Damn those microphones sound insanely good, it still boggles my mind that some new headsets coming out have mics that sound like they're from a MW2 COD lobby 😂
that's because compression over the internet, he is recording it on high quality but if he uses it in the same in-game voice chat is gonna sound weaker.
Wired will always sound better than wireless, also on console you can't use the software to make mics (Like arctis pro wireless or Audeze Penrose) sound good.
@@omkararora I just got mine and they are loud enough. Tried with both usb and 3.5mm, I have my PC volume set to 26 right now and it's more than enough
Wow , i remembered the time when Sennheiser gaming headphone's mic were one of the best out there although for a price , now Corsair single handedly won the gaming headset microphone quality all the way for wayyyyyyy cheaper too.
@AmpEdition I'll have to look into that thanks for the info. So you say the mic quality on yours is better too? Because mainly I want a $100 sound quality through the speakers for my "competitive" gaming and the mic to sound at least as good as the HS80 rgb USB in this vid so I can use it for my videos til I can get an XLR mic setup or even stick with this mic forever lol.
im really impressed with the mic audio from the HS80 and HS65. Would really like a review of the new Arctis Nova Pro Wireless/Non-Wireless just to see how they compare since that even though they're like twice as expensive compared to the HS80 Wireless, no one else is really doing anything like Arctis is doing in terms of how many features it has.
Corsair needs to teach other brands (looking at you HyperX and Logitech) how to build a good headset mic, really impressive for the price. I just hope that those headsets have no background noise problems cause all of my friends who had Corsair headsets were hearing some kind of electrical noise when no sound was being played.
@@mrPCbuilds. HyperX does make good headsets, don't get me wrong, I've recommended them to my friends a lot. They can definitely improve on the mic quality tho who has very good background noise isolation but doesn't sound natural and full at all.
The only thing that breaks it for me is no detachable cable. No matter how good a cable is, something can happen and buying a whole new headset b/c of a cable is just pain. Also I find it odd that your mic test of the hs55 and hs65 are so different while other videos I've seen the mics seem identical. Wonder how that happens.
yout totally right I also saw other videos of the HS55 vs HS65 and they weren't that far of, yes the mic on the HS65 is better but not by that much. In the video it sounds like it wasn't recorded properly or it had gone threw some changes!
I have always been a fan of Corsair products for pretty much everything but bought an RDA0027 a year and a half ago at the $59 price point and almost immediately had nothing but problems from terrible mic quality to constantly having to unplug and plug it back in after the sound would just stop in the middle of gaming. Glad to hear their newer headsets are better
250€ FOR corsar k1000 rgb stops working during gaming I have to unplug it Imagine that during pvp gaming Corsair support blames my pc so I got stuck with a broken keyboard
I was excited about the HS65 Surround... And then I noticed it was open back. I like headsets that block out background noise. The open back headsets tend to let too much outside noise in. With a closed back headset you can play games while there's someone else in the room watching TV, etc. With the open back you usually can't do that because, not only will you hear the TV, but sometimes the other person will even hear your audio coming through the back of your headset.
Suppression of background noise always comes at a price as voice manipulation and filtering happens. I've always heard that audio manipulation in test clips when background noise suppression in on. Sounds a bit robotic. The H65 and H80 mics sound amazing! BTW - Amazon currently has a coupon code (may require Prime but don't think so) in the US site for $20 off the H65; $59.99 + tax.
A good directional microphone can sound fine. Sound processing on the other hand does tend to degrade the sound quality, especially when using older and simpler algorithms. Some of the newer developments are however miles better than what was available just a few years ago. Krisp as implemented by Discord is pretty light weight, doesn't have any HW lock-in, does a pretty good job of eliminating key clicks and most noise from the surrounding while leaving the voice recognizable if still definitely processed. But if it's noisy enough it can be worth it. Nvidia Broadcast is objectively better than Krisp, but is tied to Nvidia hardware and still adds some of that robotic quality that you talk about. The good thing here is that it's possible to choose if you want to or have to use noise suppression instead of the microphone sounding crap from the beginning.
I bought HS80 (cable version) for 84 euro on the black Friday i also have Razer blackshark v2 and Logitech g432 after using the HS80 for like 10 min i don't want to put on my other headsets ever again. Please razer and logitech pay some money to Corsair to teach you how to make microphones and comfort. For this price range i am sure nothing can beat them.
HS65/HS80 have the most natural sounding integrated mics I've heard since the Cooler Master MH751/MH752 from several years ago, which was clear enough to be mistaken for a lav mic in most non-professional listening setups.
The only complaint I have about the HS80s is that the earcup fabric Will inevitably start to pull away off of the ear cups, so just be aware of that. They will most likely need repaired or replaced because of it. Aside from that, literally the best $100 range headset I've ever owned, with the best mic by far, and I've gladly bought two so far. And will probably buy more over time.
Looks great overall but I would maybe suggest 2 things. 1. Make it into a detachable cable incase there would be a problem with the cable in the future 2. Make the earpads of the hs80 a possible separate product that would fit the hs50 and 60 lineup since some might like the lower versions more but would want the pads of the premium version. Overall, goodjob corsair!
That audio recording sounds great, but I'm wary of non-replaceable headset mics. They always seem to break and leave you with a mediocre pair of headphones. I'm running a Philips Fidelio X2HR with a V-MODA Boom Pro, modular is the way to go
@@EnlighterMinh Hard for me to say without a pair here next to me, but as long as the Audio Technica detachable cable is a standard 3.5mm audio, then it should work. As for sound quality, it's better than pretty much any headset mic I've heard, but that's a low bar. They actually have a video on the Boom Pro here at Hardware Canucks and that's worth checking out for some audio samples EDIT: Looks like the m50x uses 2.5mm and a weird locking mechanism? There's people out there who use them with a Boom Pro but with an adapter. Check Reddit
When considering the HS65, be aware that the headband is prone to cracking in the middle. I only had mine for three months before it cracked, and now, a year later, it's completely broken in two and held together with duct tape. I'm thinking about upgrading to the HS80, but I’ve heard from others that it can feel tight for those with slightly larger heads. I hope the HS80 has more durable plastics and doesn’t experience the same issues.
How comfortable to the head it is? Am worried about comfort Plus am looking to the H65 to my budget coz am ordering it internationally What do u think?
@@grey.98 I think the earcups on the HS80 make a difference in comfort but I haven't tried the HS65. The Razer Blackshark is supposed to be comfortable but HS80 is so much better.
The HS80 mic quality is just crazy .. also soundID a very good idea... so many people always complain about sound profiles but dont actually change anything in the EQ ... with soundID that wont be a problem anymore
I got the hs80 but I hear a constant hissing whenever a sound is made if I have icue downloaded. Once I deleted icue and all it’s files they stopped making the hissing sound but I need icue for fixing the EQ. Any idea or tips?
@@mrflimpam5948 yea a bit late for refund lol but I’m gonna be buying a different headset I find battery life on this one to be pretty bad. Other than battery it’s a really good headset
Just bought one (HS65). Glad that ive made a good choice.btw.. are you dutch or scandinavian? I hear a clearly European accent.. 😉 btw , great video 👊🏼
Seems like all budget headsets have pleather earcups which instantly kills me even considering them as an option. What I wouldn't give for $40 headphones that prioritize comfort, it's all I want. But if I want comfort I always have to go to the $100 category which blows because most headphones die after 18 months of use for me despite how much I pay.
Ive been a hs80 owner for 4 months and I love them the mic is best in class and they sound great and you can tune them to sound better with the software
Thinking about getting these, and I’m bit of a newbie to headsets. When you tune them, does the tuning stay that way even if it isn’t connected to the computer? Say you adjust the audio and then plug them into your phone to listen to music
wow the HS80 had me fooled, i literally had to go backwards in the video and play it again when i realized it was the headphones , i didn't notice. amazing
Hey, just wanted to drop some info here as a buyer of an HS65 White. I've had this headset for about 7-8 months, and I have a bit bigger head I guess than some. If you've seen enough reviews online about the HS65 you will hear some people address that the headband's plastic will start to crack in the middle over time. I took a bit of a gamble seeing if it was as bad as people made it out to be and unfortunately, it is. The headband cracked within 4 months of having the headset. Keep in mind I'm not absurdly hard on my perifrials, I try to take good care of my things. Anyway, the headset band is just a bit narrower than lots of other headsets I've tried and it seems to put an abnormal amount of strain on the top plastic making it almost pinch downward in the middle. I'm 4 months down the line of the first part cracking and it's gotten a bit worse to the point I'm thinking I'm going to be buying another headset soon. Just thought I'd share that important piece of info some people might find useful. One great thing about the headset though is an amazing microphone. Just like he describes this headset sounds so good with its mic quality. I'm assuming It has something to do with Corsair owning Elgato and having that microphone tech. Anyway, the headset is very comfortable despite me having a larger head. The fit and finish of the headset is super nice. The soft-touch plastic around is sensitive to marks and scuffs, but if you get a black one I can imagine a lot more of that is hidden compared to the white one, so just keep that in mind if you want a white one. Another plus is the USB dongle that comes with the headset. You can actually connect any standard 3.5mm headphones into it and use the IQUE software to eq them which I found cool. The cable itself like they said as well is very nice, though it does have weird kinks in it due to the way it's wrapped to send out and I've noticed it doesn't like to 100% unkink. Again it's been 8 months of owning this so thought I'd address that. Now to the sound, simply put it's great. Out of the box, it sounds (for my liking) a bit too much in the highs and mids, but with the software, I can bring the perfect amount of bass back into the sounds and pull a little from the highs to get a great crisp sound. Also the built in SoundID Personolization is very good and can get you a great sound signature for an automated process. I use these headphones for gaming, streaming, music, TH-cam, movies, etc... kind of everything and they sound very nice all throughout. The most you might have to do is if you listen to metal and rap like I do, I find I need to go in a adjust the EQ quickly to make the most out of the headset sound. (since you can create custom profiles it isn't much of an issue once you do it once since you just have to click on one of them). Ultimately I got these on sale for about $45 and I can't complain much at all. Considering the price these were a steal and honestly, I'd love to buy them again if the headband was just a bit better and I could trust that it wouldn't break again in the future. Now with that being said I'm thinking about getting the HS80 USB which would seem to mitigate that gripe for the headset and I think that will be the best affordable headset on the market in my opinion. Hope anyone reading this found something useful I 100% recommend these if you are certain your head isn't much larger than the average person's.
I really like the head strap and cups on the HS80, and the mic audio was honestly incredible... but I worry USB-only will limit their usage a bit. Is it possible to use them with a phone via an OTG adapter in a pinch?
These headsets are impressive, however I did find a flaw in them. If you turn up the volume on them your online friends can hear their own voices echo back. I had to turn the volume down more than 50% to prevent my squad mates from hearing there own voices. This happens on PC and console. You don’t get this problem with the EPOS H6PRO. That’s why it’s still my fav. Corsair almost had a new champ here. Almost.
True surround sound must have 2 drivers in each ear, (front and back) and most have four connections for the front, rear and left and right drivers. If there are 2 drivers one left and one right all you can do is tell if the sound is higher in the left or right ear.
This was a problem on my Corsair virtuoso XTs. Moving the wireless adapter to a place where it has line-of-sight is the only way I get consistent connection.
@@The_Rock_That_Floats Yeah. When I first got it back in December, sound would sometimes cut out for like half a second which was annoying. But I've been using it recently and haven't had any cutting out. Maybe the updates fixed it.
That's why I love warrantys. It's usually only around 20% of the cost of the product to renew a warranty after turning the old one in. On most warrantys anyways.
I picked up the HS65's on sale for $39.99. Wasnt expecting too much. Just wanted an inexpensive over the ear headset for the office. But I was really impressed with the sound quality and comfort. I hate to admit it, but I liked them more than my Epos PC38x gaming headset that cost 2-3x as much.
@André Pipo the epos are very nice, very crisp and clear. I think so-called "audiophiles" love them lol. But the HS65's just have a more bassy cinematic sound profile that I enjoy more for gaming, while still providing good spatial awareness.
Sigh. Why is it so hard to buy proper tech? This review had me convinced I should get the HS80. I do a quick Google anyway, and end up with a bunch of posts saying the headset completely sucks. Now I don't know what to do anymore.
@@leothunders9366 sorry i should have been more specific, the cable they used for the wired headset is REALLY bad, the material is a low quality plastic that almost feels like rubber and over time it will literally break and expose the internals, it's not good for longevity, i owned one and had to wrap the entire cable with electrical tape to make it last.
I've been looking for a new headset and the seamlessness of that transition to the hs80 mic pretty much sold me on the spot Even the hs65 is pretty good but it's not a lot of money to spend for less background noise
my problem with these Corsair headsets is the faux leather it comes on the foam. i bought an HS70(i don't remember specifically) wireless and it didn't even take a year before the "leather" to start deteriorating.
The HS80 isn't that leatherette (as it's called) but yeah EVERY product I've ever had that uses that stuff it barely lasts a year before peeling off, I avoid any products that use that crap.
Hopefully these headsets don't suffer from the massive quiet microphone issue the HS80 wireless had. There is a 10 page forum post on this issue on the Corsair forums regarding this issue.
@@jcap8391 Corsair responded to the forum thread I referred to earlier and they said they deployed new firmware. I went out and bought the HS80 again and the mic issue is fixed or at least fixed for my unit.
@@Drewsterman777 I have their darkcore rgb mouse and I've never had problems with them but I've been reading more reviews I'm just going to pay more for a reference headphone. Thanks for the information though.✌️
This review got me to buy the HS80 and they were indeed really outstanding in terms of mic quality , sound clarity and overall design. I chose however to return them after a month and I am writing a long post to explain why : - Dmitry was not kidding when he talked about the range - it is very poor, I can not leave my room without my mates on discord complaining that sound was cutting or my music/podcast interrupting. From what I gather as soon as there is a thin wall between you and the reciever you can still hear your media playing however the mic starts cutting. Take one or two extra steps and then the sound cuts also. I understand that high fidelity wireless sound comes at the cost of range however I do not see the point of having a wireless headset that can only be used in the same room as the reciever especially since you'll be plugged in once per day to charge it anyways. Probably this is only useful when you want to game from your couch on your PS5, however go grab yourself a beer in the kitchen and you'll have to tell your mates "yo I'm grabbing a beer, I won't hear you because of the shit range on my wireless headset, brb" - The "Mic off, Microphone Feedback off" continues to be irritating even after a month ( I just wanted to point out this issue does not go away and it is actually bothersome especially because the voice message covers any sound that might be playing ) - The battery life is less than the 20 hours that were advertised. In a full work from home + gaming at night day I would have to recharge it about every 8 hours (even though the RGB component on the sides as well as the mic light was turned off) - Dolby Atmos did not fit my needs even when I tried multiple custom EQ settings. The only game where Dolby Atmos's Surround feature shined (for me) was Red Dead Redemption 2 However in competitive FPS (Apex, Warzone etc.) the 3D Surround was underwhelming at best in my subjective experience. Dolby Atmos in general makes everything sound quieter and I would have to up the gain of my sound in order to actually hear stuff in movies and games - I've had the "quiet microphone" issue which seem to affect a very reduced set of users where the microphone's gain was set to -6db so no one can hear me in discord or Slack calls. This issue has been fixed however for me in the latest ICuE patch and a temporary fix was using EqualizerAPO to manually set the mic gain This headset has good things going for it and some of my opinions around dolby atmos are subjective - what doesn't work for me might work for you. If low wireless range does not bother you this headset is incredible. I've decided however to return the headset and keep an Arctis 7 which : - At least allows me to have the wireless range in all my appartment - Sound clarity and microphone quality of Arctis 7 is miles below that of the HS80. However using and tweaking Steelseries's Sonar I managed to close the gap using their pretty decent EQs for sound and mic ( thank you for taking the time to read 🙏)
Thank you for this very detailed review, now I have a better image about this product. Low range is no issue for me, mic quality is nice to have but nothing I would require or decide my purchase on (if it's at least decent enough). My concern is its weight, and battery life of course
@@manexy Felt like I should point this out. In the video he's reviewing the wired HS80 version at 8:10 and mentions the wired one having better vocal clarity, warmth, and doesn't sound tinn'y. So the issues you faced the wired one wouldn't have that.
What the fuck, I clicked on microphone test and thought (before reading info on the screen) that you're still using your regular microphone. HS80 and HS65 really do sound unlike any headphone mic I have heard before. I'm don't really have a need for a new headset right now but I would buy HS80 in a heartbeat
I had to return it because it does not fit large heads well. My hat size is 8 3/8 and this headset was way too small, even after removing the elastic band. It kept sliding up and falling off my head, it's a shame because the mic is so good. The elastic design is so counter-intuitive. You are trying to push the headset down so it fits your head... and then they add an elastic band that is pushing the headset UP away from your head.
Loved my HS80 Wireless but sadly they're too small for my head, still really comfy though, it just gives me super headphone hair due to how snug it has to be against my head. 10/10 would recommend the HS80 Wireless/USB as long as it fits your head. Considering the HS65 as it looks like it doesn't have the headband problem.
Btw, it's not sound "compression" (that is reduced bandwidth, for instance horrible bluetooth mics codecs that compress so much you can barely understand ppl) but noise cancellation and/or just that some mics are more directional than others.
I have used the HS80 for 3 months. Its sound quality is not as good as everyone says. It lacks bass and bass diving. It's good to listen to music, but it can't be used to watch movies or play drama-immersive games. If you encounter a particularly rich bass scene, you will even break the sound.
I think I just found my next set of headphones to replace my Logitech G930s. I don't want wireless headphones because of constant disconnects on the G930s. They were great when I got them, loved being able to positionally place enemies that were behind me in Fallout 4 and Metro. Playing using just stereo speakers has been a big step backward. I'll get either the HS65 Surround or the HS80 because of the microphone. I'll have to weigh the other benefits/costs between the two.
Great video Dimitri but onboard audio has come along way, and shouldn't be disregarded or assumed it's going to be bad on modern motherboards. Might be an interesting topic for a future video. Thanks man.
Either you forgot to edit the correct audio or you were listening to the recording through your laptop speakers. There is a MASSIVE difference in the mics. It’s not slight in the least.

How good is the HS80 at blocking out background noise? I usually game in a living room where people walk around and was curious how well the microphone doesn't pick any of that up.
@DEEJ these headphones are not intended for busy environments, so the microphone picks up everything around you. I had a problem with the size of the headphones and they did not suit me at all due to the comfort of the ear pads. ear pads are very small and the material is not pleasant at all. I recommend 100% leather ear pads. If you are looking for gaming headphones buy something from hyperx and don't look at the reviews because they will probably tell you that they have bad sound. If you want something of quality, buy something from audio technica. But if you are looking for headphones purely for gaming without dealing with software and settings, buy the hyperx or shennheiser which are praised rightfully. But cheap all-in-one headsets are hyperx for me mainly because of the comfort. I wouldn't bother with the microphone at all because it will be at the same level everywhere and HyperX doesn't have an extra good one but it's enough to chat with friends on discord without sounding like a robot. If you want a good headset with a microphone, I know of only one audio technica that is comfortable leather gaming headsets in the more expensive category. Don't rely too much on the reviews. HyperX has deserved popularity.
YOU NEED TO SCREAM INTO THOSE MICS. That is a proper test. My Elgato Wave 3 has CLIP GUARD and nothing can beat that for now. When I stream, I am loud sometimes, and my viewers don't suffer xD (for a headphone mics, it is impressive how good it sounds)

Opened a ticket on corsair site, without a solution. Anyone noticed this too?
Hi Dmitry, I love your headphone reviews. How do you rate the VIRTUOSO RGB WIRELESS XT? I'm looking at a higher-end set and thinking of cutting some wires. I got my hands on one to feel at a local store and like that there's almost no plastic--the band is metal so no chance of breaking from constant putting on and off. I hate to say it, but my Sennheiser (now epos) gsp 600's are mostly plastic, which has cracked and the ear-cups have disintegrated . . . again after less than a year after replacing the originals. I love how they sound and feel, but the quality issues are really pissing me off. I need good sound when editing videos and doing audio, but also for gaming, so if the Virtuoso's are good, I'm down to try them. Unless you think they'll be upgraded/revised soon. I can wait some. Thanks and great vid as always!!!

Just picked up the HS80 during an absurd sale on Amazon for $60. What an incredible headset. The mic is truly broadcast quality and the virtual surround is very detailed and far more accurate than other headsets I've used. The HS80 punches WAY above its MSRP price point--if you're on the fence, I'd pull the trigger without a second thought.
hell no. the audio quality is horrendous. the main selling point for people on the hs80 is the mic quality, but if you care that much about how you sound, you should just buy a usb mic. not to mention the headband is not comfortable & barely makes a difference since there is almost no padding. the clamping force & earpads are solid tho. to even think they punch far above msrp is funny 🤣 notice how not once he talked about the audio quality. crap is all fake

I don't know, I feel like SteelSeries has already been winning this one for a while with their Arctis series.
@@mrPCbuilds. HyperX does make good headsets, don't get me wrong, I've recommended them to my friends a lot.
They can definitely improve on the mic quality tho who has very good background noise isolation but doesn't sound natural and full at all.
@AmpEdition Can yo make some recommendations then?
The only thing that breaks it for me is no detachable cable. No matter how good a cable is, something can happen and buying a whole new headset b/c of a cable is just pain. Also I find it odd that your mic test of the hs55 and hs65 are so different while other videos I've seen the mics seem identical. Wonder how that happens.
yout totally right I also saw other videos of the HS55 vs HS65 and they weren't that far of, yes the mic on the HS65 is better but not by that much. In the video it sounds like it wasn't recorded properly or it had gone threw some changes!

I think it was a sound card issue
there is hs55 stereo and hs55 surround.. in this video they where comparing stereo
wauw very impressed by how good the mic is on the HS65 and HS80, they by far sound the best imo.
250€ FOR corsar k1000 rgb stops working during gaming I have to unplug it
Imagine that during pvp gaming
Corsair support blames my pc so I got stuck with a broken keyboard
I just bought the hs80 thanks to this video. Can't complain, really helps me with locating footsteps in-game!!!
Did you try it in ps5
@@ahmedzain6362I’ve a ps5 too and I want to get this headset but I want to be sure it works well on Ps5
wow i didn't even notice you were testing the mics until the hs55. that's amazing how good they sound
I was excited about the HS65 Surround... And then I noticed it was open back. I like headsets that block out background noise. The open back headsets tend to let too much outside noise in. With a closed back headset you can play games while there's someone else in the room watching TV, etc. With the open back you usually can't do that because, not only will you hear the TV, but sometimes the other person will even hear your audio coming through the back of your headset.
they're not open back
They arent open back. The grill is just decorative.
Whaaaaaat. Where
A good directional microphone can sound fine.
Do u suggest getting the hs65 or is the mh752 better overall, theyre both priced at 79 euros now
The only complaint I have about the HS80s is that the earcup fabric Will inevitably start to pull away off of the ear cups, so just be aware of that. They will most likely need repaired or replaced because of it. Aside from that, literally the best $100 range headset I've ever owned, with the best mic by far, and I've gladly bought two so far. And will probably buy more over time.
I imagine the pleather earcups is gonna peel in tiny pieces making a mess, and be a nuisance, and pleather could make your ears sweat
The microphones are outstanding, I didn't even realize it was HS80's mic, also HS65's mic is very impressive.
I really apreciate you puting the prices of them straight away
The mic on that hs80 is almost as good as your normal recording mic. That's amazing. Easily the best headset mic I've heard.
Sheeesh I might get the HS80 just because of the comfort and mic quality! Corsair also put it at a great price.
Looks great overall but I would maybe suggest 2 things.
1. Make it into a detachable cable incase there would be a problem with the cable in the future
I'm running a Philips Fidelio X2HR with a V-MODA Boom Pro, modular is the way to go
If you don't mind me asking, how's the mic quality on the v-moda boom pro? And do you know if it's compatible with the Audio Technica M50x?
@@EnlighterMinh Hard for me to say without a pair here next to me, but as long as the Audio Technica detachable cable is a standard 3.5mm audio, then it should work. As for sound quality, it's better than pretty much any headset mic I've heard, but that's a low bar. They actually have a video on the Boom Pro here at Hardware Canucks and that's worth checking out for some audio samples
EDIT: Looks like the m50x uses 2.5mm and a weird locking mechanism? There's people out there who use them with a Boom Pro but with an adapter. Check Reddit
When considering the HS65, be aware that the headband is prone to cracking in the middle. I only had mine for three months before it cracked, and now, a year later, it's completely broken in two and held together with duct tape.
I'm thinking about upgrading to the HS80, but I’ve heard from others that it can feel tight for those with slightly larger heads. I hope the HS80 has more durable plastics and doesn’t experience the same issues.
Just got the HS80 USB and love it. Really so comfortable.
Way more comfortable than the Razer Blackshark V2 better sound, way better mic
How comfortable to the head it is?
Am worried about comfort
Plus am looking to the H65 to my budget coz am ordering it internationally

Their microphones should sound great since they bought elgato the company that was literally made for streaming, but other companies should keep up
I really like the head strap and cups on the HS80, and the mic audio was honestly incredible... but I worry USB-only will limit their usage a bit. Is it possible to use them with a phone via an OTG adapter in a pinch?
Super annoyed with the electronic screeching from the top left animation, but overall good video!!!
So, HS80 or H6 Pro? I don't care about the price of either, just wondering which is better (I feel like the HS80 has a better mic than the H6 Pro).
Almost.
Warning: The HS80 foam lining comes off by itself in many cases and is not replacable, shocking for such an expensive product
Mines stayed in fine 😉👍
WONDERFUL REVIEW DIMITRI ☺️ REALLY HELPED MY SECOND THOUGHTS WHEN THINKING ABOUT MY HEADSET FUTURE PURCHASES!🙌
I see you liked the paid advertisement... Maybe watch a review from someone who doesn't get paid to tell you how nice those headsets are.
i just ordered the hs65 and hope it fits my slightly larger head! the mic is amazing at this price point!
I'm thinking of buying it, do you recommend it?
@@Fuyyuu i returned it… it was too tight and i didn’t like the audio. I tested multiple others after and stuck to the blackshark v2 from razer
True surround sound must have 2 drivers in each ear, (front and back) and most have four connections for the front, rear and left and right drivers. If there are 2 drivers one left and one right all you can do is tell if the sound is higher in the left or right ear.
For that price the mic sound of the HS80 is amazing!
Dude, the HS80 and HS65 mics are beyond good, this is pretty much broadcast quality.
I have the HS80 - super comfortable and amazing mic, but SERIOUS problems with wireless audio disconnects
This was a problem on my Corsair virtuoso XTs. Moving the wireless adapter to a place where it has line-of-sight is the only way I get consistent connection.
This is why I buy wired headsets only I'm looking at the HS80 USB version to replace my current Void Pro USB version after this review.
Love my wireless HS80. Only complaint is that sound sometimes skips. It's a little annoying

Could be good, but I've owned around five or six corsair headsets over the years and all of them had issues with quality over time.
Why do you like them more than Epos PC38x?
@André Pipo the epos are very nice, very crisp and clear. I think so-called "audiophiles" love them lol. But the HS65's just have a more bassy cinematic sound profile that I enjoy more for gaming, while still providing good spatial awareness.
I wasn't fully convinced until I heard the mic quality, now I'm sold!
Sigh. Why is it so hard to buy proper tech? This review had me convinced I should get the HS80. I do a quick Google anyway, and end up with a bunch of posts saying the headset completely sucks. Now I don't know what to do anymore.
The wireless version is good, the wired one is ass.
@@Raindrop511 wireless has more probable latency? how is is better than wired?
@@leothunders9366 sorry i should have been more specific, the cable they used for the wired headset is REALLY bad, the material is a low quality plastic that almost feels like rubber and over time it will literally break and expose the internals, it's not good for longevity, i owned one and had to wrap the entire cable with electrical tape to make it last.
I've been looking for a new headset and the seamlessness of that transition to the hs80 mic pretty much sold me on the spot
Even the hs65 is pretty good but it's not a lot of money to spend for less background noise
Just got HS55 Surround for CAD$50 (about $38 USD) after watching your video. Thank you!
my problem with these Corsair headsets is the faux leather it comes on the foam. i bought an HS70(i don't remember specifically) wireless and it didn't even take a year before the "leather" to start deteriorating.
I just seen it on Amazon reviews. I was about to buy. Now I'm hesitant

This review got me to buy the HS80 and they were indeed really outstanding in terms of mic quality , sound clarity and overall design.
I chose however to return them after a month and I am writing a long post to explain why :
- Dmitry was not kidding when he talked about the range - it is very poor, I can not leave my room without my mates on discord complaining that sound was cutting or my music/podcast interrupting.
Probably this is only useful when you want to game from your couch on your PS5, however go grab yourself a beer in the kitchen and you'll have to tell your mates "yo I'm grabbing a beer, I won't hear you because of the shit range on my wireless headset, brb"
- The "Mic off, Microphone Feedback off" continues to be irritating even after a month ( I just wanted to point out this issue does not go away and it is actually bothersome especially because the voice message covers any sound that might be playing )
- The battery life is less than the 20 hours that were advertised. In a full work from home + gaming at night day I would have to recharge it about every 8 hours (even though the RGB component on the sides as well as the mic light was turned off)
- Dolby Atmos did not fit my needs even when I tried multiple custom EQ settings.
The only game where Dolby Atmos's Surround feature shined (for me) was Red Dead Redemption 2
However in competitive FPS (Apex, Warzone etc.) the 3D Surround was underwhelming at best in my subjective experience.
Dolby Atmos in general makes everything sound quieter and I would have to up the gain of my sound in order to actually hear stuff in movies and games
- I've had the "quiet microphone" issue which seem to affect a very reduced set of users where the microphone's gain was set to -6db so no one can hear me in discord or Slack calls. This issue has been fixed however for me in the latest ICuE patch and a temporary fix was using EqualizerAPO to manually set the mic gain
This headset has good things going for it and some of my opinions around dolby atmos are subjective - what doesn't work for me might work for you.
If low wireless range does not bother you this headset is incredible.
I've decided however to return the headset and keep an Arctis 7 which :
- At least allows me to have the wireless range in all my appartment
- Sound clarity and microphone quality of Arctis 7 is miles below that of the HS80. However using and tweaking Steelseries's Sonar I managed to close the gap using their pretty decent EQs for sound and mic
( thank you for taking the time to read 🙏)
Thank you for this very detailed review, now I have a better image about this product. Low range is no issue for me, mic quality is nice to have but nothing I would require or decide my purchase on (if it's at least decent enough). My concern is its weight, and battery life of course
@@manexy Felt like I should point this out. In the video he's reviewing the wired HS80 version at 8:10 and mentions the wired one having better vocal clarity, warmth, and doesn't sound tinn'y. So the issues you faced the wired one wouldn't have that.
@@tybost Thank you for pointing this out, unfortunately I am looking for wireless headphones
Damn, I almost didn't even notice you switched to the HS80 mic
The HS65 are slightly bigger for sure. But don’t have the same ear cushions unfortunately. Wish they were replaceable with the HS80 style.

Thanks man.

Which would you recommend? HS80 wired , Nova 3 or Logitech G435

Hey man, really loved your review on this!
I've been looking forward to upgrade my headset, Iam currently using the Corsair Hs60 pro.
Now Iam in a serious confusion between the
Razer blackshark V2 and the
Corsair hs65 wired.
My top most priority is sound/audio quality as I'll be mainly using it for media consumption tbh and yes also ocassional competitive gaming. Wanted to know that which one among these two can Overall give me the best experience and make me feel that the upgrade from my current headset is actually worth it
Really in a serious confusion at the moment, and your precious suggestion and response to this will really mean a lot to me man, eagerly looking forward to your response and thanks in advance!
Damn it's 90 euros for the HS65 in the Netherlands and 70 euros for the HS55, was looking for a decent option but this seems quite expensive compared to the american prices.
Cooler master MH650 or Corsair HS55. Which is better for gaming, movies, surround sound and music? Please reply.
Here in my country Corsair HS80 RGB USB is selling for 135$ & HyperX Cloud II Wired is selling for 90$. Which one to go for?
Wow. I had to go back to see if the mic audio was actually coming from the headset or your studio mic. 🤯
Yeah it’s pretty insane how good it sounds. Well done Corsair.
-D.
The HS80 legit sounds like a condensor mic :O
@@creative_bacon the headband and clamping force are very comfortable if you have a relatively normal sized head. I can’t speak for those with a watermelon sized head though lmfao. The sound quality is good compared to other similar priced headsets. I did mention sound btw, try rereading my comment big boy.
@@HCG dude said big boy wtf? 🤣🤣🤣
@@HCG just look at the headband its so damn thin.
when i said "notice how not once he talked about the audio quality" i was referring to the youtuber, u arent that important LOL. if anyone thinks the audio quality on these headphones r good its probably time to invest in some better headphones
@@creative_bacon Imagine being this ignorant lmao. Touch grass
In short, the hs65 headphones are the best out of the 3 in terms of quality/price and also won the mic test.
I'm choosing between HS80 and Epos H3 Closed. Which one should I get for the better audio gaming?
I think you should check out open back version of headphones because closed back become warm after 30 to 50 minutes of gameplay. go with HS80 wireless he said those are semi closed.
Why would they not make the HS80s come with a 3.5 cord too? So I can use it with my controller on consoles. At least give people the options.
Do i buy blackshark v2x, hs55 or hs65? I want to say the extra bucks if the difference between these 3 is minimal.
The hs80 n hs65 mic surprisingly sounds better than the eposmaker h6pro. Wow
