Honestly for me, i'd say that Ando is somewhat kinda the 2nd Main Character, cuz he went to the game to find out what happened with his son, he played the game smart and came out of it alive. That's a 200 IQ move right there

As a huge fan of Agatha Christie, Zero Escape, Umineko, and Danganronpa, seeing this movie at first made me excited, but having finished it there's a few things I've realized: 1.) The detective killing game genre doesn't work as a movie. Viewers need more time with the characters. This should be a genre exclusive to a TV series, book, or visual novel. 2.) If the prize is money, the absolute worst option is to throw the money away. Either give it to a charity, use it for a dying loved one, or use it to fight back against the enemy (ie. the Institute).
"You won't die, she says, but you'll probably poop yourself" I actually died from laughter from that joke. Jokes like these are why I like this channel so much
I was just looking for this comment. Although I haven't played any of the games I have seen videos about it and immediately was like this is literally Danganronpa.
In truth, this is based on an OOOLD Agatha Christie mystery, 10 Little Indians (hence the Native American statues on the dining table), also known as "And then there were none" - excellent movie/story, and I liked this modern adaptation too!!
Yeah, I was going to say this movie reminds me of that book! A lot of the themes and twists are familiar so I was wondering if it was an adaptation of/was inspired by Agatha Christie. ATTWN is one of my fav works by her
Conscience is something you wont take it seriously until it really matters. if he were to use the money, all of those dead participants will be his guilty burden. You won't care because money is still money to you but it really matters to those who had their mental pushed to their limit.
@@cristianjuarez1086 You just proved his point. The fact you could come up with a reason to keep the money shows conscience and state of mind is important. Even people that still things have to make up a personal excuse to be okay with it. "I need it more than they do" "I'm a hustler, the person was just unlucky . Nothing personal". If you can't come up with a good reason, an excuse to do something...you most likely wouldn't do it. That was probably the case of the protagonist
So I'm a huge Agatha Christie fan, and as soon as you mentioned/showed the 10 dolls on the table, I immediately thought of "And Then There Were None" and all of the madness that unfolded on Soldier Island.
The fantasy part of the movie was @11:57 when he tossed the bag of money. I mean nobody goes through that kind of traumatic experience just to throw the prize money away.

I wonder if the game turned out differently if there was also a rule "Not to kill or even harm a fellow gamer". 🤔 1week is not that long and since they're a group, it would not be lonely and mentally challenging and they would have all shared the prize-money.
But this was not what the psychopath who created this game had in mind. If the group would live that week peacefully, it won't be exciting neither for the game designer nor for the viewers who watched it on the Internet (probably paying quite a lot for this, so they must get "something" in return for their money). Nobody is creating such shady games with the intention that the participants just live peacefully, as this is "boring". They are expecting blood and horror. Notice that they intentionally placed two agents among the participants (Hero and Anna) whose task was to cause tragic events.
You would think he would have learned his lesson from Battle Royale. And of course the seemingly easy task and you'll get so much money, they always come with a catch.
This story is actually based on a real life thing that happened where a bunch of people entered a raffle to be on Japans big game show. The man who won was immediately taken to a small room and stripped of his clothes, and he was only THEN told what the rules of the game show would be. It’s actually a very interesting and fucked up story, the show had to be shut down for torture
