    In the US, we still don’t have many chargers compatible with electric semis. It’s great to see what other countries are doing to support the transition. Here, charging options for electric semis are mostly limited to depots, making the infrastructure much more restricted in comparison.

    • @NicMediaDesign
      @NicMediaDesign 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      What do you mean "not compatible with semis"? He uses the same type of charger cars use.

    • @karlorf2023
      @karlorf2023 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes such big states with high anmounts of sun and wind must subsidise charges at every logistic spot Where drivers could charges when loading and waiting for loading. Companies producing electricity must subsides charges too it will alow them to sell much more energy.

    • @Warrior6350
      @Warrior6350 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Which chargers do semis in the US use. I know cars there either use CSS1 or NACS.
      In Europe every car now uses CCS2 and the trucks also use CCS2 at the moment.

    • @JanNovak-pg8oe
      @JanNovak-pg8oe 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Warrior6350I do not know about any vendor that would make EV Trucks in the US. I mean there is Tesla Semi, but that is still not in production. So they can only import vehicles from EU and those would have CCS1, analogically to the EU cars being made with CCS1 for US market. I guess there is no demand for that right now.
      I have seen several car youtubers complain about non-tesla chargers relaibility, also Supercharger network is just superior there - both in number of chargers per location and number of sites.
      However, there are several options for CSS1->Tesla Supercharger (NACS) adapters avaiable now. So it should not be an issue.

    Hilly areas is where electric shines compared to diesel! They can actually recoup the energy used to climb, while with diesel, you must convert it to heat (whether in brakes or in the motor cylinders, doesn't matter). Can't see why someone would consider it bad for electrics.

Maybe one suggestion from my side: I think the German videos are so successful because of your very charming, humorous and positive vibes that are transported through your euphoric voice. The dubbed version sounds sometimes a bit “boring” and “dry”. Maybe you could try to bring more of your giggles and your positive vibes into the translated version.

    That is a great map, I cant wait to see it populate over time.
    11:41 tuck the tails under the edge and you have a protector and you deal with the tails at the same time.
    1 vs 2 stops is great, as the more full the battery is the longer it takes to increase %, then when you are lower it is more about how long it takes you to get off the road like a pit stop, going down pit lane.
    Above 80 km/h the drag from air increase is noticeable...
    Note that the power needed to push an object through a fluid increases as the cube of the velocity. A car cruising on a highway at 50 mph (80 km/h) may require only 10 horsepower (7.5 kW) to overcome air drag, but that same car at 100 mph (160 km/h) requires 80 hp (60 kW). With a doubling of speed the drag (force) quadruples per the formula. Exerting four times the force over a fixed distance produces four times as much work. At twice the speed the work (resulting in displacement over a fixed distance) is done twice as fast. Since power is the rate of doing work, four times the work done in half the time requires eight times the power.

    • @G0bus
      @G0bus 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      But you need a Swap Battery wherever you are when the battery runs low. Do you think that’s more realistic than using your driving break for recharging?
      For me, putting a cable anywhere you ought to recharge the truck seams to be a much easier job than putting spare batteries there.
      In the context of regular route freight transport, it could be a whole different ball game.
      For on-demand freight transport, as is common on long-haul routes, flexibility is essential.
      The way Tobias is doing is more likely to be how everybody will be doing this in the future except for that every delivery point will be equipped with chargers to reload while the trailer is being unloaded.

    • @JunitafluxcyfatriciaJunita
      @JunitafluxcyfatriciaJunita 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@G0bus Like you misunderstood what I meant.Has a battery that can be swapped It doesn't mean the truck can't be charged.So you can still charge it like a regular electric car.
      But if there is a battery swap station near the shipping route.Surely the drivers will use it because no matter how much battery power is needed, the time to change is only 5 minutes.
      Charging a 300-500 kwh battery Truck with a 500kwh fast charger can take 2 hours . Moreover, the capacity of the battery will be higher and the charging process will also be longer.
      Not to mention that fast chargers make the battery degrade faster.
      It is better to charge at a station with a slower speed.In order to extend battery life .
