Vince, the reason Saskia can hit another person when dealing damage to any of their enemies, is to capture the aspect of an army. She's a warlord, leading an army. Ergo, able to engage battle on two fronts. Seems rather intuitive imo.
Considering the ammount of generals and Kings and warlords and marauder leaders and captains in this game - this makes zero sense.
Perhaps that's part of her lore? That she was good at this? But that has nothing to do with being a warlord. If anything, the more stereotypical thing for a leader of an army to do is avoid splitting their forces.
Its about as intuitive as Collector Booster contents.
I like how your go-to happy music in your videos is the Mario Paint theme. Mario paint also makes me happy.
I think the idea with rin and seris mechanics is that they are so inseperable that they unite cats and dogs to fight together. Like when one of them calls a Cat the other one immediatly calls forth a Dog or something.

On a side-note, I really felt what you said about people being whiney babies. I built tinybones, but one where I discard as well (meaning I don't retain cards like a hullbreacher/wheel combo) and my pod STILL bitched. Like, I get super oppressive stax like stasis and the orbs, but come on. Meanwhile they play eldrazi and slivers and combo decks galore. *sigh*

And as someone who plays a Marisi deck, I'll be honest. The fact that he's a hot cat man went a *long* way to inspiring me to build the deck. Thankfully, I also love the goad mechanic.
I was so happy and excited about card theft effects in commander. And then the Krenko player played confusion in the ranks against me.
I think your reaper king evaluation is fine because he's effectively a 5 color commander that is potentially colorless as well. Or to phrase that better, he's a 10 drop colorless commander that has his cost lowered by 2 for every color you pay for him. Colorless reaper is my favorite way to play him, honestly.

As someone who loves building obscure commanders (yes, I am a commander hipster), here's to you keeping this series going and getting to some of my commanders. I'd love to see my girl, Glissa the Traitor, someday make it into one of these videos. Also, thank you for the random PSA telling folks to chill out about theft effects. My Etali deck (now Nassari Dean of Expression) just wants to be free to randomly cast my opponents things.
UG Ezuri is the only EXP counter commander that can scale indefinitely whilst not having to put mana in to get the payoff.
Insane combo potential, not just with Sage of hours, Put them on a Crystalline Crawler for mana, Fathom Seer to win with Jace, Hooded Hydra/ Hangarback walker/ Chasm Skulker for more exp counters. I will write angry comments to anyone who tells me UG Ezuri is D tier
Bruh UG Ezuri is so fucking powerful. If an opponent can't get him off the field within two turns, you basically have the game in the bag

Oh...I've been waiting for Athreos. One little tip, @PleasantKenobi ...if you pick a player who will benefit from you getting the card back (like say a Skyclave Apparition when someone has played their Elish Norn or what not) they don't "pay the life" and give you the walue.

You can make tier lists for each tier when you run out of commanders (tier list of all that ended up in S, A, B etc etc)
For saying cEDH is just Commander players that are too scared to play Legacy, you are definitely a Nigel Farage on the Basterd scale. So an 8 out of 10. Just kidding (or at least mostly kidding 😉), I love your videos and love these rankings. You were spot on with your Stranger Things video too!
I'd love to play legacy but
a) I'd need to be able to afford a legacy deck
b) I'd need enough other local people to be able to afford a legacy deck
So instead we're growing a cEDH crowd at my LGS, and it's a lot of fun!
@@jamessheffield9091 cEDH is more fun anyway trust, especially when the table are running different archtypes and not just thassa consult wins. Multiplayer makes the priority/stack system and mind games way better, also less stomps since you have "allies" when you draw like shit and the table can 3v1 you when you are raid bossing making closing out a game more interesting often times.

Kruphix can be interesting, I built my Kruphix deck as a turbo fog deck, winning through forcing everyone to draw their decks

I can deal with people stealing my stuff, as annoying as it can be. But simultaneously taking my stuff and effectively making me discard multiple cards at the same time is just. Brutal. A well prepped Sen Triplets can easily do unrecoverable damage to someone.

Winota is the secret commander of my Naya Werewolf tribal deck, and honestly, that's where she will probably the most powerful in Commander for all of eternity
My Prossh deck doesn’t use Food Chain (because what am I, made of money??). Instead I made his deck into a minus counter theme with Hapatra, Scorpion God, and Yawgy-boy as lieutenants.
Won't lie, I only watched because I saw Slimefoot and "Commander Players Deserve to be Roasted". I wanted to see what he had to say about Slimefoot because I love the Fun-Guy

back when prophet of kruphix was legal i played a rhoon deck that because of the battle cruiser style of 2013 edh i was able to generate a loop of

If you have a lot of mana because of prophet of kruphix you just had "extra turns" in the middle of your opponents turns.

I am very very offended. So offended. How bloody dare you Vince. I’m offended
I can explain why Veyran is in the top commanders. I built it trying to make something fun and casual and it ended up killing everyone very quickly.
It does not taking copying Aria of Flame, Guttersnipe, or those many effects before everyone at the table is dead. It also copies cards like Birgi, God of Storytelling and Storm-Kiln artist, which often gives you more mana then you cast into spells. Finally the deck just wins if you can get a Thousand Year storm onto the battlefield.
However, not only does it kill people while I combo out, it also kills people when I remove and counterspell their stuff. Try to wipe my board? Counterspell and I guttersnipe everyone for 4. Somehow she also just ends up a 14/14 and I swing in for a lethal kill.
It is easily one of the strongest commander decks I've ever built because of how easily everyone just dies and how helpless everyone else is.
Ruric thar + fiery emancipation is a fun little interaction.

the only time i hate theft effects is when theres an ur dragon and an eldrazi titan on the field, and my opponent takes my fucking Osgir again, despite not having any artifacts in their graveyard
Estrid is my favorite commander of all time. She combos with Chain Veil, which is an interesting avenue for an Enchantress deck. I, in fact, *have won with commander damage with my Estrid many times.*

I had Ruric-Thar for a long while. I have him lifelink so they never hurt me when I cast Wildfires and Mindslavers.
Out of the 27ish commander decks I have made (I do have breed lethality and plunder the graves, so not counting them I didn't make them) over the 3 videos I ended up with... 1xS, 2xA, 1Xb, 2xC, 4xD. 10(+2)/30 decks.
Magda, Brazen Outlaw, Wort, Boggart Auntie, Doran, the Siege Tower, Zaxara, the Exemplary, Kalamax, the Stormsire, Syr Gwyn, Hero of Ashvale, Horde of Notions, Grothama, All-Devouring, Heliod, Sun-Crowned, Emiel the Blessed, Ink-Treader Nephilim (not legal but have a deck), Obuun, Mul Daya Ancestor, Kathril, Aspect Warper
Are most of the other commanders I have. I hope when the rest of these are done I fall mostly not in the D/C tiers :P

Roon is my favorite commander, and to hear such kind words from our Lord and Savior Vince, has me a bit teary eyed.
Ok but saskia starts to get even more fun when you start putting out damage multipliers -> you put out fiery emancipation. You attack an open opponent with a 5/5 that turns into 15 damage, the opponent targeted with saskia takes 45 damage because it triples again
Non-food chain Prossh represent
Marisi is actually a disgustingly efficient commander and I think possibly the best Naya commander. All it takes is 3 evasive creatures and your opponents have to constantly deal with Marisi, also it comes out turn 3 a lot. Great stax commander
As a long time Prossh player, I feel like almost all of the hate was because it was very easy to build a strong Prossh deck 8 years ago. He was sortof the OG commander+1card infinite combo. Nowadays I don't think he's that good. His combo doesn't win the game in and of itself, and there are SEVERAL commanders now that will win the game on the spot with a food chain combo, or some other cheap 1 card+commander combo which for fun I will go through a quantity of them.
