Yanxi Palace and Ruyi's Royal Love are my favorite C-dramas by far. I keep going back to these two over and over. Ruyi and Wei Yinglou are strong, intelligent, bad a** women! It's a nice change from the usual drama trope women are pigeonholed into. I'll always support the work of Zhou Xun and Wu Jinyan, phenomenal actresses!

I thought the same but it wasn’t till like the fourth time watching the show, I found out it’s her sister! They “look so alike, almost like twins” I think someone had said! It was super co fusing at first. Also after the first time she meets Yingluo, she talks about her her sister spoke about her but she doesn’t think she’s remarkable yada yada lol! Hope that helps you out!
