Americans Refuse To Buy EV’s | Why

  • Despite the increasing popularity and advancements in electric vehicles (EVs), there are several reasons why some Americans remain hesitant to purchase them:
Range Anxiety: Many consumers are concerned about the limited range of EVs compared to traditional gasoline vehicles. While range has improved with newer models, the fear of running out of battery power, especially on long trips or in areas with sparse charging infrastructure, remains a significant barrier.
Charging Infrastructure: The availability and accessibility of charging stations continue to be a concern for potential EV buyers. Some areas, particularly rural or less developed regions, have fewer charging options compared to urban areas. The perceived inconvenience of charging compared to refueling at a gas station can deter consumers from choosing EVs.
Cost Considerations: Although EVs offer lower operating costs over time due to savings on fuel and maintenance, the upfront cost of purchasing an EV can be higher than that of a comparable gasoline vehicle. This initial cost barrier, despite potential long-term savings, may deter budget-conscious consumers from choosing an EV.
Perceived Lack of Model Variety: While the EV market has expanded with more models available, some consumers perceive a limited variety of EVs compared to traditional vehicles. Preferences for specific vehicle types (e.g., SUVs, trucks) and concerns about vehicle size, features, and performance options can influence purchasing decisions.
Resale Value and Technology Concerns: Uncertainty about the resale value of EVs, particularly concerning battery life and technological advancements, can deter consumers from investing in new technology. Rapid advancements in EV technology and concerns about battery durability and replacement costs may contribute to skepticism about long-term ownership costs.
Consumer Awareness and Education: Many consumers may lack familiarity with EVs, including their benefits, technology, charging options, and government incentives. Misconceptions about EV performance, reliability, and environmental impact may contribute to reluctance or skepticism about making the switch from gasoline vehicles.
Preference for Gasoline Vehicles: Some consumers have strong preferences for the familiarity, convenience, and perceived reliability of gasoline vehicles. Established infrastructure for gasoline refueling, along with historical dependence on internal combustion engines, can influence consumer preferences and purchasing behavior.

When the Federal Govt and State govt kick in for you to buy an EV. That's a big red flag. The tech is Not where it needs to be. How are you powering the charging systems for EVs? That's right. Power generated by oil and coal. When your local power grid has a spike does the charging system go back to Zero?

The only way I will have one is if the government buys it for me,.

You forgot a new problem. Stolen EV Charging cables. Apparently the high voltage copper cable is worth a good chunk of change. I’ve seen torn up or misused chargers… I’ve seen broken gas pumps but a missing cable? And the place that has it won’t fix it because guess what? “It’s too expensive” 👀🤣🤣🤣 noooope staying de heck away!

People around the world dont want the hassle of relying only on electricity and charging... why should they buy an EV when a hybrid does the job better and you have an ICE as a backup (a so called "range extender"). You get a hybrid, which is cheaper... you get ~ 100km of fully electric drive, and 600km from the ICE engine. No EV can match that. No EV can charge as fast as filling up with gasoline.
If it is a plug-in hybrid, you can also charge it at home, you get enough range to go to work and do groceries and so on, while not having to rely only on a battery.
The downfall of EVs are hybrids. Even Elon said it.
Gasoline will stay for a while. Having an EV might look cheaper in short-term use (if you change it every 5 years and cut the losses from the price difference). But long term use its horrible and expensive to keep on the road in any amount of reasonable range.
Owning a gasoline car means you get more free time, which is more valuable than not paying for gasoline. Owning a gasoline car means you value your freedom more than the money you would spend on gasoline every month. Owning a hybrid means you get the best of both worlds, a cheaper, more reliable on a daily basis car that eliminates everything from range anxiety to not having so much battery waste when scrapped.
EVs are a gimmick that was born from the mind of an idiot, it didn't succeed 100 years ago, and it should not succeed now.
No one wants to recycle those batteries. And we don't have enough lithium to make a pure EV for everyone on the planet, so why even bother considering it a solution. When the lithium deposits run dry, it gets harder and harder to mine, meaning, prices go up, because people spend more time mining for less of the stuff. Which means, everything using lithium batteries (phones, laptops, EVs, tools) will go up in price, because some dipshit decided to make an "electric supercar" which cant beat a 15 year old gasoline sportscar on a track. Speaking of tracks... EVs are less reliable and more than 15000% less fun there... The current battery tech is not ready for EVs.
We need batteries that are better in the following ways, before forcing people to buy EVs:
    -Not exploding when punctured.
-Better capacity or just more efficient electric motors (at least 4 times as much range)
-Lower weight (at least 4 times lighter)
    -Easier and cheaper to recycle!
-WAY better lifetime (a battery cell usually starts having problems with daily use after 2-3 years, we need to make it at least 10-15 years)
-Lower cost. (at least 10 times lower cost)
-Faster charging (right now the average charge time from 10 to 80% is 1.5 hours, for all EVs. Take that down to 5-10 minutes.)
Even after all these things, most people will own an EV and a gasoline car. Gasoline had 120 years to make an infrastructure, EVs will make you beg some stranger to charge at their house during a road trip, or it will just make you stranded in the middle of the forest or the highway.
In this year alone (From Jan 2024 to June 2024) I've seen 7 stranded EVs on the highway between the two points of charging (130km or 70 miles apart). And those are just the ones I've seen, the real number is much much higher. Towing service isnt cheap as well.
The fall of the EVs is simply because it was a hype balloon that popped.

Hybrids make the most sense currently, as political factions in the US are deeply in bed with the oil industry and fighting EVs as a result.

It takes a lot less than 18 minutes to fill your car with gas and time is the only commodity on the planet that is more valuable than money. Plus, the idea that EV's are somehow better for the environment than ICE's is PURE IGNORANCE. The kind of ignorance that is born out of having absolutely zero understanding of how the world around you actually works.

What is the sense to travel so far and so quickly to be slowed down by charging. A really stupid concept of transportation.
