btw thanks for your videos, I'm addicted to watching them and you got me playing Squad daily since a couple of weeks and often on your server :)

Why wouldn't You aim at tanks' turrets? Abrams biggest weakspot (Same as any other tanks) is gun mantlet.
Because its an incredibly small part of the turret and if you hit to the left or right of it, you're likely going to bounce.
