    When you show top product by region (22:13), that means the top products are different for each region since the top-set is defined dynamically. Do I understand this correctly?

    • @sqlbelle
      @sqlbelle  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! For the example I gave, it is the top 10 products universally, and how much of those top 10 make up the region profit. For this case, we are not looking at the "relative top 10" but the global top 10.
      It's like, if our top product was "Book", it's looking at how much "Book" accounts for the region profits (how much of Central's profit is book, how much of West's profit is book, etc).
      I hope I didn't confuse you.

    Thank you for the useful video! I have one question about groups: I have big list of serial numbers (lets say 900 serial numbers) which I want to divide in 3 groups. I have a list which serial number in which group should be included (each group should have 300 SNs). Can I insert somewhere this list and say "This list of 300 SNs should be group 1", instead of clicking one by one and selecting every single serial number. Contains, Starts with and Exact match won't work, because there is no specific logic which serial number is which group should be. I just want to insert the list of 300 serial numbers and say this list is group 1, then insert the list of the other 300 SNs and say this is group 2 and the same for group 3..? Can I easily do that? Thank you :))

    • @sqlbelle
      @sqlbelle  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! Hmm that's interesting use case. What I would probably suggest is using a different data source. I gave this a try and it seems to work ok.
      I added a whole bunch of product names into an Excel file (pretending that's group 1), and copied/pasted to Tableau. It will be in a clipboard data source.
      From here you can drag your original serial number and your serial number from the clipboard. You can sort based on blank serial numbers from clipboard (which means they are not in group 1), or shift-select the ones with valid corresponding values and group.
      Not sure if it will work for your case but might be worth a try.

    Great work!
    But just a quick question: sets are dynamic.
    So when you drop region into the rows shelf, does region affect the top 10 products set?
    That is, is it now a top 10 products per region or still the same top 10 for all regions combined?
