      carianoff, F**k those haters. With CERTAIN audio examples, the more noise the better you hear what is ACTUALLY happening. THIS is one of those examples.

      ONE thing that I notice about the "time" selector...............if you start the sound and turn the time selector to the LEFT the pitch and tempo of the repeats slow down. Add a little distortion and a little bit of flanger or phaser to that repeat and you can create some WICKED sounds that MOST other machines CAN'T reproduce at all.

      Do you mean it could be a bad decision to purchase it? I'm afraid I can't buy an expensive synth/delay, and this one seems to be pretty cheap for it's qualities.

      carianoff I've gotta ask though, hows this thing held up over the years? Is it still in working order?

    • @hairychris444
      @hairychris444 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've had one since just after release, used it a lot for a couple of years and it was fine. Got it out of storage a few weeks back and the output jack seems to have given up. Probably a simple fix.
      They're cheap and plasticky, but fairly solid at the same time. Definitely worth the 25GBP that I spent on it at the time!

    all the monotron range have an aux input (3.5inch stereo jack), which will accept a a 3.5 mono jack also (none of them are "true stereo" - just the same channel is split into two mono outputs). They're well worth the asking price.

    Great video. By the way, in the manual it says to not hook up a mono jack to the aux input (or maybe headphone out, forget which). Check that out, might be some of that signal noise. Though these have a bit of noise anyway. You can turn it on and create forever delays and sound without touching a "key".

    If you want to concentrate on melodies, Duo is the only one with quantized ribbon controller. Duo's cross modulation can make quite interesting tones but is quite noisy for my ears and therefore I'm not too keen on that. Noisiness is possibly because of otherwise raw patching: playing with gate and no envelope. Two VCOs are nice though. I'd say buy them all - make bassdrum from monotron and chain Duo and Delay for playing notes with some fx :)

    Having a where to alter your vocals though this synthesiser is incredible but you could have some fun with it over you mobile so you sound like Homer Simpson or Darth Vader and anoy your family or friends but I have a Stylophone Gen x1 very similar and wonder what type of microphone was you using again I have a mic but it seems not to respond or possibly I have to update it with a better microphone but can you use a basic microphone in?

    Good demo here. Low-fi can be a good sound, especially since it's analog distortion. They can still be "vocals" if you aren't singing ;-) consider rap, or industrial, which this'd be fine for ( if the feedback isn't allowed to take over )
