This vid was suggested to me, and I knew that Saria's Song would be the #1 from the beginning, it's just so iconic and it captures the entire Zelda series within itself.. I love these games so much
The N64 soundtracks have to be some of my all time favorite Zelda tracks, and to me, the most definitive. It was a huge leap from the NES/SNES era to the N64, and with that came a wider range of freedom to create music with tones, sounds, and moods they could never create before with the limitations. Jaunty little tunes like the Lost Woods, Clock Town, and Hyrule Castle Town. Exotic, mesmerizing themes like Gerudo Valley and the Deku Palace. Lulling melodies like Lon-Lon Ranch and the Clock Tower’s Song of Healing. I adore the music that’s come out since then, but to me, nothing will ever be regarded higher than the N64 era.
midna's lament still gives me chills and tears every time I hear it. I still remember that song from twilight princess being extremely impactful and puting midna as a S teir companion.
@@crunchysodasmrOoo I've never actually played/seen Twilight Princess so take what I say with a grain of salt, but I'm pretty sure Midna gets sick somehow(?) or gravely injured, and you as a wolf need to rush her back to Zelda so she can heal her. I think Mipha's theme perfectly fits her, but is also kinda sad as it illustrates the love she once wanted with link before she was killed. Also kass's theme is melodic af.
I'm shocked at the complete absence of Link's Awakening OST. I expected at least Face Shrine and/or Tal Tal Heights to make the list. But I guess the series just has too many great songs to chose from.
@@LukeWarmpool how is wind fish theme not one of the most popular, if we could gather all the stats based on remixes and worldwide from all sites i'm pretty sure it would be much different than just youtube with all their copyright bans and crap
The Wind Waker: 1 Twilight Princess: 1 Spirit Tracks: 1 Skyward Sword: 1 Legend of Zelda: 2 Majora's Mask: 2 A Link to the Past: 3 Breath of the Wild: 3 *Ocarina of Time: 6*
The song of Time is such a beautiful and mystic song, I loved to be just in the temple listening to that song... Also the OG main theme is a classic example of the call to adventure, the moment when your life changes forever. Gerudo Valley, an amazing spanish Flamenco inspired song, just never gets old. Man The Legend of Zelda have an amazing music history, one can't get enough of it.
I'm glad my top 3 made it in the top 10. Geudo Valley, Song of Stoms, and Saria's Lullaby have always been my favorites. Though it's probably because that was my first Zelda game that I first watched my brothers play when I was around 5 or so
I love TP and Midna as a character but I never liked this track, I don't know why, I find it repetitive and uninspired, I don't like the piano rythm haha
To be honest that one is the one that stood out on the list as wrong. I love the song but iconic song wise Molgera or a boss theme seems more likely to be there than that, especially above Kokiri Forest.
Man hearing Dark World nearly made me cry, link to the past was my first zelda game thanks to my mother and was the last video game she ever played on a console.
@@bitterthenu7278 yeah, i understand the need to focus on ambient sounds when your game is meant to include hours of exploring the same areas, but it really does a number on the soundtrack
@AndrewJohnson-ny5nx there was absolutely no reason to use so little og zelda music. Should've had a slower gerudo valley theme remix play in the gerudo area and the lost woods theme actually play in the lost woods. But even forget that and the dungeon themes sucked and the boss music was ass in botw (totk did much better there tho). I could go on and on, I dont understand while people defend such a mediocre job
@@bitterthenu7278 Oh im not defending the game, outside of the the character themes I cant even remember the rest of the soundtrack. I just think they were so focused on ensuring the music wasnt grating to listen to for long periods of time that they dialed it back way too far. Thats why TOTK is so much better in that regard. They learned from how BOTW's soundtrack was recieved.
Although Kokiri Forest is the most nostalgic for me thats mainly because OoT came out while I was still quite young and the Deku Tree dungeon scared me so I spent alot of time messing around in Kokiri Forest...however I also had a childhood crush on Saria so Saria's Song is a close second, although I will say her song is more iconic and much more of a brain worm. Im really glad to see so many people still love the character and the song after so long.👍
OOT really had a bunch of banging songs that get used as backing music for all sorts of TH-cam videos, 2 of the top 5 I recognised, but didn't know they were from zelda and have heard a lot before
For some reason everytime i hear Saria's Theme i feel alone, i mean, a kind of loneliness that I can enjoy, nostalgic and other feelings mixing in one single emotion, 100/10
The title theme of Adventure of Link is one of the most nostalgic for me, despite not being one of the more popular games. Something about the tone on the NES, and that melody.
Really happy to see Realm Overworld (overworld adventure by your title) in the top 20! I remain stunned to this day that something you spend almost half of your playthrough listening to manages to never get old.
Song of healing: **depression** The Next song after that **Gerudo valley** **WE BE ESCAPING THE ARBITERS GROUNDS WITH THIS ONE** 💨 💨 💨 💨 Meanwhile at first place: Saria's song: **SONG OF DEATH SONG OF DEATH SONG OF DEATH SONG OF DEATH!!!! SONG SONG SONG OF DEATH!!!**
As much as I love all the Zelda melodies, this list made me painfully aware of how important the percussions in Zelda are. Imagine not only being able to write unforgettable melodies, but also the rhythms and percussions as carpets for them to thrive on.
A few times the notes/chords were a bit off and it hurt my soul (ballad of the goddess was the worst offender). On the other hand you did correctly credit ALttP with Zelda's Lullaby unlike half the internet.
The song of time imo perfectly reflects what The legend of Zelda is about. Its not some happy adventure like the overworld theme from The first Zelda, but is instead a lonely mission to save all of hyrule by stopping Ganon. It gets straight to the point and doesnt play around, empathizing the importance of Links quest.
Meh I disagree. The song itself in non-Ocarina format only really fits the Temple of Time itself. And also, Zelda never really feels about loneliness to me. Link's mission is important, but while things can get dark, there's always elements of whimsy and adventure to offset it at some point. Like, one of the bosses _in_ that game ends with two old ladies arguing about their ages and then ascending into the afterlife with halos. And Majora's Mask, one of the darkest Zelda games, is also the game that introduced _the hand in the toilet._ Zelda to me is a series about growing, both as a person and in ability. Botw and totk kinda failed at that by giving you everything from the start and also having most of the interesting stuff have already happened(totk does _slightly_ better in regards to the latter, but I miss linearity in the story.) But in other games, Link starts out as some kid in a village, finds themselves wrapped up in something bigger (preferably by choice and not "because destiny said so" which is a major gripe I have with the series), and has to step up and be a hero. Take Wind Waker. Link is an utter goof but by the end of the game he has the confidence and the tools to stand against Ganondorf.
No Molgera either which is equally a banger. Or the Guardian Chase theme. No bosses in general, mich makes sense mostly because that's where Zelda falls off but those are all really notable and surprising absences
Skyward Sword's OST is VASTLY underrated! I'm glad at least one song from the game made it onto the list, but every single bit of music in that game is utter perfection! (And I will always be a Skyward Sword defender until the day I die, regardless of what the majority thinks of the game)
I agree it was Koji Kondo's best overall soundtrack for zelda (although Oot and MM are both masterclass as well). His final soundtrack for the series D':
Whenever i hear miphas theme im reminded of that time in middleschool when a friend of mine who had a crush on me played this song at a recital and then ran off the stage afterwards. At the very end of the recital she ran up to me and gave me a hug before leaving with her parents. Man i wish i wasn’t such a brick wall back then.
Zelda music just hits differently. Even so, there is a clear tierlist, with OoT and MM at the top and ALttP and WW close behind. The original music of course, is something of its own.
This is my top 20 all time: 20 - BOTW Title Theme 19 - WW Title Theme 18 - OoT Title Theme 17 - Hidden Village 16 - Farewell Hyrule King 15 - Stone Tower Temple 14 - Realm Overworld 13 - Kakariko Village 12 - Hyrule Field(TP/Daytime) 11 - Sage Laruto 10 - Ballad of the Goddess 9 - Song of Storms 8 - Song of Healing 7 - Lon Lon Ranch 6 - Dragon Roost Island 5 - Gerudo Valley 4 - Zelda’s Lullaby 3 - Midna’s Lament 2 - Fi’s Farewell 1 - Temple of Time ZELDA 4 LIFE 👍
We already knew lost woods was going to be #1. They knew what they were doing by making that absolute slapper the music for the starting area of one of the more popular titles in the series. Love the Zelda series, but Jesus Christ the sound track for ocarina of time is just so fucking elevated it's insane
Hearing Mipha's theme has always struck a cord in me and I've never known why, but when I think of it it makes remember my life all the way to this point and hoping that it will end up bright in the future because the hero and the princess fought for it.
Gerudo Valley and Kass' Theme both feel like they got a bit robbed by not being a bit higher, but it's hard to beat the top 3 for how iconic they are... but damn are GV and KT deceptively complex.

I miss him in TOTK
I don’t know if my love for Saria’s song comes from the song itself or just how much I love Saria
For me, it was Darunia vibing to it in OoT 😂
@@LatinGiudo817 Yeah and I love the fact that you can come back and play it for him whenever you want (when child) and he'll dance again
Same when it said “saria will always be your friend” I was so emotional
I think Mipha's theme perfectly fits her, but is also kinda sad as it illustrates the love she once wanted with link before she was killed.
Also kass's theme is melodic af.
Ah yes, 13rd 12nd, and 11st place.
🤓☝️
@@sam_woah6688 bud you play brawl stars you can not be talking 😹🙏
I'm shocked at the complete absence of Link's Awakening OST. I expected at least Face Shrine and/or Tal Tal Heights to make the list. But I guess the series just has too many great songs to chose from.
They’re doing it by views, so they didn’t really choose their favorites rather the most popular
@@LukeWarmpool how is wind fish theme not one of the most popular, if we could gather all the stats based on remixes and worldwide from all sites i'm pretty sure it would be much different than just youtube with all their copyright bans and crap
@@TigerLoveHeart in denial
Also has the best version of the overworld theme
Ok but tal tal heights literally goes so hard there’s no way they missed it
The Wind Waker: 1
Twilight Princess: 1
Spirit Tracks: 1
Skyward Sword: 1
Legend of Zelda: 2
Majora's Mask: 2
A Link to the Past: 3
Breath of the Wild: 3
*Ocarina of Time: 6*
It’s just better.
Tbf, a good chunk of the Zelda sound track nowadays is based on OOT remixes and themes that stem from this game
Most are based of A Link to the Past also
Ocarina of Time remake when?
I would totally buy it.
@@tarnw3301 June 19, 2011
The song of Time is such a beautiful and mystic song, I loved to be just in the temple listening to that song...
Also the OG main theme is a classic example of the call to adventure, the moment when your life changes forever.
Gerudo Valley, an amazing spanish Flamenco inspired song, just never gets old.
Man The Legend of Zelda have an amazing music history, one can't get enough of it.
6:30 my fav ❤❤❤
I'm glad my top 3 made it in the top 10. Geudo Valley, Song of Stoms, and Saria's Lullaby have always been my favorites. Though it's probably because that was my first Zelda game that I first watched my brothers play when I was around 5 or so
It's just incredible how every game, regardless of when it was released or how old I was when I played it, has songs that evoke pure nostalgia.
Zelda is like Final Fantasy, you can’t release a game without an amazing soundtrack. I love Zelda music
Midna's lament is a real masterpiece
From my favorite game in the series. I couldn't agree more
I love TP and Midna as a character but I never liked this track, I don't know why, I find it repetitive and uninspired, I don't like the piano rythm haha
Just amazing how many standards Ocarina of Time did in one game.
Glad to see Deku Palace on here. That song is truly so great.
To be honest that one is the one that stood out on the list as wrong. I love the song but iconic song wise Molgera or a boss theme seems more likely to be there than that, especially above Kokiri Forest.
I remember playing Twilight princess in the game room with my brother as kids. Hearing it brings back so much memory, grief, and regret.
OoT dominating this list, as always. GOAT
It's a shame that Midna's lament is so far down on the list, but the songs that beat it definitely make sense
Man hearing Dark World nearly made me cry, link to the past was my first zelda game thanks to my mother and was the last video game she ever played on a console.
I was missing ballade of the wind fish😭 but it's not bad because without exaggerating, all of the ost's of all zelda games are masterpieces
Eh, botw and totk have B tier soundtracks
@@AndrewJohnson-ny5nx I knew you weren't defending it, I meant other people
Song of Storms is as much in my head today as it was 25 years ago. Epic.
Merci pour ce super top 20 qui m'a fait surgir une nostalgie incroyable 😄
J'adore ces chansons (désolé si mon français est faux)
Although Kokiri Forest is the most nostalgic for me thats mainly because OoT came out while I was still quite young and the Deku Tree dungeon scared me so I spent alot of time messing around in Kokiri Forest...however I also had a childhood crush on Saria so Saria's Song is a close second, although I will say her song is more iconic and much more of a brain worm. Im really glad to see so many people still love the character and the song after so long.👍
the kokiri Song Hit u the other nostalgic way
Mipha's theme is a real masterpiece.
And the main notes of her melody are E and F, Mi-Fa.
Now that its out, I'm so glad that totk has dome great songs too! I especially love the Colegera boss theme and the "remember this name" memory theme
I feel the same bro, saria’s theme made me cry. oot was the first zelda game i played (on the 3DS of all systems) along with link between worlds
The title theme of Adventure of Link is one of the most nostalgic for me, despite not being one of the more popular games. Something about the tone on the NES, and that melody.
I can imagine Song of Storms with lyrics like “watching the storms speed by”
Really happy to see Realm Overworld (overworld adventure by your title) in the top 20! I remain stunned to this day that something you spend almost half of your playthrough listening to manages to never get old.
This guy plays Zelda's Lullaby like a real lullaby
What a beautiful performance and production. Awesome video!
Listening to this music is grand. Actually being able to play it on an ocarina is even better.
Song of healing: **depression**
The Next song after that
**Gerudo valley**
**WE BE ESCAPING THE ARBITERS GROUNDS WITH THIS ONE** 💨 💨 💨 💨
Meanwhile at first place:
Saria's song:
**SONG OF DEATH SONG OF DEATH SONG OF DEATH SONG OF DEATH!!!!
Everyone else but Darunia: Why is Saria's Song first...?
Darunia: AWW YEAH!! TURN THAT ONE UUUUP~!
Deku palace is for me one of the best musics Iv'e heard in any video game.
I adore how You used the colors from the games. It makes it identifiable and pretty to listen and see.
Also, 4:40 13rd place is funny
Don’t forget 12nd and 11st!
Where is the minish village? 😢
It’s some of the more popular songs. Don’t get me wrong minish village goes hard.
Maybe on the top list 100
00:08
"Hey there boys and girls I got plenty of many of drugs for yooooouuuu (lot's of drugs for youuu)."
WHY DOES ZELDA’S LULLABY ALWAYS MAKE ME CRY😭😭😭
That was the best composition for the fairy fountain I’ve heard for piano, amazing
Twilight princess had the most memorable to me, nostalgia hits hard with its track
A few times the notes/chords were a bit off and it hurt my soul (ballad of the goddess was the worst offender).
On the other hand you did correctly credit ALttP with Zelda's Lullaby unlike half the internet.
i like how the number spot is just a super tiny part of the game and yet it hits harder than any zelda song in existence
Sidons theme is by far my favorite song
Sad it’s not on the list😢
same here
Mfs who discovered the legend of Zelda with breath of the wild be like:
@@luismarin3500 nah I’ve been playing the series for a while. I just think sidons theme is a banger
And Majora's Mask, one of the darkest Zelda games, is also the game that introduced _the hand in the toilet._
Zelda to me is a series about growing, both as a person and in ability. Botw and totk kinda failed at that by giving you everything from the start and also having most of the interesting stuff have already happened(totk does _slightly_ better in regards to the latter, but I miss linearity in the story.)
But in other games, Link starts out as some kid in a village, finds themselves wrapped up in something bigger (preferably by choice and not "because destiny said so" which is a major gripe I have with the series), and has to step up and be a hero. Take Wind Waker. Link is an utter goof but by the end of the game he has the confidence and the tools to stand against Ganondorf.
What I'm learning from this is that Ocarina of Time had a lot of bangers
I spent an entire hour the other day listening to different renditions of the song of storms
Lost woods is always my favorite, but the windwaker mural song always gets me
That Wind Waker track is great.
Nintendo -no need to go all out for the songs
Koji kondo - *chuckles
Always brings me back into the childhood memories. So many great songs connected with it
I’m so glad I grew up with these games
A Shame that Ballad of the Windfish didn't make it to the List.
Anyway, great Video.
サリアのテーマは納得だわ....いつ聞いても泣ける良い曲
For a game that did not do that well and got mocked, I love that Spirit tracks got some love.
I still get surprised that the molduga theme isn't here only because it is an absolute banger
No Molgera either which is equally a banger. Or the Guardian Chase theme. No bosses in general, mich makes sense mostly because that's where Zelda falls off but those are all really notable and surprising absences
Chicka chicka chicka chicka
Wasn’t on the list but the palace theme to Zelda 2 is one of my all time favorite video game music tracks
I agree especially with how little love I see it get.
Ocarina of time and majoras mask will aleays have a place in my heart
Skyward Sword's OST is VASTLY underrated! I'm glad at least one song from the game made it onto the list, but every single bit of music in that game is utter perfection! (And I will always be a Skyward Sword defender until the day I die, regardless of what the majority thinks of the game)
I agree it was Koji Kondo's best overall soundtrack for zelda (although Oot and MM are both masterclass as well). His final soundtrack for the series D':
I too love skyward sword
Faron woods theme slaps.
Legendary soundtrack for a legendary series!
Absolutely nostalgic & iconic tracks
Wind Waker was my first Zelda game, dragon roost island theme will always have a special place in my heart ❤
It was my first game as well, but the one in my heart is the legend/intro theme
My first the legend of Zelda game was breath of the wild and it is an amazing game to start on
hearing kass play his song always brings a smile to my face
We've all heard at least one of these in the background of some random youtube video, that's how good they are
I heard all in videos 😂
Koji Kondo literally changing video game music history
Zelda music just hits differently. Even so, there is a clear tierlist, with OoT and MM at the top and ALttP and WW close behind. The original music of course, is something of its own.
Hard disagree on that "clear" tier list
GOD DAMN DEKUS PALACE GOES HARD I remember 11 year old me FINNALY getting how to play Majoras mask that shit was straight fire
I love that one too ❤
This is my top 20 all time:
20 - BOTW Title Theme
19 - WW Title Theme
18 - OoT Title Theme
17 - Hidden Village
16 - Farewell Hyrule King
15 - Stone Tower Temple
14 - Realm Overworld
13 - Kakariko Village
12 - Hyrule Field(TP/Daytime)
11 - Sage Laruto
10 - Ballad of the Goddess
9 - Song of Storms
8 - Song of Healing
7 - Lon Lon Ranch
6 - Dragon Roost Island
5 - Gerudo Valley
4 - Zelda’s Lullaby
3 - Midna’s Lament
2 - Fi’s Farewell
1 - Temple of Time
ZELDA 4 LIFE 👍
We already knew lost woods was going to be #1.
