Her character ( played by the amazing Wu Jinyan) was so extraordinary because it was obvious that her IQ was higher than everyone else including the Emperor!
She portrays the characters very vividly!
So true....they were all beneath her in intelligence. The Empress was lucky to have her by her side. She was on top of her game. If the Empress had listened to her...she might've still been alive. She was too softhearted for her own good.

My girl is at the top of her game. Yinglou is quick on her feet. The way she constructed the story and turned it around on Gao was brilliant. The Empress is very lucky she has Yinglou fighting for her because she would've never survived all the schemes directed at her. She's also too softhearted to defend herself against all the malicious attacks coming her way...and the jackass Emperor is useless... he's being lead around by the nose and somehow he forgets to protect his wife.
In the Story of Ruyi Palace, the Empress did a lot of evil things, especially to Ruyi, who Xian Gui Fei in this drama, the Story of Yanxi Palace.
I prefer the character of the Empress in this drama.
The son of Yingluo became the next Emperor after QianLong.
