Literally every episode of “you asked” has answered questions I’ve wondered for Years. God bless you ❤
LPCM support is very important for Apple TVs and modern Xboxes, as they decode their audio into LPCM before outputting it. Including their Dolby Atmos audio, which is LPCM + Dolby MAT metadata. So if the Q600B doesn’t support it, I would definitely say go with the Q600C.
Can confirm, I had the q990b (2022 Samsung soundbar), and it would work with some Atmos content (like streaming, movies) but would not work with Atmos on devices like my Xbox or ATV4K. You would lose your center channel and subwoofer, so you couldn’t hear any dialogue or boom from the low bass since it doesn’t support linear PCM which is needed for Atmos, the audio got corrupted. It sucked and returned it for an LG bar.
Still eagerly waiting on that HDR10 v. Dolby Vision comparison video
That Sony HDMI port DV setting was confusing me -- thanks for clearing that up. Glad Sony fixed it in later models. Now AppleTV really needs to clear up their UI confusion around its Dolby Vision options.
Another helpful and informative episode of your amazing You Asked series. I sure wish the part about the Enhanced HDMI had been on when I was setting up my AppleTV 4K. But I got help from a wonderful friend in the community. Great stuff, Caleb!!! Yes, you got through it! Sure hope you were feeling great? I guess I won’t mention the darkish tone in the A-roll. Oops! I just did lol!! Love, Leezah❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️
Great explanations for 8-bit FRC vs 10-bit, and the functionality of HDMI ports on Sony TVs. Very helpful. Thank you for this!
8-bit FRC was 4K TVs 2012-2014
@@RobertK1993 and Hisense today apparently. Even their “flagship” U8K is an 8-bit FRC panel.
I like listening to this guys videos. So informative and he seems like a nice guy!
Hi Caleb, my advice is to keep on keepin’ on. It’s great as is and I feel I learn a lot from these videos.
Thanks for answering the question about DV for the Sony's, didn't realise could use on HDMI1 and HDMI2 with just Enhanced
I love these Q&A videos. Keep ‘em coming matey.
Really loving these episodes, answering all the hard home theater questions!
ok this is literally better than google search, i finally got the answer! Thank you
This is the best Q&A on the Internet! I learned so much!
Thank you for the explanation on the Sony HDMI inputs. I have a 2022 OLED and discovered that all Inputs can handle Dolby Vision through trial and error. Wish Sony would just include a software update and clarify the HDMI settings labels. 😊
I hope my questions get answered some day. Love the show
Thanks for item on HDMI 2.1. I have a Sony A95K and discovered that that standard rather than enhanced was selected. I adjusted the settings accordingly. The You Asked segments are great !
Same here Gene!!🥰
The Sony HDMI question has saved me so much time from getting the answer. I have Sony A80L and had the apple tv 4k connected on hdmi 4, but I wanted to connect my xbox series x. I had not thought i would lose the dolby vision. Now i have the apple tv 4k on hmdi 2 with no issues and have the xbox on hdmi 4.
Thank you!!!!
Man! This was so informative!
Great work!!
Thank you so much for the Sony HDMI HDR settings. NOBODY mentions this! And the same options are in my 83-a90j!
wow I understand FRC now thanks!
Me too!!
Just wanted to say you make good explanations videos I wanted ask with tv is better Sony x90L 85 inch or Samsung Qn90c neo QLED 85 inch
That's s good Q&A. Would I be right in saying the Hisense U8K has an 8bit + FRC panel?
Hey Caleb,
Loving these videos!
I need some serious help.. I’m deciding between and 83” LG G3 or a 85” Sony X95L. It’s going in a fairly well lit room but I also really love movie night with all lights off and curtains down for a cinema like experience.
But the the thing that has me worried about 83” G3 is it not having MLA. Is this a big deal??
I love the “you asked” series, but I really think they’d do better as individual 2-3 minute videos (that can be edited as shorts) for each individual question! It’s not always clear what question/answer is being covered unless you watch the full video, which doesn’t do well for non-subscribers simply searching for answers.
Keep these up!
You mean shorts
@@puredrivewhat I mention shorts in my reply.
Hard disagree. I actively avoid short videos. It's not worth my time clicking on a video that's under 5 minutes.
@@AntonioCunningham i think it depends on if you’re watching a video for entertainment or informative. If available, why wouldn’t you prefer an informative video provide all information clearly and quickly?
@@noahsmith5719 Because I *hate* having to set there babying my phone because content end too quickly.
I much rather pick something to watch/listen to and put the phone down while I work or game.
If a video is too short, I can't work or do anything else because I'm fiddling with my phone to find something else.
I wish I had the option to mute/hide all sub five minute videos as they are a *waste of time* to me.
Hey man I love your videos , i am from india
Hi there Celeb, I really enjoy You Asked series and I have not missed any episodes as of yet any.
Quick question to ask you that I have notice on Samsung TVs. On Samsung TV box, Samsung advertise saying TV supports 120Hz Motion Rate but actually panel is running at 60Hz. What does this mean and how is compare to 120Hz motion Rate Vs. 120Hz Refresh Rate? Thanks,
Hello my name is Daniel. I finally bought a new U7K based on your recommendations. I'm wondering what are the best settings for a good picture that you recommend?. Please and Thank you.
Keep this going :)
Hello, do you know if the Hisense U8K 100” has an 8-bit or 10-bit display? I went though the specs, but it wasn’t listed. It says it has billion + colors, but don’t know if that’s due to the 10-bit display or FRC. Thanks, great videos!!!
I have a question about my Hisense U8H 55,does it only have 120Hz refresh rate for game mode or is it the native refresh rate,Also what HDMI port should I be using for my Roku Ultra ? Thanks
Sony a95l. Panasonic ub820. Zeskit Maya cable. Want to use HDMI port 2 but when I turn dolby vision on the Blu ray player on, the TV can't seem to deal with it. Video cuts in and out like it's a bandwidth issue. Enhanced formats on. If I turn DV off it's all good. Any thoughts?
HI, how are you?
Can you tell me is the pic of samsung s95c better than s90c?
Thank you.
just picked up the Samsung q60cc (from costco), would that be the same thing as the q600c?
Maybe more questions and longer content :)
Interested in a new soundbar for a 500 square foot living room area. Between Vizio elevate 5.1.4 vs the vizio M series elevate 5.1.2. Both on sale so price difference of only 100. Hoping to get good surround sound and decent atmos effects. Would I be foolish to not spend the extra 100 for the bigger vizio elevate 5.1.4?
excellent. 🎩
Hello Digital Trends
Sony 43-XE7005 I am the owner hdmi 2.0 there is an entrance If I connect an Apple TV 4K with HDMI Advanced Module Scheme among the connection options, will I get Dolby Vision support? or Dolby Atmos
Hi Caleb, your pronunciation is excellent! Even non-native English speakers can understand you. 👍
I would love to see a deep dive on HDMI splitters (not switches). I've bought and returned SO MANY and still haven't found the right solution.
Update for the TCL QM8, it play great for Blu-ray/4K Video Games and google tv apps. But when I play DVDs , it terrible. Have not figure out how to improve it yet.
Whats then the difference between enhanced format and enhanced format (Dolby Vision) when Both support dv?
Hello Caleb
ive always had good luck with vizio tv's. looking to upgrade from my m70. im an avid gamer i know yall dont review many vizio tvs but any suggestions?
Not Vizio. The next one may end you.
Also they don't release much anyways
I'll wait for next year Black Friday to see if Sony Mini LED is more discounted than it is now. Maybe even see if 8K has come down in price.
Hi Caleb, I have a 17 year old Sony Bravia LCD which started delaminating on the screen and liquid crystal is oozing out causing a lot of washed out areas. Is the LG G3 a good enough upgrade or should I spend even more to maximize the disparity between the current versus new?
Thank you
If you are looking at high end OLED tv to upgrade to you may want to look into the A95L QD-OLED Sony TV.
Rtings give it a 9.5 overall score and called it one of the best TVs ever reviewed on that site period.
Caleb also gave the tv a perfect score on this site too.
Off topic but where can I find a bonsai tree like the one on the bookshelf? Been looking for one exactly like that! 😂
What is the difference between the xbox series x 4k disc player vs the Ps5's?
In a previous You Asked video you said the PS5 player is better than the series x. As someone who uses the series x for gaming and as a 4k disc player (not super often but with a growing movie library useage would increase) would I notice a difference with the quality of playback on a Samsung QN85A with a Samsung QN800A soundbar?
I really enjoy your videos as it helps me with my work, as I am a sales advisor.
The Series X disc player won’t display Dolby Vision. It’ll do HDR and Dolby Atmos, just not Dolby Vision unfortunately. Not sure on the PS5.
@@jeffleonard343PS5 doesn’t play DV either. However, it is the better 4k player.
Just get the Sony UPB-X800M2, it destroys both of them, and plays all formats, including SACD...
The PS5 actually does do Dolby Vision, however it will only do it with movies. It doesnt have DV for games.
I have a fair new SONY TV, and I put all my settings for HDMI to enhance format that allows you to have all 4 HDMI to have Dolby vision. The others HDMI three and four are for gaming 4k120z VRR and eACR.
All Sony HDMI ports support Dolby Vision 4K 60HZ only 3 and 4 A95L are 4K 120HZ
I just picked up a Samsung q750c from Best Buy on sale. Says it’s a 5.1.2 soundbar. But a q700c is a 3.1.2. Anyone have any experience with the q750c
I plugged my Apple TV into a non 2.1 HDMI port on my A80K, and Dolby vision looked HORRIBLE! I thought it was the TV, until I viewed (Foundation on Apple TV +) through the built-in app. As soon as I switched to a 2.1 port, everything was fine. Perhaps the Apple TV is doing some processing that requires 2.1. I'm using the eArc port for my Sonos Arc, and I don't really play VRR games, so I'm satisfied with this setup.
Apple TV Dolby Vision is LLDV Profile 5 it's not TV led
My new Sony 77 A95L connected to a Nakamichi Dragon soundbar will intermittently switch back and forth from external speaker (Nakamichi) to internal TV speakers and then back. Any way to fix this in the settings? There is no software "switch" in the sound settings menu to select "external only". Is this a bug?
Do you have prioritize passthrough selected?
@@default.character - Yes
@@scottbaker6344How do you like the Nakaimichi dragon? What did you have before? What do you rate it with the 2.1 firmware update? The atmos effects are next level to me!
@@MrBjorn6 - Hey! I love the dragon. In the other room is the full Sonos system with 300's. The Sonos is no slouch but the Dragon definitely has more detail within the tones. I use the dragon for movies and the Sonos for Xbox.
@@scottbaker6344Wait till you hear a real surround system with separates, day and night. I upgraded, and never looked back...
Thank you for your great videos. If you are ever interested in doing a calibration in victoria bc let me know :-) (a95l- can’t find anyone near me
Question : can i connect 5 difrrent blutooth speakers via 3.5 mm to rca with Dol;by atmos AV reciever to make a 5.1 Atmos system
Unless you have a special reciever that offers all channel inputs to but used with rca in addition to speakers wire inputs, then no. I don't know what kind of speakers you are trying to use, but it is likely they will not output the volume or quality you want if they are smaller, not to mention the power problem as most bluetooth speakers have internal batteries with short charging cables
@@kyledeeter1903 like assume i have 5 Soundcore Bluetooth speakers that supports Hi-res audio , so can i connect those 5 speakers any how with wired connection to a 5.1 Dolby Atmos Av receiver and get a 5.1 dolby Atmos sound i mean man they are just spekers why not the Av reciever will recognize them isn't it ? sorry but i genuinely want to know this badly
Question : can i connect any normal 5.1 speakers into an atmos AV reciever and they will become Dolby atmos spealers
I know I'm not caleb, but if you (for example) have a left and right front tower speakers, center speaker, sub, and left and right rears, even if it is a reciever that supports atmos, it will like know what speakers connection are being utilized and default to dolby digital 5.1. Depending on the media being viewed, there may be some overlap between what height speakers would play and the rear, but it would not be common
If you only have a 5.1 setup, you can hook up Dolby Atmos receiver to those speakers, but without the two or four height channels you will not get Dolby atmos.. height speakers are required to pull this off..
@@kyledeeter1903 Thank man for your answer
Are OLED TVs 10 big panels? Is Sony still not offering 4 HDMi 2.1 ports?
I'm assuming the TV chipsets still aren't good enough for more than 2 HDMI 2.1 ports yet. There's not enough pressure for TV makers to do so given how much Sony and Samsung are selling.
You said Sony changed the inputs for 2023 TV’s. I have the A84L and it’s still the same for hdmi ports 1 and 2…
Yeah, the HDMI inputs on my A80L are the same as my A95K. Maybe the inputs are different on the A95L?
Ii have never seen a 10 bit one i habe 8 bit or 24 bit strange lol
What will happen if we play 10bit content on 8bit panel
It look inaccurate the colours the TV try convert to SDR Sony Bravia TVs don't better than Samsung and LG
You need HDMI 2.1 for Dolby Vision Gaming on Xbox series X
I love these just the way they are….👍🤪🏳️🌈
Only for 4K 12pHZ Dolby Vision you didn't need for 4K Ultra HD Blu ray discs😂
