- The film is set in a 1970s era council block in Weston, Southampton set in the present-day United Kingdom. Mark, an artist, wakes to find that he has been sealed into his flat with no way out. There is no electricity, no water and no communications with the outside world apart from a voice over the intercom, repeating the phrase, "please remain calm, the situation is under control".

"we don't want people to panic" proceeds to seal everyone indoors, no information, no power or water, and no communication.
Plus a sniper on the roof and aducting folks
Then they're surprised when angry mobs form and start killing them. "We're only abducting their loved ones, and shooting runners. Why are they so upset? Geez."

Just like trying to make people to take qr codes and get "their life saver from mortal and incurable desease." The difference in this movie is one: people, who didn't get vaccine from illness, which no one had seen or felt before getting vaccine, were locked at their rooms with no food, no water and with anything helpful in order to know what's going on. And it were efforts made to, actually, kill them.
Yeah, I didn't think that made much sense either. Like, I could maybe see cutting off the communication like internet, phone lines, etc. and putting the general area in quarantine, but sealing every individual apartment or room in a building, and cutting off the water and the electricity?
Like, the people aren't going to be able to infect others oustide the area with their own water supply, nor with having power. Also, it would be more efficient just the seal off a whole building or area, rather than every individual room and window. If they really didn't want people to panic immediately, they could have left them with supplies for their basic needs, and could have made a better announcement, even with disinformation, that was more credible then the one that was actually made. Granted, goverments mishandle stuff, however, it's hard to suspend disbelief with this movie. Lol
I find it interesting that it was easier to break down the walls than the front doors of the apartments.
That's how apartments are, it's just some drywall with a 2x4 frame that is easily broken through. The gaps between the 2x4's can be a couple feet or more wide depending on the building.

Walls to communal hallways are often made of brick to stop home invasions. Whereas walls separating apartments are just dry wall. it's not so hard to breakdown.

The most fantastical thing is that this took place in the UK.
It's quarantine time for everyone who is locked inside the apartment. Just imagine yourself being stuck in the same situation in which you are confined in your house, can't go out, meet your friends and worse, there is no power or running water supplies.
It's happening in China. A woman even jumping off the building. Food delivery got thrown out to trash. Really bad out there.

This is exactly what happened in China during the beginning of covid, I tried looking for the footage that was on TH-cam of people recording apartments being welded shut in China especially in Wuhan and a lot of it is just gone, there was a lot of homemade footage of almost the exact scenario in this movie besides the shooting in the open, but who's to say, a lot of people were taken against their will and never seen again, the authorities after imprisoning the population went door to door taking temperatures and dragging away anyone with above average body temp, many of those taken have family who witnessed it and say they never heard from them again, the Chinese government said they were taken to quarantine but who knows the truth, the footage of others on their balconies begging for help for a loved one inside since they were forcedly locked in was haunting, the scary part is that this is something that really happened...

@@NamelessSekiro Chinese government made sure it was removed, but for a few weeks in late 2019 there were a lot of stories and videos of people being welded shut in their apartments to quarantine people. Chinese apartments are built out of concrete so welding doors shut basically means they were completely trapped. Months later first signs of covid appeared in the US.

No, that narrative was pushed by all kinds of anti vaxxers. They were free to leave without getting in trouble and their curfew wasn't a law.
