I love the way Adrian says "I'll just make it to the same standard as the other door.." and all of us are picking our jaws off the floor at the stunning skill of the guy. We applaud you too, Harry, for getting the Zagato done to such a level, as the cost of all the hours of skill must be a bit of an "Ouch!" moment, but it will be stunning.
I think Harry would say gobsmacked when describing how we feel about Adrian's skills. I also want to thank Harry's pocketbook for not going cheap on this restoration. The car is going to be amazing.
@Uncle Gilbert I might be interested in your expert analysis, but you'll have to replace that starter motor. I'm not having my farts analysed by some French piece of junk.
Speaking as an ex mechanic, I was always,in awe of the guys in the sheet metal/bodyshop. How they could manufacture structure and panels from scratch amazed me. However, Adrian is on another level - truly fantastic craftsmanship. Yes, the bill will be an 'ouch!' moment, even with Harrys deep pockets - but the result will be outstanding and super- valuable.
I find it comforting to know that there are still people who can do work at this level. Just brilliant. And I love the humility when they talk about what they've done; "I just made the other door to the same standard. "JUST?!" It might take a while to finish but you'll know it was done as right as it could be. Just gorgeous!

Indeed. I'm watching him describe all the work he did to repair the body and thinking "I really, really hope they have some apprentices there to carry on Adrian's knowledge."
As a trained craftsman (aircraft) - I consider the term artisan to be an insult. The last thing I would want is my work to be viewed as artisanal. Artisanal work is all too often hit and miss, self taught, highly variable, unrepeatable and nothing like the skill levels and more importantly quality standards demanded of a time-served (practical rigour) night school educated (Theory grounding) craftsperson. Any of us, so trained, could do this quality of work because these are the standards we were taught over years following our similarly time-served mentors. “I can’t live with that!” Is exactly how we are taught to think as well as work. Things have to be done right or not at all. These Zagato cars were built originally by old school Italian coach builders who again are proper craft workers. The hideous repairs, bodges, and horror stories under the skin were clearly done by people making it up as they went along. That is what I think of when I hear the term Artisan.
That’s a couple of proper craftsmen right there, they know exactly what they’re doing, and don’t need to shout about it, This cars going to look fantastic when it’s finished.
Looking fantastic Harry. Watching all this encouraged us to rescue the Mrs’ rotten but much loved 2001 1.7 Puma. Having chopped out all the rust, welding in new steel, fabbing panrls as needed all down the car and painting from to match. It’s a very satisfying feeling. Great to see the Zagato taking shape too.
These chaps really know their craft. They have awakened the lines of this car, which were hidden by previous bodgers. You're in very good hands, Harry!
For sure. Body work is never cheap (if it is, run away) but this car shows what you get when you try to save a few bucks versus doing it right the first time
You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off! Great artisanship. Incredible attention to detail, no lazy shortcuts, perfectly executed. Lovely. Absolutely no need to call this work art. Proper artisanship is something different but certainly no less in value and deserves to be recognized as such. You're going to have another amazing collectible, Harry. Thank you for sharing!
The amazing ability to craft a custom panel to make the car RIGHT, is soo rare these days. Thank you for not only bringing this content, but also your sacrifice - This is not cheap!
When Sam says the lights fit "perfectly" there is something that makes me think thats an accurate description. Most people throw words like that around but I have a feeling he really means it.
I’ve just watched all nine instalments (so far). The engine rebuild is superb but the metalwork is just out of this world. Best series of films I can ever remember seeing.
What sorcery is this? These craftsmen are exemplary in their skills. At this moment in time, I am contemplating my next vehicle. I couldn't help but feel that the attachment you will have with this Lancia Fulvia after this wonderful restoration will never match whatever attachment I will have with my new vehicle. Wonderful work and it is always a joy and pleasure to see that there are true craftsmen (of both genders) out there.
Just stunning craftsmanship and I think those front wings have become my favourite of any car. Blown away by rear boot edging too and love how he talks so matter of factly about gapping the doors and other techniques and they are perfect!!
This is the video I've been wanting to see! The sheer quality of Adrian & Sam's work is a joy to behold & a rare privilege. The sharpness of the crease/swage lines is truly amazing & really defines the car , yet they are still finding areas of rust in difficult places! However, these are dealt with so professionally & so calmly, to the point it seems more like a minor inconvenience, rather than a major headache if any amateur car mechanic had to face such a problem. Keep up the great work, but I have one request....please don't keep us waiting another 4 months for the next episode! 👍🔥👍
Brilliant timing! I've just finished rewatching the previous episodes, then this pops up. I had the Corgi model of the Zagato when I was a nipper (the early style with side opening bonnet). I came home from school one day to find that my mum had accidentally put some of my collection in the bin. OUCH! I think that was the first Corgi to have an opening bonnet + engine. It may also have been the first with opening doors. So this has been a trip down memory lane for me. Thank so much for investing the not inconsiderable funds needed for a proper body rebuild. There's now at least one which will be preserved for future generations to admire.
The skills and attention to detail here are incredible. These need to be taught to the younger generation, but I don't think you could train into someone the passion and sense of achievement. Truly wonderful.
I could listen and watch these two extraordinary craftsmen for hours and never get tired of thinking 'how did they do that'? Harry I love all your video series but the Lancia tugs my heart strings. Thanks for bringing us along for the ride.
What an amazing transformation in that body! It reminds me of being taught by an ex Rolls Royce panel/metalworking expert named Harold, back in the 1960's He too was brilliant at details and making sure that everything was perfect! Fascinating!

WOW! You don’t realise how much work to exacting detail is involved until you see a car stripped down like this one. Great job guys. Looking forward to seeing the finished product, maybe by or before July 2022.
I'm so happy to see the little Lancia again! Loved this video series so far, and I'm in awe of these men's workmanship: sure your car will be much better than it has ever been, and I look forward to see it shining in Rosso San Siro :)
I’m not a particularly huge fan of these cars or of Zagato per se, but the salt-of-the-earth genius, the sheer ability they display here has me routing for the success of this project as if it is my own investment and this project has, as a surprise to me, become my favorite Harry’s Garage project series yet. So I guess I’m saying thanks to all who have devoted their time to putting this online, Harry, the boys in the shop. Just great stuff.
It's astonishing to see the lines as they should be. In retrospect the old shape sculpted in filler was looking very rounded, almost Austin Allegro-esque at the back! But these guys have really worked a miracle. When Harry first showed it in bare metal, I thought there was no way they could bring it back into shape. Yet a few months of careful crafting, and, well, the result is speaking for itself.
Fabulous craftsmanship sorting out astonishing corrosion, and bizarre 'repair' work. This Zagato when finished is going to be the best in the world! I think back to the video of Harry driving the car before it went for this restoration, when we now know it was essentially just a cobweb of metal with seats and an engine...gulp!
This car will end up the lightest Lancia Fulvia 1600 Zagato in the world. Very little bog, double up panels removed and a perfect fit for all the panels. Sensational work. I'm glad I'm not paying the bill for this resto
Fascinating story we're sharing with this restoration. It's a treat and a real insight to see these guys perform their magic! It's going to be a very special car I suspect.
Apprentice body shop panel beaters should view this as dogma. The quality of workmanship and the way the work done is being described is just staggering. Waited patiently for this video and now having seen it I am in no way whatsoever disappointed. Fantastic content as usual from Mr M.
Unbelievable quality of workmanship! To know this work is still being carried out to an exemplary standard makes you so proud of the skills we have in this country!
Having started to watch this episode yesterday which popped into on my feed, I stopped it and binged watched all 9 parts. I'm not sure how you can take that rallying now after the huge love expended on it by Day and Whites and Sam and Adrian, Masters all. It was a delight to watch them all together in sequence. That Zagato has surely taken a completely unseen direction for you now and has to be cherished by you, your family and generations to come. It's not even finished yet but you know that it has to be the best example of that wonderful car. I'm not into over babying cars but boy, I would if I had that one. The craftsmanship of those talented but humble guys is a joy to behold .
This is like watching a Retropower video. Similar brilliant skill levels, but far more detail as to what was and what will be. So happy to see this car receiving the care it deserves.
I love listening to these two guys, it’s not that I’m learning anything, it’s all too advanced for me.🤪 They both seem so natural in front of the camera. Thanks chaps!
What an odyssey this has been and there is still a good way to go. I went back to watch the first installment of the restoration series in which Harry optimistically describes the project as an engine rebuild "but we might have some more jobs done." Kudos to you, Harry, for your willingness to see this through. She's gonna be a beauty!
British craftmanship at it’s finest. 😊👌 You really has something to be proud of. And hopefully there’s a new generation of panel magicians around, ready to carry the torch.
A joy to watch the dedication Sam and Adrian are putting into the body rebuild. We are witnessing years and years of working to the highest standards. I couldn't help hoping that some keen younger generation have the chance to learn from these craftsmen before they hang up their tools.
This car is lucky it found you. Many wouldn’t have the dedication to put the car right again..It’s nearly a full reskin, not to mention the rockers and other structural pieces. These gentlemen really know their craft. I’ve restored some very rusty muscle cars and it’s many hours of fabrication and labor.
You can get this work done to the same standard in many countries, maybe for less money. In each case, only a minority of restorers would have the skills, but it is not a uniquely British skill. The guys who bodged it were also British...
Love these restoration videos, the interaction between Harry and the restorers, the work that has gone into it...makes me wish that I could work magic like them as well
I love this series of Harry fixing his cars! One thing I'm really noticing as a Canadian is their diverse accents. I've known for many years all about the differences between the many British accents and their many origins since I first watched "My Fair Lady" as a child. LOL. But here when the "panel sop" men are speaking they have a very thick Cockney type (I think) accent compared to Harry's Posh sounding British accent. VERY cool!
The amount of work that’s been put into the new body by Adrian is unreal but it’s looking amazing, the sharpness of the panel lines is immaculate can’t wait for the next update
Adrian and Sam are true artists in metal. They have pretty much built you a new Zagato! What beggars belief is the previous "restoration" and the corrosion it was hiding! Prestige have turned your nightmare into a dream car.....
Harry thank goodness for the new fabricated TAILGATE cannot wait to see the brown paper templates to the finished article.!!! Bravo Sam and Adrian and the other Elves involved!!!
I'm in total awe at the skill levels and perfectionist attitude of these guys. This will undoubtedly be the best bodied Fulvia Zagato on the planet. Lucky Harry has deep pockets. Also interesting to hear how even a straight from factory Zagato had lashings of filler, seems "bespoke" in Italian translates as "bodged".
Looking fabulous! Great to see the sharp and subtle lines emerging from under all that filler. Can't believe the quality of the previous 'restoration'. Looking forward to seeing it in colour.
I cannot overstate just how much respect and admiration I have for the work that these gentlemen do. Were they to have their own TH-cam channel, I would imagine that "Carcheology" would be a most appropriate name for it. Thanks for the update!!!
Your Zagato will look amazing Harry, those crisp, sharp lines make such a difference. Fantastic craftsmanship and fabrication skills, a pleasure to watch Adrian doing his stuff. British craftsmanship is alive and well, hurrah for that. This car will be bloody lovely.

so love the work that you're doing on this car! Its amazing to see the craftsmanship involved. I hope they've taken on an apprentice! The sharp lines and curves transform the zagato body into something very special.
I've never seen a Zagato in person. I've only ever seen them oin virtual tours, videos like this and the like. I've never seen one with sharp edges as pronounced as this. In fact, the front fenders almost look foreign to me or at least my mind. But it looks so much better and fitting to the car once you see those edges and curves as they were meant to be. Well done on the mastery of skills presented to this project.
I would frame the old door skin with the original red paint as “art” to hang on the garage wall behind it...a reminder of where the car was at in 2021 in years to come!
It's truly unbelievable what that metal master has achieved. Love to videos like this. Enjoyed seeing the mechanical restoration too in previous films.
This is becoming one of those Ship of Theseus moments... won't be much original left... but man it's so cool to see true craftsman at work. Thanks Harry for taking us on this journey!

This chap knows how to do metal work, he’s a real artisan and a master of his craft!
Amazing to see the rust, totally rotten, then the bare metal and then with primer. It's bloody amazing what these artisans have achieved.
Incredible to watch these absolute masters do their work, would love to see it in person
I always love how a quick coat of primer can make a patchy eyesore look like a perfect car (provided all the right work has been done, of course).
And what happens when these artisans stop working, will there be anybody to replace them?

Fascinating story we're sharing with this restoration. It's a treat and a real insight to see these guys perform their magic! It's going to be a very special car I suspect.
Apprentice body shop panel beaters should view this as dogma.
The quality of workmanship and the way the work done is being described is just staggering.
Waited patiently for this video and now having seen it I am in no way whatsoever disappointed. Fantastic content as usual from Mr M.
Unbelievable quality of workmanship! To know this work is still being carried out to an exemplary standard makes you so proud of the skills we have in this country!
Projects like this are why TH-cam needs a 'Wow' button. What amazing work these guys are doing.
Listening to the work that’s gone into the doors was magic 👨🏻🏭
I love listening to these two guys, it’s not that I’m learning anything, it’s all too advanced for me.🤪 They both seem so natural in front of the camera. Thanks chaps!
Wow ! The lines of this car are awesome !
Everywhere you look, there's not a single straight body line. Amazing work from Adrian ! 👍😊
The dying art of craftsmanship. I love watching these catch up on the Zagato.
Stunning workmanship from Sam and Adrian. Well done, guys.
Great to see the update on the Zagato. Sam & Adrian are true artists and craftsmen.
British craftmanship at it’s finest. 😊👌
You really has something to be proud of. And hopefully there’s a new generation of panel magicians around, ready to carry the torch.
these guys deserve to be called ''metal artists''. Such nice transformation.
She's coming on beautifully. What a treat to see craftsmanship like this on display.
Seeing this project develop must bring you enormous satisfaction.
The skill of these guys is out of this world! Sadly and possibly a dying breed
Outstanding Harry!!! The gentleman who did the outside skin repairs is a magician. He deserves a raise.
so pleased to see how well this work is coming along - the metalwork mechanic Adrian could run his own courses on how to do this
A joy to watch the dedication Sam and Adrian are putting into the body rebuild.
This bodywork is turning into ‘triggers broom’… I’m totally blown away by the skill of the metal worker though, astonishing!!!
It looks like it already was!
British craftsmanship at its finest and you end up with a silk purse 👍🏻🏴
You can get this work done to the same standard in many countries, maybe for less money. In each case, only a minority of restorers would have the skills, but it is not a uniquely British skill. The guys who bodged it were also British...
Harry sums this up brilliantly "its got to a standard I never expected to see"
Love these restoration videos, the interaction between Harry and the restorers, the work that has gone into it...makes me wish that I could work magic like them as well
So glad there are folk like Harry keeping these cars and skills alive.
That new door he made is a work of art
Must have missed it, but hopefully is it going to be finished in it's original colour, orange? 👍
I cannot overstate just how much respect and admiration I have for the work that these gentlemen do. Were they to have their own TH-cam channel, I would imagine that "Carcheology" would be a most appropriate name for it. Thanks for the update!!!
Superb craftsmanship. I keep imagining someone called Carlo saying ‘ looks about right to me’ in Italian at the Zagato works back in the day.
Thuis turns out to be a re built from scratch - simply stunning work and craftsmanship!!! Awesome!
The attention to detail and the hours they are putting to make this car perfect. Better than perfect. Thank you for the update.
I'm looking forward to seeing the smile on your face on your first drive.
The craftsmanship of these guys is astonishing. The shell is probably going to be better than when it left the factory.

They are one of the best concerts, you can not go but just seeing them from the screen, I know it was surprising
💗❤💌💘dew
Fabulous cars would be lost without people like you Harry, thanks.
I've missed these updates so much! Good to see the excellent work, they really are genius these people 🙂
so love the work that you're doing on this car! Its amazing to see the craftsmanship involved. I hope they've taken on an apprentice! The sharp lines and curves transform the zagato body into something very special.
Amazing craftsmanship on this restoration. This car is literally being reborn.
That is the most beautiful line on the top of the front wing that I have ever seen on a car, ever.
The amount of work and the craftsmanship that's gone into this project is astounding.
I would frame the old door skin with the original red paint as “art” to hang on the garage wall behind it...a reminder of where the car was at in 2021 in years to come!
Absolutley!!!
I have something like that, I don't call it art. Its the "Hall of shame" where I keep stuff like that.
It's truly unbelievable what that metal master has achieved. Love to videos like this. Enjoyed seeing the mechanical restoration too in previous films.
Such a beautiful car, can't wait to see it finished! My father had a Fulvia, I can still smell the interior of it now.
The line on the front wings is so sharp and a wonderful curve up to the top. Fabulous.
Adrian is an absolute genius with the metalwork, absolutely outstanding stuff.
I’ve been looking forward to this update. Great to the the progress, by the time they are finished you’ll have the best example in the country!
Lovely car, lovely work, lovely guys - an absolute treat. Thanks, Harry!
This is becoming one of those Ship of Theseus moments... won't be much original left... but man it's so cool to see true craftsman at work. Thanks Harry for taking us on this journey!
Adrian and Sam are two blokes at the top of their game 👏
