Great video and good info, but when taking apart the brake backing plate all you had to do was disconnect the brake cable from the intermediate cable and pull the axle and and leave the brake shoe on the backing plate and remove it all as one assembly. One question did your kit come with a brake line clip to weld to the axle to mount the brake lines together. Right Stuff has a good video on installing there system.

No welding involved with our kit. We have brackets that will screw into the lower shock mount using self tappers. It will screw directly into the line and hold it all in place. Not everyone has a welder or knows how to use it which is why we went with the bolt on route for everything.

Taking the old brake shoe assembly apart is not necessary. It can be removed in its entirety when you remove the backing plate.

That is how we did the other side as we left it all alone and slide it off to make things quicker. Always more then one way to do it!

Do you still have a parking brake after the conversion?

As long as you purchase the brake kit with the e-brake option yes. Adjustments will need to be made to the cables under the car but it will have a functioning e-brake.
