He didn't really change his name, it's just another alias that he uses sin cr 2016 for his solo mixtapes/albums. As a kpop idol it comes with a certain type of reputation but he wanted to vent some stuff off his chest and talk some smack so he came up with AgustD which is Suga DT backwards. DT is Daegu Town, his hometown.

70 year old BTS Army here. Yes, this is Suga/Agust D of BTS. (Pronounced like August.) Haegum means the lifting of a ban, or liberation. This is the second song of his Trilogy. Meant to be watched in this order:
1.Daechwita
2.Haegum
3.Amygdala
I suggest you go back and watch Daechwita and it's important to watch an online explanation afterwards. He just released a solo album called D-Day and is finishing up his sold out world tour.

@@boywonderreacts yes, he's one of the main producers for BTS, while RM is one of the main songwriters for BTS. They both also write/produce solo songs for the other members. For example, RM wrote Singularity for their vocalist V, it's a great neo-soul song. And Suga produced Stay Alive for their vocalist Jungkook, very cinematic sounding song.

I'm not sure how much you know about Min YoonGi aka Suga/AugstD....but as you liked his MV then the following info might be of interest to you.
Suga/Agust D began writing music lyrics and working with MIDI at age 11 and held a part-time job composing and arranging music at a recording studio at age 16.
Active under the name "Gloss" (wordplay on his name YoonGi, which means "to shine") as an underground rapper, He originally entered Big Hit Entertainment as a producer at age 17 and became the second member to join BTS..... At BTS debut in 2013 he was 20 y.o.... he is one of BTSs main producers/songwriters/composers and has over 150 song copyrights.... he also produces for other artists and has won awards for his work.
Between his commitments as a member of BTS, Suga/Agust D took advantage of time on the plane and in hotel rooms after concerts to continuously produce and compose music.
In an interview for Grazia Korea, Suga/Agust D expressed a desire to release the music he wanted to do without having to consider popular appeal or music ranking. He intended to release his music for free in the form of a mixtape to avoid such considerations, commenting that an album "has a feeling of being trapped in some sort of framework" due to the need for company involvement in promotion and advertising. He has released 2 mixtapes - this is his first official album (of which he continues to maintain full creative control)
Developing Agust D musically on the base of hip hop, much of Agust D's inspiration for the lyrics came from his own stories of dream, youth, and reality. Not only is he a Rapper, Vocalist and dancer he's also Awarding winning Producer having won a Producer of the Year award for another artist from another record company. He's just smashed 2 huge worldwide records as a Rapper. He's smashed Drake's previous record by being the only Rapper to Sell over 1million Physical Copies of his new album D-Day on it's day of release. He's also the only Rapper to do a solo tour of the USA that made over 30million US Dollars. Suga like all the members of BTS have achieved something very diffucult to do in that they are all Full member's of the South Korean Copyright Association. Every single member is a Song Writer, Composer, and Producer. As a group they have far more freedom and creative freedom than any other group/artist within the Kpop Industry.
Suga has many sides. He can be aggressive, soft, fun, dance etc he’s also a producer so he makes many types of music.

This is filmed in Bangkok. I actually think the last scene is previous night. That's when he gets the idea to use chopsticks 😂 Haegeum is a part of trilogy: Daechwita, Haegeum and Amygdala. Suga keeps killing worst versions of himself. In Daechwita it's the rebel killing the mad king, in Haegeum it's young cop killing the old corrupt one. And Amygdala is the origin of Agust D character.

@@boywonderreacts Yesss, I definitely second both Ddaeng and Ugh for a look at all of the rappers, but I would follow up with a suggestion to include an explanation video by DKDKTV. Both of those songs contain a lot of Korean language word play and/or cultural references that DKDKTV helps to explain.
I would also recommend a live performance of Outro: Tear, which is my absolute favorite song by the three rappers.
Suga/Agustd is known for being one of the fastest rappers in the world. He has been Agustd for years he has two other albums other than D-Day. They are self titled Agustd and d-2. D-day is the completion of the Agustd trilogy. Dachweita is the prequel song to heageum and Amygdala is the last in the story line. Each BTS member have solo work on the BTS albums. RM has a couple solo albums one album is indigo just released this year. Jhope has a couple albums one is hope world named after jcoles Cole world the other is Jack in the box which was released end of last year. Jimin has his face album, Jin has a single called astronaut. V has solo songs but hasn't released an album yet. Jungkook has his single album called dreamers which he sang at the world cup soccer game in Dubai. I heard Jungkook is supposedly releasing an album on July 14 th.

Yeah, he’s pretty raw. Since he’s also a producer, he does the more filtered songs for BTS but does the raw unfiltered ones under the alias Agust D. He has 2 mix tapes and 1 solo album. The 3 complete what he said is his August D series. Not sure if that means he’ll retire Agust D. He is on a world tour now and they just showed a Japan concert last night in select theaters. There will be 2 Seoul shows to be streamed (pay per view) on the 24th and 25th. ARMY usually buy both days… but it’s not cheap. 😢 I went to his concerts in Oakland - both days. So amazing! It’s always so surreal to be in any BTS concert, group or solo. They always give 200% - regardless of weather, health, etc. You also always feel them sincerely happy to see us and reach out to us. Looking forward to the online streaming. It’s the exactly the same show with them. Not because of the set list or performance, but because of them. SUGA aka Agust D are his alter ego. Agust D music has been around for many years. Agust D is SUGA spelled backwards plus Dt for Daegu town where he is from. Also, not sure if you knew this or not but BTS writes, composes, and produces the majority of their songs. And the rappers in the group also create the majority of their own beats as well. BTS rappers go hard!! I recommend checking out RM and J-Hope songs too. They all have individual songs as well as group songs. The 3 rappers together are amazing. Their rappers don't come to play. The 3 Rappers are always hard hitting Rappers. Suga and RM were originally part of the underground Hip Hop scene and BTS is based in HipHop so when they go off they really go off they spit bars and it's never about drugs and how many woman they have on their arms either. And yes they have their Dis tracks because they got a lot of Haters but the also Rap about social issue's, mental health etc etc.

Haegeum is part of a trilogy of songs and the first song is Daechwita then Haegeum then Amygdala. It’s referencing Heath Ledger’s joker in this video. Haegeum is set in Korea and Rush hour is set between America and Hong Kong. To me this is the story i get from the video.This is the king and Agust D from Daechwita reincarnated to the present. The king is again gained power being a high ranking corrupt police officer (as he is leaving the police station the other cops solute him indicating high rank) But at the end Agust D once again out smarted the cop by laying a trap by getting the king's men to turn on him/by replacing them with his own men. It could also be that he was an undercover/rogue cop because he got a lift in a cop car in the end. So it could be a metaphor for the continued fight against his inner self or maybe social problems.

Agust D (pronounced August like the month) is and has been his solo rap name for some time.
Haegeum is pronounced HEH-gum. He said it probably 20 or 25 times in the video and near the end you still pronounced it incorrectly.

Agust D has been around for years. He is the rapper aspect of Min Yoongi's personality. Yoongi is SUGA when he's with BTS or producing on his own.
