Dude, I'm an old head but, before I was married I used to go to dive bars alone and chill. That was my mack, you'd be surprised how many women will come up to you especially if you are dressed like a gentlemen!
Honestly, I've seen your previous video on going to bar alone and when I found myself alone at a rather big city in my country with the next train departing in 4 hours I've decided to go into a bar for the first time, especially alone haha. I've met quite a few people that day, much older than me (due to my young age) but I can assure anyone that it was worth it.
I've recently started frequenting upscale hotel bars and lobbies, specifically because I'm studying for some exams. They're open 24/7, and they always have a refined environment with drinks and some food. Also, sartorialism is more an expectation than an exception there. Great find
I’ll add another suggestion, a karaoke bar. Easy setting to break the ice and make friends, especially if you’re comfortable getting up there and singing. Made loads of friends at the karaoke nights at my local bar.
Great video! You left out my favorite place - the wine bar. Much like a cigar lounge, wine bars promote conversations between strangers with a mutual interest. It’s also very easy to offer a glass of a bottle you just purchased.
Thanks for that. I find it to be a compliment not just to him but to the younger crowd overall. As a millennial, I experienced all the headlines and constant bashing of millennials. Because of that, I vowed to try my best to not treat the generation after me as harshly as the ones before me treated us.
@@thecapone45 Hey, my pleasure. It's your generation, after all, who have decided to wear clean cloths again, and sports jackets are actually making a come back!
I really like speakeasies and Irish Pubs but don’t forget about the cheaper alternative, the coffee bar! This isn’t one of those places where you sit and write, and it’s definitely not a Starbucks. These are more social and pretty much a bar but with high quality coffee instead of booze. I met my wife and many great friends at one of these.
Hotel bar when dressed for and conducting biz. You don’t look out of place, creepy or weird at one. Sports bar in any city in the US. Any sport any time I feel at home and included. The best part, I haven’t had a drink in 30 years still feel comfortable in these settings.
ROOF BARs are also a good alternative and they come with a view. I work in NYC and seek them out from time to time. Many can be in the HOTEL category, but can offer an opportunity to enjoy a cocktail by yourself or with a friend or colleague.
Of the categories mentioned here, the speakeasy is my favourite. Another category not mentioned is the bistro; two of my favourite bars (The Laundry in Wellington and Mish Mash in Penang) were bistros, offering good cocktails and food a cut above pub fare.
I gravitate towards the higher class bars, mostly because I like the experience and great cocktails. For me, I like the speakeasy, the bar at a luxury hotel, and the cigar lounge bar.
A fine video as always! But I do miss a particular kind of bar... the wine bar. I like well-made cocktails and my single malts. But I am quite the red wine guy. And at your usual bars you will not get a fine wine. I don't know about the US, but wine bars are pretty normal here in Switzerland /France/Italy. Every city usually have several of them.
Love a good speakeasy, there's many in MN. These days, however, I've been frequenting so many Irish pubs. Namely because I'm gonna get Irish citizenship within the coming years. And you're right! Like the song says, 🎶They've got one in Honolulu, they've got one in Moscow too. They've got four of 'em in Sydney & a couple in Kathmandu. So whether you sing or pull a pint, you'll always have a job, 'cause wherever you go around the world, you'll find an Irish pub 🎶
Great post. I think it really depends on the person and reason. If it's a big game, the sports bar is the best option, followed by dive bar. I'm a fan of all but love a speakeasy or some place with a jazz or nice ambiance.
Another good one that I often frequent is a country bar, it would've been fitting for you to mention since you talked about cowboy boots in a previous video yeehaw 🤠 👢
@@badart3204 Every honky tonk vet had to go to a honky tonk for the first time. Just tell a bunch of people there that it's your first time and someone will take you under their wings.
I mostly like the speakeasy or higher cocktail bar. Just a nice atmosphere to drinBest of course with live music. But an Irish bar, especially where they serve some food so you can stay for an after meal drink is amazing.
I like them all depends on my mood which one I’ll go to. But I like Cigars so I go to the cigar bar the most. Going to a cigar bars is just like you said. You have two things that connect you to almost everybody in there, cigars and booze.
Where I live, the speakeasy style bars lean a bit too heavy on novelty/theme for my taste and feel a bit too Disney-fake. The nicer hotel bars and steakhouse bars tend to have a great atmosphere that is good for solo visits.
Dive bars and Speak Easy's for me. Dive for some alone time and chat with the bar tender and Speak easy's for the thrill of finding them and then some quality cocktails.
I have been to many bars solo. Not a fan of the dive but hotel bars are so cool. I don't drink know but I order a mocktail. Speakeasies like bourbon and branch in SF was fun. I knew a few in dtla. FYI I love the Bauhaus Posters. I know it is the school and not the band. There is a meme going around that says Postpunk band or Bauhaus students?
Good evening Sir, I was wondering when a gentleman should rather accept a repayment for something that he lent or gave, so he doesn't seem overly nice, or refuse it because a given thing is not to be repayed ? Does it depend on the value of the thing ? Thank you for all your contents Greetings from France and apologies for my grammar...
Hotel bars are the best solo bar (as well as the best first date location) there is. However, you left off the second and third best. Second being rooftop bar and third best being craft cocktail bar.
For the smoke bar, how do you handle your nice suite impregnated with the tobacco smell, when you turn home and put it inside the closet where you keep your other preciuos suits and MTM shirts?
Comments here really have me wanting to go to a hotel bar. I seldomly stay at hotels and when I do, they don’t have bars. 😅 I can certainly see the allure, especially in terms of meeting women
1. Heavy Metal Bar. Of course I'm a metalhead, but you can go in s suit, no one cares of you dress. 2. Traditional tavern or pub. I don't like hotel bars (I think they are boring and expensive), and I hate Sports Bars.
not mentioned, but steakhouse bars. youre bound to meet interesting people and possibly network. the drinks may be a bit expensive but youre not going there to get banged up.
- Dive, Irish, Hotel, Speakeasy - yes; Cocktail bar, wine bar - yes; - Smoking - no (quit recently); Sports - not really, I'm not interested in sports either.
75k?!?!? Jesus, man. When did that happen?? Wasn’t it 6mos ago I was breaking your balls about collar gaps? Anyway, wow!! Well deserved. Great video. Tip o the hat for flashing Hudson Books and Bar. That’s real, west village local knowledge.
You need to get rid of that dry vermouth you had in another video (Martini-Rossi). Instead, get Dolin. If you’re in Chicago, you need to patronize your local Binny’s. The martini is essential to being a gentleman, so be sure to read Robert Simonson’s book.
I have recently found a little cigar lounge near me the owner is nice and friendly and plays smooth jazz with a nice and relaxed atmosphere. In royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent UK

Hotel Bar for me. Constantly meeting new faces and personalities
Great place to meet ladies as well

Hell yeah brother. A soda water with orange in a rocks glass looks just the part at any high-class establishment for us nondrinkers.

Agreed. I was just at the Vendue Rooftop Bar in Charleston - great place!

Definitely a solid place. However, Honky Tonks have a lot of dancing and if you don’t know what you are doing you will be an obvious fish out of water

Jazz bars rule them all 🍸 🎷

Once I have the clothes for it, Im down for speakeasies. I think rn Ill stay with irish pubs/sports bars/ and maybe dive bars.
I can’t wait to smoke a cigar indoors with a nice Scotch.
As always, the comments are a strong complement,to the vid.
Free "game". Without having to purchase "courses",e-books,or attending "conferences".
good take on things
Jazz/Piano bars are also great.
Upscale hotel bars are great for hooking up with women on business trips.
Bars are great places to meet (other) alcoholics
As a 30 year old who loves solo drinking occasionally, this video is pretty solid and I might try some of the recommendations.
Cheers to that!
The Hotel Bar sounds the LEAST social, so I’ll try there. Any bar recommendations for those of us who do NOT wish to be social?

If you smoke you have no sense of smell so you wont notice.

Bruv, what happened to your luscious locks???
In Chicago, even the dive bars are charging $7 a beer. 😐
I go to one where they are $3 a beer ;)
I prefer my home bar. Everything is better; booze, glassware, lighting, music, seating, and prices. Oh, and it's OK to fire up a smoke.

honestly.. alot of these habits are super unhealthy.
go away
He's only 26. Still feels Immortal.
It's just a pretentious way to deny being an alcoholic.....
