- Sometimes, Agent 47 takes just a little bit too much joy in his job, pulling off kills that are gruesome, involve elaborate costumes, or are simply designed to maximise his target’s terror, like a much more stylish Jason Voorhees. One of the best is being dressed a Janus at his funeral and having the fish melee weapon on your character while is the casket. One of the guests states "why does he smell like fish..." I was laughing for a week on that one liner. The writers thought of everything.
There is even the achievement for that, titled "Fin"

Awww, you didn't include the on the Hokkaido level where you sabatoge the AI managing Soders' operation into stabbing him numerous times all over his body while the AI desperately apologizes for the gruesome error
Looks like I wasn’t the first to think of this one lol. Out of all the games I’ve played (esp. Hitman), and all the different ways I’ve seen characters killed, this is one of the most unsettling to me.
I think Mike did that one in one of the 3 ways to play episodes
Pretty much all of the ways that you can kills Soders are horrifying, especially because he cannot run, and that leaves him completely at your mercy (or lack thereof) for the entire mission.
Hell, one way you can kill him is by literally just getting into his sight in your suit. He literally dies from shock when he recognizes you.

3:50 aww you missed the best bit of that kill. For MAXIMUM "horror movie" - you can actually turn ON the fan next to the rocking chair before he comes in, which will make the rocking chair move (due to the wind from the fan) - but an already stressed out Caruso will see the moving chair and think it's the spirit of his mother which will be too much for him causing him to faint.

I need to try this one for him. Sapienza is one of my least favorite levels, but I'll give this one a try.
@@SolaScientia Sapienza is actually one of my favs but I get why some people don't like it. The virus takes a massive detour and can feel like a drag.
@@Ruben-to9yk My issue isn't the mission itself exactly. It's that the targets themselves are pretty easy to take care of, but the virus is a major aggravation if you don't know to get the laptop dongle off the woman who goes to visit the corpse in the mortuary by the church. I didn't know that the first time. The two target kills were nice and clean, but destroying the virus screwed me majorly. Ended up with 3 non-target kills (two were entirely accidental since I didn't realize the box I put them in had some sort of toxic chemical in it. Whoops. One was definitely on purpose via a screwdriver because I was fully panicking by that point and just wanted to exit the mission) and got seen by everyone in that lab. I've gotten the 5 star SA rating for it since then (on Professional, not Master yet), but only because I knew about the laptop security dongle to remotely destroy the virus.
So even with the good result I have a lot of resentment for that level. By contrast, Colorado is one of my favorite missions. Chongqing can do one though; I hate that one the most.
Don't forget about Erich Soders, whom you can kill by:
a) Siphoning out all of his blood
b) Having the syringe robot stab him dozens of times
c) Pumping poisonous stem cells into his spinal column
d) Revealing your identity and giving him a heart attack

The Steam Room kill is actually a callback to a level from the original Hitman: Codename 47 (and later Contracts) that sees 47 do the same thing. And the reason he stays at the door is to hold it closed since there *shouldn’t* be a way to lock it from outside for exactly that reason.

Burning Zoe alive on the Isle of Sgail mission is definitely a rough one.
Also there's the wonderful Final Destination energy of pushing Robert Knox onto the racetrack right in front of Sierra's car, causing her to crash and die as well.
I was just about to comment on the "knock Robert Knox unconscious and drop him onto his daughters speeding racecar" kill.
If you're going for Miami - have Robert Knox push the detonator on the bomb on his daughter's car. That's just about Joker-level cruel.
In an older game. I honestly forget which one. 47 sets someone on fire and she jumps in an aquarium where a shark kills her
@@DanStaal I did that one without fully realizing what it would do. His reaction afterwards... The dude just accidentally murdered his own daughter. There's some questionable kills in hitman, but that one felt absolutely awful. Making a guy unknowingly kill his daughter, then freak out when he realized what he did, was one of those moments where I just stopped and went "am I the baddie?"

Don´t forget the about two seconds of pants shitting horror that certain targets go through when they suddenly see a rubber duck fall at their feet right before Mike blows them up.
I prefer throwing explosives at someone's head to knock them unconscious right before they die

A lot of “accident” kills have a “Final Destination” feeling to them. My personal favorite comes from Absolution (I know, but stay with me) when you spike an experimental baldness cure with chemicals, causing a scientist to set his own head on fire before falling off a balcony. In fact most of the unique kills from that level were pretty horrifying

Absolution also lets you beat the shit out of a Mexican giant in front of an audience.

Honorable mention: Shooting down Yuki Yamazaki's cable car causing it to plummet to her doom, she's absolutely terrified in the entire cut scene

@@anna-flora999 No cutscene, but you can watch the cable car go out of control for a good 15 seconds, Yuki screaming for her life the whole way, before it plummets to the earth.
Another good one: the fugu. Tetradotoxin causes muscle paralysis, including the diaphragm (aka the thing that moves your lungs). Completely paralyzed, unable to move or call for help as you suffocate in a room full of people who wont realize what's wrong in time to save you
@@caffienatedtactician a death that can ALSO come off as an accident if the target ate the tainted Fugu. (Pose as a chef, prepare the order for the target, taint the thing with a poison or strike the toxin sack and finish preparing the Fugu, now let the wait staff serve it, change into either new disguise or your suit after you finish the Fugu because they're gonna realize what happened just quite a bit too late.)
@@boxtank5288 oh yeah, then there's the extra horror of the chef trying to figure out how someone got served fugu, and then all his coworkers most likely blaming him for the death. Nightmarish!
"You seem remarkably ok with this Diana." This is not the first time she has witnessed agent 47 rise from a coffin and ruin a perfectly good funeral, really it is par for the course at this point.

Sauna kill, and classic hitman suit visit are my favorite mixture. It seems as if all the contracts are making 47 lose his sanity.
The funeral kill is easily one of the most satisfying in the trilogy, especially since she's talking smack about Janus right before stabbing her.
I dunno, the one where you burn the same woman alive after secretly sabotaging her magic trick is pretty satisfying.

Technically, 47 *does* bring people closer to God.
Robert Knox detonating the bomb on Sierra’s car is one I always found brutal. It’s not visually visceral, but the thought of having the father (unwillingly) kill their own child is gruesomely cruel.
Thats one of the only kills i felt bad for, but its one of the perfect accident kills in the game. Robert kills his own daughter and jumps to his suicide. A perfect cover
I can't figure out how to give the detonator to Robert.
I try dropping it in the hallways but, the game won't let me.

The challenge for doing that mission opportunity is Blood Money since 47 does kill the target from the coffin.

A personal favorite of mine is in Dubai, where you forcefully cause an evacuate for the targets, take out the helicopter pilot so they have to fall back on their second escape plan to freefall off the building, and then sabotage their parachutes to send them plummeting 50+ stories to their doom. Of course, this kill goes around to being hilarious if you place comedic banana peels at the dropoff spots so they slip off and die instead.
You actually don't need to take out the chopper pilot for that to work. I wish it worked that way though. Seems odd that he'd only be prepared to evac on the day there's a scheduled drill.

despite the few times diana becomes a bit questionable (even if she's always good in the end), she has moments where she's outright written as an almost "motherly" figure, and it's always wholesome to see.
If the motherly feeling wasn't there, but more like a "playing" feeling, protests would be happening to ship em

Diana is 47's "handler" and helps him through all his missions. Since 47 is unable to feel much emotion, while they are friends, he would never marry her. Let alone have feelings for her.
Watch Hitman 4 make them fall for each other. I know it. I'm always wrong.
Almost all of the Soder's surgery kills were incredibly brutal
We are talking spooky not brutal. Hitman 3 wine press kill is also brutal
Yeah, but I think those kills deserved a mention over others, like the church spire kill. Scifi horror vs supernatural horror, I guess
I think the worst one is the stem cell poison the detail io put in that kill, from the foam coming from his mouth to the veins almost pushing out of his skin

Surprised you didn't include the one where you trigger Sean Rose's OCD, stressing him out until he needs to take a smoke break before lacing his cigarettes with drugs so he has a horrible drug trip and then gets drowned in a basin. You could have also included the one where you terrorize Alma Reynard so much that she runs into the ocean to escape from you and drowns.

It's more understated than the other horror ways to kill Soders, but getting to him in the suit is my favorite horror way to kill him. All 47 has to do is let recognition set in and Soders is dead of fright.

I'm surprised you didn't include the wicker man easter egg. By shooting bells in Colorado while dressed as a scarecrow, 47 can make anyone he goes near burst into flames magically. It is the only way to do the eliminate everyone challenge in that level as one npc is unreachable.
I personally like donning the Plague Doctor outfit and a ritual knife in Sapienza, before going full horror movie. Bonus points for keeping the circumcision knife for emergency ranged kills, and walking the entire level.
Living Statue for the win
Another spooky one from Hokkaido, if you go into the level with an actual suit, and make your to Erich Soders, you can appear at the foot of the operating table. 47 showing up scares Soders so much that he dies on the spot from freight.
Not really an official sort of kill, but setting literally everyone (even the Hereld in the basement) on fire by walking around as the scarecrow on Colorado is very Horror movie.
That takes a LOT of work with the bells though.

Or another one where you arrange for Ken Morgan to meet someone in the basement of the hotel but instead he meets 47 with a fire axe.

It's always satisfying to me when the target sees me holding the sniper and right as they begin to panic I shoot
Speaking of the Bangkok level, making Jordan Cross hear the recording of him murdering his girlfriend and then he begs for his life before you shoot him is incredibly dark.

I mean if he an help it, he'll kill not just his target but their business associates, the waiter, a random guest that walked by, the pizza guy, a real life serial killer at the party, an entire terrorist group that somehow was invited, just as much people as possible

No, I'm pretty sure Mike kills are out of a Michael Bay movie.
You forgot Situs Inversus, Killing Soders by sabotaging the mainframe and stabbing him multiple times whilst on the operating table whilst he is conscious.
Or getting the machine to drain all the blood out of his body.
Or just walking up to the guy in 47's iconic suit and giving him a heart attack when he sees you.
And I even brought him flowers and a get well card.
Best place to start for that kill is in the morgue as one of the cadavers downstairs from the operating theater Soders is in.
I also have to give kudos to the kill method where you drug the guy whose supposed to be operating on Soders and help him find out Soders killed his dad and the guy throws his hippocratic oath out the window.

Are we only talking about the kills from the most recent Hitman games? Otherwise, the two missions from Blood Money where you can set someone on fire while dressed as a clown, and the one where you can set someone on fire and then she gets eaten by a shark in front of hundreds of cheering spectators seem like they belong.

@@DavidPashley I think so but most of the ones shown had scripted deaths, different animations or whatever. Actually thinking back it could have easily been included. I guess Andy wanted to save us the trauma!

Actually on the Beyond the Grave story, you can let him be fully panicked and pass out... I usually go on a grimmer way to kill him by taking his unconscious body into the shredder near his mother grave just to add more horror into it (it's a challenge to do this with SA rank, but I've done it).
The only thing that would've made it better and more freaky is if he actually died from a heart attack. Literally scared to death.
(Granted, wouldn't make much sense since Caruso's physically fit for the most part)

I think the one where the target lady is burned alive in a huge doomsday ephigy is worst.
The "47 kills an evil scientist with his mind" opportunity from Chongqing is worth a mention. Also driving a woman to suicide in Dartmoor, or shoving her into a grave and burying her alive before her own fake funeral
Jane's Hitman:Patient Zero where she has to gruesomely hunt down almost everyone in the level. Also Jane's deathtrap poison room in which several NPCs are lured into a room trying to help one of the many NPCs already dying in the room. Either one of those would get my vote. ;)

You know what would've added another hint of horror movie magic in this assassination ? If yuki somehow locks herself (her dead body in this context) in the steaming hot room as she falls down and then you can't even enter the sauna after that kill

I love the details in the game, playing in the santa 47 costume, people will react and talk to you, like "hey can I sit on your lap" and "Mr Claus, your sleigh is ready"

Honestly, the race car double cross is pretty brutal. The guy you killed with the eyedrops wants another driver dead. You can push him off the roof and hit his daughter's car, killing them, or pose as his saboteur, rig his daughter's car with a bomb, and watch in delight as he falls to his knees after he watches his daughter die when he flicks the switch.
THEN push him off the roof.
I agree with most of this list, though I personally found drilling Soders with the malfunctioning medical equipment a bit more horrifying than the sauna kill. But both are gruesome in their own right

The scary part about some of these kills is that victims would not die so fast, especially in iron maiden and steam room, and I have a hunch that church spike would not provide such a swift death either.
That Janus robes kill will go down in history as one of the best Hitman kills.

The one that really make me wonder if Agent 47 is doing okay, is getting Robert Knox to blow up Sierra's car. Making a parent kill their child is next level unhinged. At that point killing Robert is a mercy so he doesn't have to live with the guilt
I had forgotten about that! Honestly though, 47 can be fucked up when he wants to be. The one I first thought of in that level was pushing Robert onto her car, killing both.

I guess any time that you play one of those games, the character gets as creepy as you are, in batman arkham asylum you can take the enemies stealthy, but leave them out for others to see, the other baddies get really freaked out when they see that they are the last one and they can be taken down at any moment, some times they even shoot blindly at dark spots, in manhunt you can carry a head of an enemy and throw it so others can hear it and see it, in manhunt 2 you can execute an enemy on a spot in that others can see you, oddly enough they just let you kill their friend while they puke, you get discovered but its worth it.
These are personally some of my favorite kills for those levels (except for the Patient Zero one as I haven't gotten around to playing it yet) and a few are my go-to kills for a particular level (i.e. Yuki Yamazaki in the sauna).
Thank you all for this. This especially helped a lot whenever I attempted to do the Iron Maiden kill which is a favorite kill to do whenever I play as 47

Sad to see nothing from the older games - although not a horror kill exactly, in the Hitman: Contracts level "The Meat King's Party", you can optionally kill Malcolm Sturrock, a man who killed the contractor's daughter, in a room full of blood and air fresheners, which is just _one part_ of a level that looks like a deleted scene from Se7en

Here's an honorable mention: Jordan Cross.
In Club 27, one of the mission stories involves disguising yourself as a cook, and delivering a cake topper to Jordan's surprise party.
For a bit of context, Jordan has a strained relationship with his father, Thomas Cross. Despite this, Thomas still had the kitchen staff of the Hotel bake a special cake for his son's birthday.
When you bring the cake topper, you can poison the cake to kill Jordan. When he eats the poisoned cake and starts to die, his last words and thoughts are about his dad, believing his own father wanted to kill him.
Ohhh, finally, we get to see what happens with the funeral disguise if the game doesn't glitch out! Hehe. Remember that, Andy? Remember? Remember how your game glitched?

Agent 47 actually mentally toys his targets before killing them he could just shoot them but no he'll make them think their dead mother has returned or sometimes he'll get other people to kill them

What about Erich Soders? You got a couple horror movie ways to take him out. You got walking up to his table to say hi and giving him a heart attack, you can access the surgical unit and drain out all his blood, you can access another surgical unit with poison stem cells and fill him to the brim with the stuff, Or my personal favorite, corrupt the hospital AI to ruthlessly stab Soders to death on the operating table.
Can't forget about another murder on Caruso: Playing his childhood memories in front of him before killing him as a plague doctor with one of the knives nearby.

Either the gruesome death as a result of sabotaging the surgery robot or the intense psychological fear of seeing Agent 47 in his classic suit give him a heart attack.
How about just destroying his donor heart? What are they going to do? Wake him up to tell "sorry, but your heart-to-be was destroyed in mysterious circumstances" or just keep him in coma until his heart fails? If he is woken up he knows who was there, but it can't be proven.

You know what would've added another hint of horror movie magic in this assassination If yuki after suffocating from the steam, locks herself in the steaming hot room as her lifeless body falls down (maybe add like a giant wooden plank lock inside the steam room to foreshadow this moment or something) and then you can't even enter the sauna after that kill and then the room fogs up the door and the mirror due to the outright amount of steam in there. As an added bonus, if you leave the steam long enough, the room will burst and explode, sending the whole hospital into a confused panic while they check for the source of the explosion
